3 Mr. Chris Facey - Director Facey Financial Planning and Consulting Chris began his career in the life insurance industry in 1973 with Great-West Life Assurance Company and now operates his own company, Facey Financial Planning and Consulting Inc. In 2001 Chris received Great-West Life s most prestigious award, The Jack Hopwood Memorial Award, which is presented every two years in Canada to the agent who exemplifies outstanding community service. Mr. Cory Hall - Director District Manager, Walmart Canada Cory Hall has been a member of the Walmart team since 1994 and has taken on many roles, including that of store manager in locations throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI. In 2005, after 10 years away from his home province, Cory was given the opportunity to take on the role of District Manager, responsible for the western half of Newfoundland and Labrador. When both the western and eastern districts joined in 2007 Cory was made District Manager for the whole of the province.
4 Mr. Bert Hickman - Director President, Hickman Automotive Group In 1990 Bert began his career as General Manager for Hickman Saturn Saab Isuzu, in 2000 he became Vice President of Hickman Motors and in 2005 took operational control as President of the Hickman Automotive Group. Bert and the Hickman Automotive Group are involved in many fundraising initiatives throughout the province. Mr. Jim Keating - Director Vice-President, Nalcor Energy Oil and Gas Jim is currently Vice-President, Nalcor Energy Oil and Gas. Before his appointment to VP Oil and Gas, Jim was responsible for Business Development in the areas of wind power development, power marketing and research and development. Jim has 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry and was formerly Norsk Hydro Canada Oil & Gas s Vice President of Field Development and Operations. 5 Dr. Eilish Walsh - Director Clinical Chief, Diagnostic Imaging Janeway Children s Health & Rehabilitation Centre Dr. Walsh began her medical career at Cork Regional Hospital in Ireland in 1981 and her Radiology Residency with Memorial University from and with McMaster University from In July 1989 she began her career with the Janeway Children s Health & Rehabilitation Centre with a Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology and in February 2001 took on the role of Chief, Division of Diagnostic Imaging. Mr. Ken Templeton, QC - Director General Council Oceanex Ken has been practicing law in Newfoundland & Labrador since 1980, including as a long serving partner of Stewart McKelvey. In 2008 Ken started his own firm Conflict Resolution Consulting PLC which is now engaged as General Counsel of the container shipping line Oceanex Inc. A founding director of United Way of Newfoundland & Labrador, Ken also encourages the development of restorative justice as a director of the non-profit organization Community Justice Initiatives (NL) Inc. Another interest of Ken s is assisting new immigrants in getting settled in St. John s which he does as the Chair of the St. David s Group Home Limited working with the Association of New Canadians.
6 Ex-Officio Ms. Beverley Clarke Ex-Officio Vice-President, Eastern Health Children s and Women s Health, Mental Health and Addictions, Ethics Beverley s career in health spans more almost three decades, from clinical practice, policy and program development to management and administration. In 1998 Beverley took on the role of Assistant Deputy Minister for the Department of Health & Community Services for community health services and policy and program planning. In January 2003 she became the Chief Executive Officer for Health and Community Services St. John s Region. Since 2005 Beverley has held the position of Vice-President with Eastern Health, responsible for Children s and Women s Health, Mental Health and Addictions; Pastoral Care and Ethics and Community Children s Services. Dr. Alice Collins Ex-Officio Faculty of Education Memorial University of Newfoundland Dr. Collins is Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education, Memorial University and a representative of the Board of Trustees for the Eastern Newfoundland Integrated Health Authority on the Janeway Children s Hospital Foundation s Board.
7 Dr. Kenneth Henderson Ex-Officio Co-Clinical Chief, Children s and Women s Health Program Janeway Children s Health and Rehabilitation Centre Dr. Henderson was born and educated in St. John s and practiced Community Pediatrics in Ontario and New Brunswick for 25 years. Dr. Henderson took on the role of Co-Clinical Chief at the Janeway Children s Health & Rehabilitation Centre in May, Ms. Judy Murphy Ex-Officio Judy Murphy, President of the Janeway Auxiliary, had a career in municipal administration with the town of Wedgewood Park and for the City of St. John s until her retirement in Judy has served on the Executive of the Association of Municipal Administrators and is a recipient of the Queen s Silver Jubilee medal. Judy also holds the distinction of being the first female Sea Cadet Officer in Newfoundland and Labrador. Judy has volunteered with the Janeway Auxiliary since 2005 and is very honored to be an exofficio member of the Janeway Foundation Board of Directors.
8 Ms. Marilyn Pardy Ex-Officio Retired, Janeway Children s Health & Rehabilitation Centre Marilyn s 35 year nursing career was spent at the Janeway Hospital. She began as a staff nurse in 1968, retiring in 2003 as Director of Children s & Women s Health. Upon her retirement Marilyn was made a Life Member of the Janeway Foundation Board of Directors. Marilyn is also a member and Past President of the Janeway Auxiliary. Ms. Jeanne Robertson Ex-Officio Regional Program Director Children s and Women s Health, Eastern Health Jeanne Robertson is the new Regional Program Director for Children's and Women's Health at Eastern Health. Until recently she was the Operations Director of the inpatient medical and surgical units at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Ontario. Jeanne has held several leadership positions at CHEO including management in medicine and surgery. Her international experience is also quite varied. In 2000, Jeanne was seconded from CHEO to the Shaikh Khalifa Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi, for over a year, to set up all of pediatrics for a hospital opening in February She also worked in clinical practice in pediatric medicine in Saudi Arabia and in pediatric intensive care in New Orleans, Louisiana.
9 Ms. Lynn Sparkes Ex-Officio Executive Director Janeway Children s Hospital Foundation With more than 15 years experience in health care philanthropy, Lynn Sparkes has held key roles in both pediatric and adult fundraising. Lynn joined the Janeway Foundation in 2002 as Manager, Corporate Giving and in 2005 assumed her current role as Executive Director. From Lynn held the position of Executive Director with the General Hospital Health Foundation (Adult Care).
