Booster box : for a strong, reliable indoor signal Quick start guide Check that you ve got: Booster box Internet (Ethernet) cable USB/power cable Postage-paid return label (in case you need to send it back) Set it up Use a fixed, unlimited internet connection. 1. Plug the USB/power cable into the Booster box. 2. 3. 4. Plug the internet (Ethernet) cable into the Booster box. Plug the internet (Ethernet) cable into the broadband router. Plug the USB/power cable into the main socket. When the green light stops flashing and stays green, you re ready to go. This can take up to 30 minutes. What to do if your Box isn t working Check that it s switched on and connected to the router. Make sure your internet connection is working. Check the LED indicator and take the recommended action (see Front panel). If it still doesn t work, call our Customer Care at 0800 700 700. Business customers call 0800 700 600. Frequently asked questions How many mobile phones can communicate via the Booster box? The Box can handle calls or data transfers for up to 4 3G-enabled devices at a time, or 8 devices in a business set up. My mobile doesn t connect to the Booster box. Check Settings on your phone your mobile needs to be 3G-enabled to connect to the Box. How fast does my broadband connection need to be? The recommended minimum speed is 2 Mbit/s to your LAN (downlink) and 512 kbit/s from your LAN (uplink). Check your connection speed at speedtest.net. How far from the Booster box can I be when making a call? The typical range is between 50 m and 100 m. It varies depending on factors like the location of the Box, the number and thickness of the building s walls, and how near it is to other Booster boxes. Why does the light keep flashing? See explanations under Front panel. Can I still make calls when I m sending emails or uploading files from my computer? Yes. The Booster box is working fine, but my computer won t connect to Wi-Fi. Move your Box further away from your router. What level of radio emissions does the Booster box transmit? Less than a broadband router; up to 20 mw. The Box reduces the radio emissions from the mobile phone. How much electricity will the Booster box use? About the same amount as a broadband router. I m moving to another location, what do I do? Let us know so that we can update our systems with the new address where the Booster box will be used. I m changing my broadband router or internet service provider. Your Booster box might not work. If you change your internet service provider or DSL/cable router, please call Blck so that we can update your device. I do not need the Booster box any longer. Use the original packing and postagepaid return label to return the Box. I have no internet (Ethernet) port on my broadband modem/router. Ask your fixed internet service provider to change your modem/router.
