Basic Courses of Technical Module International and Legal Aspects of Nonproliferation Nuclear Knowledge Management International Nuclear Cooperation The purpose of the course is to study from the basics such as Non- Proliferation Treaty and the IAEA s role, the practices of national and international export control system, international political issues against NPT, to the international efforts toward non-proliferation. The purpose of the discipline is to understand the importance of knowledge management for the nuclear field, methods and practical tools to preserve knowledge, how knowledge management can/should be practiced and for what purposes, knowledge management and intellectual property. The course is conducted by IAEA experts, who cover such topics as INPRO project; status, prospects and issues for small modular reactors; economics of nuclear power; IAEA nuclear reactors programme; nuclear materials flows modeling in nuclear fuel cycles. Nuclear Technology The purpose of the discipline is to understand basic concepts of nuclear technology. Introduction to energy generation from nuclear reactions. Characteristics of nuclear energy. Fission cross-sections, criticality, and reaction control. Basic considerations of fission and fast reactor engineering, thermal hydraulics, and safety. Nuclear fuel and waste characteristics. Focus on western & Russian Light Water Reactors (LWR), Russian 10 fast reactor systems, and non-energy systems including accelerator based and medical systems.
Basic Courses of International Relations Module Technical and economical project analysis The purpose of discipline is to study the theoretical and practical issues related to the technical and economic analysis of international projects. The ultimate goal is to learn to conduct feasibility analysis and obtain profound knowledge of making management decisions aimed at improving the effectiveness of projects. Mathematical methods of project management Protecting the environment and environmentally friendly technologies Systemology and organization theory The purpose of the discipline is to develop an understanding of the optimization modeling techniques and fundamentals of the theory of probability and mathematical statistics, which are necessary for performing the basic tasks of project management (modeling flows of random events and calculating the numerical characteristics of random variables). The ultimate goal of the course is to develop the ability to systematically evaluate the environmental risks of modern development, as well as to analyze specific areas of international cooperation and security in this area. The purpose of discipline is to understand basic concepts of abstract systemology, receive training in basic structures and management tasks in organizations; obtain practical skills and learn about key methods and tools to perform analysis, evaluation and forecasting of time, resources, and other indicators of complex objects, processes and phenomena. 11
Basic Courses of Economical Module Investment and Innovation Projects Management (in Nuclear Industry) Corporate Finances Nuclear Industry Process Management Innovative Entrepreneurship and Legal Protection of Intellectual Property in Nuclear Industry Nuclear Industry Economics The discipline includes a number of general topics, complying with the recommendations of Project Management Institute. These general topics are: the project s definition and its objectives (SMART s requirements), the development and updating of the investment project s business plan, Project Scope Management et al The discipline consists of several general topics which include modern tools and techniques to improve the efficiency of financial - economic activities of the corporation in a market economy. Hereby are examined the general issues of effective conjunction between work processes and the material elements of production. This conjunction will make a profit producing of high-quality products. The discipline consists of several general topics which include basic concepts and methods of economic justification of innovations and management decisions; principles of project management company and the nature of innovation projects; Hereby is examined the social-economic role of nuclear power and its place in the energy sector.
