Complete Fundamentals of Enforcement and Multi-Media Enforcement training Certifications within one (1) year FULL JOB DESCRIPTION: DEPUTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL OFFICER DEFINITION Under administrative direction, to assist with planning, organizing, directing, and managing the Air Quality Protection Program for the Lake County Air Basin; to enforce state, federal, and local laws, ordinances, and programs regarding regulated sources, emissions testing, and ambient air monitoring; to develop and implement Air Quality ordinances and policies; to plan, organize, and complete emission control and impact analysis projects; to perform special assignments as directed from the Air Pollution Control Officer; to serve as the Air Pollution Control Officer in the absence of the Air Pollution Control Officer; and to do related work as required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is a single-position management classification, which has responsibility for assisting with the management of the functions and operations of the Air Quality Protection Program, as well as performing a wide variety of the most complex air quality monitoring and emission control testing, monitoring, analysis, and enforcement work. Incumbent in this position may be the lead person for meteorological related assessments and forecasts, utilizes computer models provided in trend analysis and impact quantification. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Vacation 80 hours per year during the first five years of service, 120 hours per year after five years, and additional accruals based on years of service beyond fifteen years..
