MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATION MEMBERSHIP/FEE SCHEDULE - 2012 Currently, new membership to The Venice Golf and Country Club is limited to residents of this outstanding community. Unlike many clubs, members may own and keep their golf carts at their home, offering a welcoming convenience for an annual Trail Fee or Social Cart Fee. There are three categories of membership: Golf, Recreational and Social. All members own equity in the Club, i.e., members, not a developer, own the Club and all of its facilities. All member categories are entitled to the use of swimming, fitness, dining and social facilities of the Club. Additional benefits apply to specific categories of membership. There is a One-Time Entry Fee, as well as annual dues and fees associated with each category of membership. The One-Time Entry Fee is due at closing for new members. This brief summary offers a broad overview of the benefits associated with each membership classification. Golf Membership Golf memberships are limited to 364. Priority privilege to reserve golf tee times. Eligible to participate in all golf events for members - subject to required sign-up or entry fee. No green fees or tennis court fees. Golf cart fees are the member s responsibility. Recreational (Tennis) Membership Unlimited use of all tennis facilities without charge. Eligible to use the golf facilities of the Club six times during each membership year. Applicable greens fees, golf cart fees will be charged. Social Membership Eligible to use golf and tennis facilities of the Club six times during each membership year. Applicable green fees, golf cart fees and tennis court fees will be charged for using the facilities. EQUITY CLUB OWNERSHIP Formed in 1990 as a not-for-profit corporation, The Venice Golf and Country Club is a private member owned and governed community. It is the equity members, whose vision guides the club forward, securing continued championship golf, enviable clubhouse facilities and a membership united in spirit and desire to maintain The Venice Golf and Country Club s place as one of the top golf and country clubs in Florida. MEMBERSHIP The Venice Golf and Country Club offers three distinctly individual Equity Membership categories: GOLF, RECREATIONAL, and SOCIAL. Whether your preference is water aerobics, bridge, or arts and crafts, our Social members are presented with a myriad of daily and weekly activities in the clubhouse and the fitness and activity center. Social members also have use of the tennis facilities six times per membership year for a nominal fee. Recreational members have unlimited tennis available with priority bookings along with tennis clinics, lessons, and tournaments. Recreational members are also invited to participate in all social activities. Both Social and Recreational members may avail themselves to six rounds of golf per membership year after paying the greens and cart fees. With Golf membership you have full use of all club facilities and social activities along with unlimited golf on our championship 18-hole course, priority tee times and the right to use your own or the club s carts for a fee. GOLF COURSE Completely renovated and reopened November 1, 2005, this Ted McAnlis designed par 72 course boasts an incredible 10 holes with water! Five sets of tees, ranging in length from 5094 yards to 6747 yards, afford exceptional golf for all levels of playing ability. Rolling fairways and sloped greens combine to form a series of challenging holes. The Venice Golf and Country Club s 18 hole course offer the strategy player the option of hitting over a hazard or playing around it. An ongoing challenge, yes! Overwhelming, no! A PGA Master Professional and an exceptional group of assistant pro s are on hand to give pointers, group clinics, private lessons, or just to lend a bit of moral support.
FACILITIES Steeped in tradition, the clubhouse is decorated in rich maple woodwork, tile and granite. This warmth and richness beckons the members to relax and partake in classic dining in either the casual Sand Trap, the Florida formal restaurant, The Venetian, or the Verandah which overlooks the 18 th green. Whether you choose a formal gourmet dinner, a deli sandwich at the bar, or a heart healthy casual meal in the main dining room, The Venice Golf and Country Club professional kitchen and wait staff take pride in making sure every member receives special treatment every day. From the clubhouse, it is just a short walk to the junior Olympic heated pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, and sun terraces. No matter how cold the Florida nights are, you ll arise to find the pool temperature at a comfortable 85 degrees, just right for invigorating morning laps or water aerobics. The Fitness Center, located adjacent to the pool dining terrace and the lake at the 18 th green, offers state of the art equipment for use by all members without charge. An adjoining multi-use room is the center for yoga and fitness classes offered to all members for a nominal charge. Four Har-Tru courts and lounge are home to the very active Tennis Association. Here Recreational and Golf members are welcome to join the bi-weekly clinics, round robins and inter-club tournaments organized by the club s Tennis Professional. CLUB MANAGEMENT Elected by the membership, The Venice Golf and Country Club Board of Directors assumes responsibility for safeguarding the value of the Equity Memberships as well as overall administration of the golf and clubhouse facilities with the aide and assistance from Standing Committees comprised of members volunteering their business and expertise. The Board of Directors is also charged with making policy decisions and monitoring operations. The day to day operation of the club is overseen by the club General Manager and his professional staff: Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Director, Golf Superintendent, Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professionals, Executive Chef, and Controller. These key personnel are long standing employees whose first priority is to serve the membership.
