Place your document tface up in the scanner with the top of the document leading into the scanner as shown. Double click on the Omnipage Professional 16 icon located on the desktop as shown 3
The Omnipage Professional 16 program will start and you will see the following window 4
Step 1: Scan This drop down box controls how the document will scan, black and white, color, etc. You can chose black and white if your document has no color, or color if it does Step 2: Recognize This drop down box controls how the document will be setup, with columns, spreadsheet etc. We recommend you keep the setting at Automatic. Step 3: Save document This drop down box controls how the document will be saved, to a file, copied to clipboard, etc. We recommend you keep the setting at Save to Files 5
Once you have chosen the settings you would like to apply, click the 1 2 3 > button as shown below 6
Once your document begins scanning, Omnipage will attempt to proofread your document. You can hit close on the popup window that appears as shown below. 7
When your document has finished being run through the scanner, Omnipage will ask you if you wish to stop loading pages or add more pages. If you have no more pages to be scanned, click on Stop Loading Pages. If you still have more pages to be scanned, load them into the scanner and click on Add More Pages. 8
Once you click on Stop Loading Pages, a dialogue box will popup asking you to save your document. You have a number of options insavingyour document including MSWord XP/2003, MSWord 2007, and PDF among others. 9
After you have chosen which format you want to save your document in, locate where you would like to save your document. If you have brought a USB thumb drive, then save your document there. Give your document a name and click on OK. 10
Your document is now saved. Minimize Omnipage by clicking on the dash in the upper right hand corner as shown. Then open your saved document and make sure that the document was scanned correctly. After checking your document and everything is OK, close your document and Omnipage by clicking on the red X at the top right corner as shown. 11
Omnipage will ask if you want to save your document. You can click No since you have already saved your document. DON T FORGET TO PICK UP YOUR ORIGINALS FROM THE SCANNER!!! 12

If a paper jam has occurred, Omnipage will stop with an error message and the scanner will also be stopped. Click OK and then do not click on the next message box that appears. 14
To clear the jam, life up on the scanner as shown below. 15
Once you have lifted up the cover, clear the jam and smooth out any wrinkles in the paper and place the paper back on the top of the stack. Then push down on the top cover to close it as shown below. 16
Click Add More Pages on the dialogue box in Omnipage that appeared earlier. Scanning will now continue normally. 17
How to scan double sided documents Click on the gear icon button in Omnipage as shown below. 18
Now click on the Scanner tab as shown below 19
Click on the box that says Scan double sided pages so that the box has a checkmark in it as shown below. 20
Click on OK and you are ready to scan your document normally. When you are done scanning your document, please remember to uncheck the Scan double sided d pages box before bf closing the program. 21
When you start scanning your document, you may notice extra blank pages being added to your document. Follow these steps to stop this from happening. If your document is still scanning then click the Power button as shown below. If your document has finished scanning already, skip to page 24. 22
Remove your document from the scanner so that the scanner has no paper in it. 23
Close your current document by clicking on File and then Close as shown below and then click on No when Omnipage asks you to save. 24
Click on the blank page icon in the top left as shown below to create a new workflow 25
Click on the gear icon button in Omnipage as shown below. 26
Now click on the Scanner tab as shown below 27
Click on the checkmark in the bottom left of the window that says Scan double sided pages to clear the checkmark in the box. 28
Click on OK to exit the window and you can now begin scanning your document normally. 29
