Innovative success includes the establishment of viable High School dual enrollment programs in four highly rural county school systems. In addition, collaborative partnerships paired with creative thinking established a highly successful Career Pathway program to serve more than 720 rural students annually. The Career Pathway program led to the establishment of lasting relationship and garnered a 90 % increase in freshman enrollment from this school. As a leader, politically astute advocacy skills are demonstrated on the local, state, and federal levels. Most recently, state funding was leveraged to finalize the fiber optic network for the local county school system. The network will allow dual enrollment courses to each school within the county and will promote sharing of specialized human resources throughout the county system. 3 Susan Burrow Professional Experience Central Alabama Community College, Alexander City, Alabama Acting President February 2013 to present Chief Executive Officer leading a small to medium size rural multi-campus comprehensive community college. The College enrolls on average 2000 students across two campuses and an instructional site within a six county service area. Bevill State Community College, Hamilton, Alabama Administrative Roles Campus Dean and Dean of Academic Transfer Programs June 2009 to February 2013 Executive leadership -this dual role assignment evolved through reorganization shortly after the arrival of our current President. In addition to the supervision of the Hamilton Campus, I assumed responsibility for Academic Transfer Programs College-wide. BSCC consists of four campuses and two instructional sites. The Academic Transfer Division serves as one of three instructional divisions of the College. I report directly to the Chief Academic Officer and function as a member of the President s Advisory Council. Campus Associate Dean - May 2003 to June 2009 The Campus Associate Dean role evolved through the merger of four institutions to form Bevill State Community College. The executive campus administrative duties were previously fulfilled by a President and later a Provost of each campus. With each subsequent merger the duties remained similar but the position was fulfilled by a Campus Associate Dean. The Campus Associate Dean is recognized throughout the service area as the chief administrator and works to represent the local community to the larger service area which results in a comprehensive and complex community college. Health Science Division Chair Hamilton and Fayette Campuses and College Wide Practical Nursing Program Coordinator September 1, 2002 to May 2003 The Health Science Division Chair provides administrative oversight for all campus based Health Science programs. During this time frame, I served as program chair for two of the four Bevill State campuses. In addition, I provided administrative leadership for the Practical Nursing Program across all Bevill State campuses. Administrative and Instructional Roles Division Chair Hamilton Campus General Studies - October 2000 to August 31, 2002

4 Susan Burrow The Division Chair of General Studies provides administrative oversight for the academic transfer division of the campus. The Chair coordinates the instructional schedule for the campus and collaborates with chairs from all campuses to share human resources. The Chair assumes all planning and budget management for the division and works closely with the Campus Associate Dean. The chair also assumes teaching responsibility in addition to administrative responsibility. Division Chair Hamilton Campus Health Science May 2000 to May 2003 The Division Chair of Health Science provides administrative oversight of the campus based Health Science Programs. The chair also assumes teaching responsibility in addition to administrative responsibilities. Hamilton Campus Practical Nursing Coordinator August 1998 to May 2000 The Practical Nursing Coordinator provided instructional leadership for the Practical Nursing Program. The coordinator also assumes teaching responsibility in addition to administrative responsibilities. Practical Nursing Teaching and Continuing Education Coordination September 1996 to August 1998 This position required one half time teaching responsibility and coordination of continuing education project for the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Practical and Associate Degree Nursing Educator - September 1993 to September 2002 This position required full time instructional responsibilities to provide Practical and Associate Degree Nursing instruction in various theoretical and clinical components. Student Development Roles Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Faculty Advisor - February 1994 to September 2005 This position was in addition to a full teaching load. I provided leadership as the faculty advisor for the honor society and taught leadership development courses as a Certified Leadership Development Faculty member. The position required extensive travel and supervision of student activities.

5 Susan Burrow Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Regional Coordinator (State of Alabama) - January 2001 to March 2004 This role was in addition to administrative and instructional responsibilities. I was responsible for all activities of the Alabama Region of Phi Theta Kappa. This encompassed awards and honors programming, event management, leadership development, and financial management of State funds. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society interim Regional Coordinator - July 2000 to December 2001 A minimum of one year as interim service was required prior to assuming the full responsibilities of Alabama Regional Coordinator. Upon confirmation, I assumed the Coordinator role. Northwest Alabama State Community College, Hamilton, Alabama Practical Nursing Educator - May 1989 to September 1993 This position required full time instructional responsibilities to provide Practical Nursing instruction in various theoretical and clinical components. Northwest Alabama State Technical College, Hamilton, Alabama Practical Nursing Educator - April April 1989 This position required full time instructional responsibilities to provide Practical Nursing advising and instruction in theoretical and clinical components. PREVIOUS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Baptist Health Center, Hackleburg, Alabama Family Nurse Practitioner and Facility Senior Administrator - September 1996 to June 1998 In this role, I established and operated a full service rural health clinic. I practiced advanced health care in accordance with the policy set forth by the Alabama Board of Nursing and joint board of practice with the Alabama Board of Medicine.
