Honors Recommendations Recommendations are made by the 8 th grade teachers based upon the student s demonstrated ability in the subject and standardized test scores. Questions regarding these recommendations should be directed first towards the teacher.

Types of NYS Diplomas Regents Diploma new 4+1 pathway to graduation option Students must pass one Regents exam in each of the following subject areas: (1) English (1) social studies (1) math (1) science = (4) Plus 1 additional, comparably rigorous, state approved assessment for the 5 th examination required for graduation. Currently, approved assessments include 1 additional Regents exam passed in social studies, math, or science. More information to follow.

Interscholastic Athletics Tryouts begin BEFORE school starts. Check the website for dates. Fall sports coaches will announce and conduct meetings at OMS for interested students entering 9 th grade this coming June. Physical Education Program FITNESS FOR LIFE Freshman Only~ Mandatory Following the NYS Learning Standards for Physical Education, based on instruction and assessments of personal fitness, students will learn the value and benefits of lifelong physical activity by: Making informed decisions regarding activity & personal fitness.
