Georgian Festival 2014 Richmond upon Thames This year marks the Tercentenary of the Hanoverian accession to the Throne of Great Britain. Three hundred years ago this summer, George Louis of Hanover came to England to take the crown and lead England into a Georgian Period of exploration, enlightenment and culture. There are many royal connections to the borough, including Royal Palaces, parks, and historic houses frequented by the Georges and their court. To celebrate, Georgian Festival exhibitions and events are taking place across Richmond upon Thames in partnership with Orleans House Gallery, White Lodge Museum, English Heritage, Historic Royal Palaces, Garricks Temple, Turner s House Trust and artsrichmond. Rachel Tranter, Head of Arts, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
