5 Kit Fox Program 2016 The goal of the Kit Fox Program is to help our newest Scouts complete as many of the requirements for Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks as possible while attending a week of summer camp. In addition we want to ensure that our Scouts are well on their way toward their Eagle Scout rank by having participants complete both First Aid and * merit badges. Wednesday Thursday Friday 8:00 AM 8:30 AM Buddy System; Safe Hiking, Leave no Trace; Outdoor Code Lashings Knife Safety (Rotate) Shooting sports, Lake Maps and Compass; Pacing 9:30 AM Ropes and knots Lashing Ax Yard Safety (Rotate) Cope, Tower, Equestrian Orienteering Course 10:30 AM Ropes and knots Build a Camp Gadget Ranger Time Fire Safety Fire Building Competition 2:00 PM 3:00 PM *Scouts will either work on merit badge (blue swimmers) or have instruction swim (red and white swimmers). Requirement that Kit Fox Scouts will work on are as follows: Scout Rank: 1e, 4a, 4b, 5 Tenderfoot Rank: 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 5a, 5b, 5c, 7b Second Class Rank: 1b, 2b, 2c2f, 2g, 3a, 3d, 4, 5a, 5b (if blue swimmer) 5c, 5d, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e First Class Rank: 1b, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 4a, 5a, 6a, (blue swimmer) 6e, 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, 7e Participants in the Kit Fox Program will be divided up into patrols which will be led by the Kit Fox Staff with the assistance of other program areas in camp. While the Kit Fox staff will be the primary supervision for participants, they are not Scoutmasters and are thus unable to sign-off on Scouts handbooks for having completed the requirements. However, we want to be sure that adult leaders have confidence in the ability of their Scout. As such we ask that at least one adult from each troop attend at least one hour of class each day to ensure that their Scouts are properly learning the skills.
