Motto: Quite impressive! Quite impressive : We will focus on the great things we scouts do, and what we are brilliant at. Every Point will consist of various offers, activities and services, and they have been named after the four elements that scouts use to impress. The Rover camp: There will be special emphasis on winter scouting in the Rovers Point. snø (snow) On the jamboree you can go to the different Points and learn, be challenged or experience something that relates to the element there. The campsite Where we will live We will settle in these fields, and build an impressive scout world. With 15,000 participants, it will actually be almost crowded, even though the campsite covers a large area. The site is a little hilly in places, but that is just another good opportunity to impress! The large road cutting through the site will be closed off during the camp. Park, beach and the monument Sverd i Fjell ( Swords in Rock ) The road Regimentsveien will be closed off and turned into a market. National Scout Jamboree in Stavanger July 6-13 2013

The site of the jamboree City center Pulpit Rock Campsite Airport Stavanger Stavanger is situated in the South- Western part of Norway. It is the fourth largest city in the country, with great opportunities for wonderful nature experiences nearby. The campsite is about 15 minutes from the airport and the city centre. The city is easily accessible by plane, boat, train or bus. The airport has direct flights to and from around 50 cities throughout Europe.

National Jamboree in Norway A typical Norwegian camp At a national jamboree in Norway, the scouts live in tents or shelters, and they cook and eat their meals in the group area. During the day, they are all out on activities, and sometime during the jamboree, they all go on a hike without leaders. In the evenings there are many optional activities around the campsite. All groups will get poles to use in building various constructions on their area. As the jamboree theme is Quite impressive, there will be a lot of fantastic woodcraft constructions. If the camp gets hot, a refreshing dip in the sea by the campsite may be tempting. National Scout Jamboree in Stavanger July 6-13 2013

The weather Warm and chilly The weather in Norway at this time of year can be both nice and warm, around 25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit), no wind and sunny, but it can also be chilly, down to 10 degrees (50 F), rainy and windy. It is important to bring clothes for different kinds of weather and temperatures. Since many of the activities involve trips in the breathtaking scenery around Stavanger, good shoes are especially important. Read more about the jamboree on

The Pulpit Rock Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) You will get the opportunity to come here on a day trip. The journey takes a couple of hours, and the plateau towers 604 meters over Lysefjorden. It was elected the world s most spectacular viewing point by Lonely Planet in 2011. National Scout Jamboree in Stavanger July 6-13 2013

The Programme Evening programme In the evenings, there will be exciting drop-in activities around the camp and in the market square. On the last day of the camp, there will be even more going on. Cooking There will be tasty, healthy and locally sourced food on the jamboree. Cooking is important in improving scouting skills and cooperation. The ceremonies The opening and closing shows will be grand and spectacular. Including local people from Stavanger, more than 20,000 will watch the shows Get ready for amazing experiences!

The Group Camp Contribution A part of the program The Group Camp Contribution is the scout group s contribution to the program activities during the Jamboree. It is an exchange program where each group one day during the camp will be prepared to host an activity for other patrols while their own patrols visit other groups. The day consists of two activity periods. National Scout Jamboree in Stavanger July 6-13 2013

How it works These are the rules : The scout group (or equivalent) must be able to host as many patrols as it brings to the camp itself. The activity should have the duration of approximately two hours. The activity will take place at the scout group s own camp area. If the activity requires another kind of site, it has to be cleared with the Program Office. The group will get visitors twice that day. Please feel free to use the same activity both times. The group decides what kind of activity it wants to offer to other Guides and Scouts. Equipment and tools The group must obtain all necessary tools and materials in advance. o The Camp Programme Office will be able to cover minor expenses for non-reusable materials (e.g. leather) within a maximum amount per patrol (not yet fixed). o Equipment like tools, axes etc. will not be financially supported. Normally this will be tools already in the groups possession. Some ideas to make your contribution quite impressive : o Use an activity that has been a success earlier with your own guides/scouts! o Maybe the activity represents something typical from your country/region? o You can teach the visiting patrols something they can boast about afterwards! o Some examples from earlier camps: rope-making, cooking, geocache, leatherwork, competitions, first aid, handicrafts, wood work, making a traditional toy/game, orienteering.

A lot to look forward to! Leadership training There will be offered a large variety of leadership training activities, and we hope all leaders and rovers will take the opportunity to improve their qualifications. Hike During the jamboree, all scouts will go on an overnight hike without leaders, and sleep out in the wilderness. This is also a great opportunity to get to know scouts from other countries. There will be a great number of hike routes, so the patrols will get the opportunity to be alone in nature. National Scout Jamboree in Stavanger July 6-13 2013
