Established in 1951, The Spartans Football Club has grown into one of Scotland s top community clubs in recent years. Over 100,000 people are welcomed through our doors every year. That s some 2,000 people every week, either training, competing or participating in our five men s, two women s and 40+ youth teams, as well as our community programmes. In our 63-year history many things have been achieved: Our state-of-the-art football academy at Ainslie Park opened its doors in December 2008. 5 million has been invested in our facilities, with the support of Sportscotland, BIG Lottery, Social Investment Scotland, Robertson Trust, Children in Need, Tartan Army Children s Charity and many others. A modern 3,500 capacity stadium, two stateof-the-art 4th generation synthetic pitches, a 5-a-side pitch, eight changing rooms, a physiotherapy centre, a learning centre and a community club room have been created in North Edinburgh. Our charity, the Spartans Community Football Academy, employs 17 staff and is recognised across Scotland for using sport to deliver social change. In 2013 we were awarded runner-up in Scottish Social Enterprise of the Year. Our men s senior team has won the East of Scotland League, one of two (senior) non-leagues which sit below the Scottish Professional Football League, on nine occasions. We have just been confirmed as the inaugural winners of the new Lowland League. Our men s senior team became the first non-league team to reach the last 16 of the Scottish Cup in nearly 50 years. Then we did it again two years later. On the first occasion in 2003, we defeated Scottish Football League (SFL) Second Division Arbroath and Alloa Athletic before losing out to Premier League Livingston. In 2005 SFL teams Berwick Rangers and Queen s Park were defeated before we lost to Premier League St Mirren after a replay. Our women s senior team is one of the strongest teams in Scotland having finished in the top four of the Scottish Women s Premier League in the last five seasons and having reached the last three League Cup finals. Our women s senior team has produced six full Scottish international players. Many more exciting times lie ahead for our club: As the Scottish Professional Football League has created a pyramid system for the first time and we are founder members of the inaugural feeder league, the Lowland Football League, it is now possible for our men s senior team to be promoted to the SPFL from season 2014 / 15. With the top team in the Scottish Women s Premier League qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, there is a fantastic incentive for everyone in the club. Our community work continues to grow as we tackle the challenging health, unemployment, education and crime issues in North Edinburgh. Programme Advertising Around 20 programmes are published per season, with 150 copies printed for each game. We estimate that each programme is read by 500 people as the programmes sit around our café for the week after games and our other customers read through them. A link to your company website will also be created from www.spartansfc.com. The design and manufacture of advertising boards costs an additional 100. 350 + VAT per board Website and Social Media Sponsor Our website, Twitter and Facebook pages receive extensive coverage. We have over 5,000 unique visitors to our website each week and nearly 4,000 twitter followers. Our total audience has increased by over 50% in the last 12 months.
