ONECLICKDIGITAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUDIOBOOKS 2.4.14 SETTING UP: 1. From the James Kennedy Public Library website( www.dyersville.lib.ia.us ) click on the OneClick Digital web button at the top of the Home page OR click on the Digital Collection tab. Then click on the OneClickdigital button to take you to the OneClickdigital website. 2. Click on Create New Account. 3. Enter your library card number (found under the barcode on the back of the card) 1

4. Select your preferred format: ebook or Audio. Click the radio button for All if you want to be able to download both ebooks and audiobooks. Otherwise, click the radio button for the specific format you will use either ebooks or Audiobooks. 5. Select the eaudio preferences you have. The default is Use OneClickdigital Media Manager or Mobile App and I recommend you use that. 6. Select the type of MP3 device you ll be using either an ipod/itunes (Apple) or another brand. 7. Select your ebook preferences by telling the computer if your reader supports epub files. (Please note that Kindle users can only use Kindle files. Overdrive and most other users can use epub). Don t change the default if this doesn t apply to you. 8. Enter all the personal information requested. You will be asked to create a user name (7 characters long, must include one number) and a password. This user name and password is what you will use from now on to log on to this website. 9. Click on Create an Account when done. 2

10. When the Download OneClick Digital Media Manager page comes up your account has been created. 11. If you will be downloading audiobooks to your computer to listen to or to transfer to an MP3 device, then click on the box OneClickdigital Media Manger that is appropriate for the type of operating system you have on your computer (Windows or Mac). Follow the directions to download the program. If you are going to be downloading the audiobooks to your mobile device, skip to number 19. 12. At the pop-up message asking you to Run or Save the program select Run 3

13. The pop-up box for the Installshield Wizard will come up. Click Next 14. Agree to the Terms of Use and click Next 15. When asked if you are ready to install click Install. It will take a few minutes for the Wizard to. A shortcut to your desktop will be downloaded. 4

16. Once installation is complete you will be prompted to click Finish to exit out of the installation Manager. 17. The OneClickdigital program will automatically open, but this might take a minute. It will prompt you to log in for the first time using the log in and password you created earlier. 18. Now you are ready to borrow audiobooks! 5

19. If you are going to be downloading the audiobooks to your mobile device (Smartphone, tablet, etc.) then go to the app store for your device, while on your device, and download the OneClickdigital app (as seen below). 20. Open the app. You will be prompted to sign in with you re the user name and password you created. 21. The app opens to the page showing what titles you have downloaded. If you don t have anything downloaded this page will be blank. CHECKING OUT AUDIOBOOKS ON THE MOBILE APP You can check out 5 books at a time. Each book can be borrowed for 2 weeks. 1. Open the app. 2. Click on Browse More Titles to take you to the collection 3. To search for a specific author/title click on the search box (with the magnifying glass) and type in the author name and/or title and hit Search 4. To browse by genre click on the box that says All next to Browse. a. This will bring up a list of all the categories/genres of books you can select from. b. Click on the category you want then click on the button with the magnifying glass right next to it. 5. Click on the book cover to get more info. Make sure the title has an icon of headphones next to it. This means it is an audiobook (the icon of a book means it is an ebook). a. On the right side there will be a Checkout Now button if the title is available 6. To check out a book: a. Click Checkout Now to borrow the audiobook. The Checkout Now button will disappear after you check it out. b. Click on the My Collections tab from the menu across the top to access the list of items you ve borrowed c. Click on Download Now, located underneath the title of the book you just borrowed d. Click Close to close the page that shows the book you just downloaded 6

e. You are now on the My Titles page and the books you downloaded should show. To start listening to a book, click on the arrow for the book you want. f. When done listening to this book, click on My Titles to bring you back to your other downloaded books. g. Click on Browse More Titles to take you back to the collection/main screen. h. From the collection page, click on Close to bring you back to the My Titles screen to resume listening to your audiobooks. 7. To return a book early, be at the main page. a. Click on the My Collections tab b. Click on Return Now next to the book you want to return c. The book should automatically return and remove itself from your device. CHECKING OUT AUDIOBOOKS TO YOUR COMPUTER You can check out 5 books at a time. Each book can be borrowed for 2 weeks. 1. Go to the library website www.dyersville.lib.ia.us, click on the OneClick Digital web button at the top of the Home page or click on the Digital Collection tab, then click on the OneClickdigital web button to take you to the website. 2. Click on Login and log in to your account 3. Search for a specific title or author using the Search Box. Or browse for the book you want to check out by selecting the category of the book and scanning through the options. a. Make sure the title has the icon of a pair of headphones next to it. This indicates it is an audiobook. b. To view all details of a book double click on the cover of the book to bring up its details. 4. When you find a book you want to check out double click on the cover to open up the details. 7

5. Click on the Checkout Now button to check out. 6. You will get a pop-up message asking if you want to Open or Save the book file. Click Open. 8

7. The OneClick Media Manager should automatically open. This may take a minute or two. a. If it does not automatically open then open the OneClickdigital Media Manager from your desktop. 8. The book you checked out will show up on the home page of the Media Manager under the Check Outs tab. If you don t see the book then click on the Refresh button up at the top, right of the library logo. 9. You can log out of the OneClickdigital website now if you are done looking for books. 10. From the Check Outs page in the OneClickdigital Media Manager you can either click Play and the book will download onto your computer and start playing or you can click Download and Transfer to transfer the book to a portable device. TO RETURN A BOOK: 1. To return a book, open up OneClickdigital Media Manager and log in. 2. Under the title for the book you want to return, click on the Return button 9

3. The book will return immediately and will disappear from the list of items on the Check Outs tab 4. You will need to remove the book from your mobile device. How to do this varies based on the type of device you are using. TO TRANSFER TO AN APPLE IPOD 1. Log in to OneClickdigital Media Manager, if you haven t already. You will see the book you have checked out under the Check Outs tab. 2. Open itunes and plug in your ipod to the computer. 3. Once itunes reads your ipod click on your ipod from the menu down the left to bring up the details of your ipod. 4. On your ipod summary screen make sure that Manually manage music and videos is checked. 10

5. If not, check it then hit the Apply button 6. Go back into OneClickdigital Media Manager and click the Transfer button to start the transfer. 7. You will get a status screen for the download of the files and you can monitor the progress but you do not need to do anything. 11

8. You will then get a status screen for the transfer of the files. You do not need to do anything. 9. Once the download is complete you will get a confirmation message. Click Ok. 10. Eject your ipod from your computer. 11. Check that the audiobook downloaded. You will find it under Music, Playlists on your device. It will be listed by the title of the book. 12. The book file does not transfer into itunes so you will not see it in your itunes account, only on your ipod. 13. Log off OneClickdigital Media Manager and you can close out of itunes. 12

REMOVE AN AUDIOBOOK FROM AN IPOD 1. Once you have returned the book in OneClickdigital Media Manger open itunes and plug in your ipod. 2. Once itunes reads your ipod click on your ipod from the menu down the left to bring up the details of your ipod. 3. On your ipod summary screen make sure that Manually manage music and videos is NOT checked. 4. If it is, then uncheck it and hit the Apply button 5. Your ipod will automatically start syncing and the book will be removed 6. Once the sync is done, eject the ipod from your computer. 7. Unplug your ipod and if you check on your device under Music, Playlists the book should be gone. 13
