R. Patrick Dumelie President and CEO Patrick brings a strong background in leadership, change management and strategic planning to his new role. Over the past two years he has played a pivotal role in refreshing the vision and strategic direction for Caritas Health Group, and revitalizing the mission of Catholic health care in the province. Patrick assumed the leadership of Caritas in 2006, coming to Edmonton from the Regina Qu Appelle Health Region in Saskatchewan where he served as Senior Vice President of Health Services. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer Integrated Health Services for the Regina Health District. His 19 year career includes leadership positions in rural and urban acute and long term care, ambulance services, public health, home care, mental health and addiction, strategic planning and a broad range of administrative services. Patrick holds a Masters of Business Administration from Queens University and a Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Regina. Patrick is committed to advancing the contributions of faith based health care in Alberta and Canada, and helping the new organization play a pivotal role in meeting the growing demands for health care services in the province. Greg Hadubiak, FACHE Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Edmonton Acute Care Gregʹs career has spanned the three prairie provinces and a range of health care environments, from small rural to large urban, from not for profit to provincial departments of health, and from health promotion/public health to acute care. Committed to Catholic health care, Greg has served in several leadership roles with Caritas Health Group since 2002 including Interim President, Acting Vice President of Acute Care and as Vice President, Operations Grey Nuns. His responsibilities included acute care operations, capital planning and support services. Greg holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masterʹs Degree in Health Services Administration. He is a Fellow (FACHE) in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a past executive member of the Northern Alberta Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives. Jeffery M. Robinson, MD CCFP Dip. Sport Med. Senior Vice President Medicine Dr. Robinson is a family physician with an interest in sports medicine who has practiced in Edmonton since 1983. He has a community practice in family medicine. He has served as Chief of Staff for Caritas Health Group for 10 years. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. Dr. Robinson has provided leadership in his profession as Executive Director for the Alberta College of Family Physicians and is a Past President of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine and the Sport Medicine Council of Alberta. Currently he also serves on the medical staff for the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club and Edmonton Oilers Hockey and has worked as a member of the medical team for Canada at the Olympic Games, World University Games and the Pan American Games. 2

Karen Galenzoski Vice President Human Resources Karen has over 20 years experience in various roles within Human Resources for faith based organizations in Vancouver and Edmonton. Karen was appointed Vice President, Human Resources for Caritas Health Group in 2005. She was responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive range of Human Resource programs and services including workforce planning, wage and salary administration, employee benefits, job evaluation and design, labour/employee relations, recruitment, retention and recognition. Her portfolio also included Staff Education and Development, Library, Audio Visual Services, and Occupational Health and Safety. Karen is a certified Human Resource practitioner (CHRP) and is an active volunteer in the community. Rosa Rudelich, CA Vice President and Chief Financial Officer A Chartered Accountant, Rosa was appointed Vice President, Finance and Administration for Caritas Health Group in 1997. In that role, she was responsible for finance, legal, and risk management services as well as a range of administrative services including health records, telecommunications, purchasing and material management. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 1990. Her career also includes positions with a childrenʹs hospital and a chartered accounting firm. Rosa is active in the community, having served on committees and boards of various organizations. Kevin Cowan Vice President and Senior Operating Officer, South and Central Kevin has a broad range of health care experience providing leadership in continuing care, seniors supportive living, acute care, rehabilitation, community care and services to persons with developmental disabilities. Committed to Catholic health care and meeting the needs of the community, he served as CEO of St. Michael s Health Centre in Lethbridge since 2000. In that role, he helped to establish positive relationships with the Regional Health Authority and led the growth of the organization with the addition of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, a Designated Assisted Living (DAL) facility and a private supportive living model with the construction of Martha s House. Kevin holds a Master of Health Administration and a Bachelor of Nursing Science. Sheli Murphy Vice President and Senior Operating Officer, North Sheli has held executive leadership roles in Catholic health care for the past decade. Most recently, she provided leadership to the four Catholic facilities in East Central Health Region. She has also served as Acting President of Caritas Health Group and Vice President, Operations at the Misericordia Community Hospital. At Caritas, she also provided professional practice leadership as the Chief Nursing Officer and as the executive lead for Academics and Research. Sheli has extensive clinical experience as a registered nurse, educator and clinical researcher positions in active treatment settings. She has a combined Masters of Science in Nursing and in Business Administration Health Care Management and is currently a PhD candidate in Leadership and Administrative Management. 3

Al Pierog Vice President and Senior Operating Officer, Edmonton Continuing Care With a Masterʹs in Science Administration, Al brings a broad range of leadership expertise and almost 30 years of service in Catholic organizations to his new role. He served as Vice President, Continuing Care with Caritas Health Group since 2004, providing solutions focused leadership to the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre and, since February 2008, to Youville Home in St. Albert. Prior to joining Caritas, Al was Chief Operating Officer of Catholic Social Services, where he served in various leadership roles. Al is an active member of the local community, including the Knights of Columbus and Rotary. Al brings a strong emphasis on best practice; responsive, resident centered services; and compassionate, professional care. Fran Ross Vice President Communications Fran s 25 year career in communications spans a range of roles including journalism, marketing, organizational communications, and consulting in both the public and private sector. Fran served as Vice President, Communications and Community Relations for Caritas Health Group since 2000, providing leadership to internal and external communications, public and media relations, community relations and volunteer services. In her role, she supported the organizationʹs efforts to deepen the mission, build relationships and strategic partnerships, implement corporate strategies and manage change. Prior to joining Caritas, she was Director of Marketing for the University of Alberta s Faculty of Extension. She has a Bachelor s degree in English and a Masterʹs degree in Journalism. Jennifer Haggerty Vice President Planning Jennifer brings to her new leadership role for strategic and capital planning knowledge and experience in change leadership, project management, and strategic planning including training in Balanced Scorecard methodology. As Director of Executive Services for Caritas Health Group she provided executive support to the President and the Board of Directors and its committees and project management for a variety of corporate initiatives including Caritas Health Group s leadership role in supporting the Catholic facilities of East Central Health Region and in transitioning to the consolidated governance and management structure for Catholic Health of Alberta. Prior to joining Caritas, she served as a change specialist for Providence Health Care in Vancouver. She holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Health Service Administration. Gordon Self Vice President Mission, Ethics and Spirituality Gordon served as Vice President, Mission, Ethics and Spirituality for Caritas Health Group since 2002, providing executive leadership for clinical and organizational ethics, mission integration, diversity and spiritual care at Caritas. He was co facilitator of the Caritas Leadership Program, helping develop leaders in values based decision making and moral reflection. He is a member of the Core Team commissioned by the Catholic Health Association of Canada Board to develop the new edition of the Health Ethics Guide. A former chaplain at St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, Gordon pursued a fellowship in mission and ethics with Trinity Health in Michigan and is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus on organizational decision making and discernment. 4

Michael Shea, CMA Vice President Board Support For the past decade, Michael served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Alberta Catholic Health Corporation (ACHC) which was responsible for sponsorship of Catholic health organizations in the province. He came to the ACHC from St. Maryʹs Hospital in Camrose, where he served as Executive Director. Prior to entering the Catholic health care ministry, Michael articled with a chartered accounting firm. Michael is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Diploma in Health Services Management. He has served on the Boards of the Christian Health Association of Alberta, the Catholic Health Association of Canada, the Sisters of Providence Health System and numerous task forces and committees. He also served as a school trustee and is an active volunteer in his community. Jon Popowich Vice President Quality Jon has served Caritas Health Group in a variety of administrative and leadership positions in quality development, strategic planning and board governance support since 1989. As Vice President of Strategic Planning and Quality for Caritas Health Group, Jon led corporate strategic planning and the organization s efforts in quality, patient safety, patient relations and policies and procedures. He served as chair of the Caritas Ethics Committee, and has been actively engaged in ethics consults and teaching. Jon s education includes university business studies and a post graduate degree in Management. He also holds certificates in process redesign and ISO9000. Jon has served the community in a variety of capacities, including as Chair of the Board of the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. Jan Schimpf Senior Operating Officer, Misericordia Community Hospital Jan has held a number of leadership roles in health care during her 30 year career as a registered nurse, educator and health care administrator. She brings a wealth of clinical and operational experience to her current role, having served as Acting Vice President, Acting Associate Vice President and Manager of Intensive Care/Cardiac Care at the Misericordia Community Hospital over the past eight years. A consummate educator and team builder, Jan is committed to using her strong strategic planning, problem solving and mentorship skills to provide quality, compassionate care and be of greater service to the community. She graduated from the Royal Alexandra School of Nursing and holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Karen Macmillan Senior Operating Officer, Grey Nuns Community Hospital Karen brings a passion for mentorship, research and ongoing quality improvement to her leadership role. A registered nurse, Karen served as Acting Associate Vice President of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and has provided leadership in the Palliative Care, Medicine, and Geriatrics Programs over the past 13 years. She has been engaged in palliative care research and education for over 20 years and has served on a variety of committees and task forces and published extensively in this field. She was a recipient of the Caritas Mission Award in 2008 and the University of Alberta McClure Award for Nursing in 2007. She holds a Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Nursing. 5
