1 OVERVIEW TASER International, Inc. (TASER) has developed a mobile application (app) that allows officers to upload evidence from their smartphones. Using this EVIDENCE Mobile app, officers can: Capture audio recordings, videos, and photos; Tag evidence with GPS coordinates, add a Title, an ID and a Category; and Upload audio recordings, videos, and photos that were recorded with the app or saved on their smartphones to EVIDENCE.com over a data connection or Wi-Fi. Please contact TASER Customer Service (EvidenceHelp@taser.com) if you have any feedback or experience any issues. 2 EVIDENCE MOBILE APPLICATION By using the EVIDENCE Mobile app, officers can take photos, video, and audio recordings with their smartphones and upload it to their EVIDENCE.com accounts over a data connection or Wi-Fi. The recorded evidence is stored on the smartphone. However, there is a Setting within the EVIDENCE Mobile app that allows officers to configure the app to delete evidence from the phone once it has been uploaded successfully to EVIDENCE.com. Note: This app is currently available only for Android (version 2.2 or later) smartphones. The ios version for iphone devices is set to be released later in 2013. This app will not work with the EVIDENCE.com Lite services. Note: This app is a different product than the AXON Mobile app. 2.1 INSTALLATION TASER has released the EVIDENCE Mobile app for Android to the Google Play Store. To use the latest version, download and install it from the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone using the instructions listed below. Installation Instructions for new users: 1. Ensure that you have an EVIDENCE.com account. Note: Please contact you agency s EVIDENCE.com administrator if you do not have an account. 2. Open the Google Play Store on your Android smartphone. 3. Search for Evidence Mobile. 4. Choose Evidence Mobile under Apps from the search results. 5. Choose Install. 6. On successful installation, you can browse within your phone applications for Evidence Mobile. TASER International, Inc. Page 2 of 11

7. After you locate it, launch the application. See Screen 1 below. 8. Enter your EVIDENCE.com Username and Password and tap Submit to sign in to your account. See Screen 2 below. Screen 1 Screen 2 The following sections decribe how to use the EVIDENCE Mobile app to capture evidence, which you can then upload to your EVIDENCE.com account where you can edit it. 2.2 EVIDENCE CAPTURE Tap the EVIDENCE Mobile app icon on your smartphone screen to open it. Note: Ensure that you have signed in to your EVIDENCE.com account. Capture Media 1. The Capture Media screen will be displayed. 2. From here you can capture Audio recordings, Photos, and Videos using your smartphone. 3. You can edit ID, title, and category from within the app. GPS coordinates are automatically attached to evidence as long as Automatic GPS Tagging option is enabled in the app s Settings menu. 4. You can also Import Evidence (audio, photos, and videos) from outside the app even if they were captured with another program but have been saved on the phone. Once they are imported, you can edit the ID, title, and category, as well as upload and playback these files. The files will be retained in their respective locations when imported. 5. You can also view the Evidence List that displays all the list of evidence uploaded (or pending upload) to EVIDENCE.com. 6. You can view and playback previously captured evidence. 2.2.1 RECORD AUDIO 1. Tap the Audio icon [ ] to record audio. 2. The recording screen will be displayed. 3. Tap the round red record button to begin your audio recording. See Screen 1 below. 4. Once you begin recording, the Date and Time will be displayed. See Screen 2 below. 5. After you are done, tap the square red button to stop the recording. See Screen 2 below. 6. You can preview the recording before saving it by tapping the play button. If you re satisfied, tap the Save button. See Screen 3 below. 7. The ID, Category, and Title screen will be displayed. Enter appropriate ID and Title values, select a Category from the Categories dropdown options, and tap the Save button to save the audio recording to your smartphone. See Screens 4 and 5 below. Audio Recording Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 Screen 4 Screen 5 2.2.2 CLICK PHOTOS 1. Tap the Camera icon [ ] to click a picture. 2. The smartphone camera will open. Click a picture. See Screen 1 below. 3. You can preview the picture and tap the Save button if you re satisfied if not, tap the Discard button to erase this picture and click a new one. See Screen 2 below. 4. Once you tap Save, the picture will be saved to your phone s picture gallery. Then you can either click another picture, edit the recently saved picture, or go to the evidence list. See Screen 3 below. 5. If you tap Edit, you can add ID, Category, and Title to the picture. See Screen 4 below. 6. The ID, Category, and Title screen will be displayed. Enter appropriate ID and Title values, select a Category from the Categories dropdown options, and tap the Save button to save the picture to your smartphone. See Screens 5 and 6 below. Note: The Date and Time stamps are automatically generated for each photo. 7. If you tap Take Another Picture (on Screen 3), the most recently clicked picture would get automatically saved without Title or ID and the smartphone camera would open again. 8. If you tap View Evidence List (on Screen 3), all evidence currently saved, i.e., photos, audio, and video recordings will be displayed. See Screen 7 below. 2.2.3 RECORD VIDEO 1. Tap the Video icon [ ] to record a video. 2. The smartphone video recorder (camcorder) will open. Record a video. See Screen 1 below. 3. You can preview the video recording and tap the Save button if you re satisfied if not, tap the Discard button to record a new video. See Screen 2 below. 4. Once you tap Save, the ID, Category, and Title screen will be displayed. Enter appropriate ID and Title values, select a Category from the Categories dropdown options, and tap the Save button to save the video recording to your smartphone. See Screens 3 and 4 below. 5. Once saved, the Capture Media screen will be displayed. See Screen 5 below. Note: The evidence upload process is described later in this document. 2.3 EVIDENCE UPLOAD You can view all the recorded evidence and upload it to your EVIDENCE.com account in a few steps. 2.3.1 VIEW & UPLOAD EVIDENCE 1. Tap Evidence List to view a list of all your recorded evidence and their status. See Screen 1 below. 2. You will see all your recorded and saved evidence i.e. photos, videos, and audio recordings. See Screen 2 below. 3. Tap the check-box(es) next to the file that you want to upload to your EVIDENCE.com account and tap the Upload button. See Screen 3 below. 4. Similarly you can remove evidence from this list or edit ID, Category, and Title by selecting evidence and tapping the Remove or Bulk Edit buttons (if you do bulk edit then the ID and Category changes will be applied to all the selected files). Note: If you tap Remove, the evidence will be permanenetly deleted from the smartphone. It is recommended that you remove the evidence only after you have uploaded it your EVIDENCE.com account. 5. You can also tap the Select All button and then tap the Upload button to select and upload all of the evidence sequentially to your EVIDENCE.com account. 6. At any time you can cancel uploads while in progress or while queued for upload by tapping the corresponding Cancel button. See Screen 4 below. 7. You can sort your evidence (pending upload) based on video, photo, or audio types by tapping the corresponding icons [ ]. See Screens 5, 6 and 7 below. 8. Tap the message icon [ ] to view evidence that has been successfully uploaded to your EVIDENCE.com account. You can then remove that evidence from your smartphone. See Screen 8 below. 9. At any time you can import more files for upload by tapping the Import button. Refer to section 2.3.2 below. Note: At any time, you can remove the imported evidence from the app. However, it will still be accessible from its original source. View List and Upload Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 Note: Uploads for file sizes greater than 5 MB can be resumed if the upload process was terminated either due to a loss in Internet connectivity or an application error. Tap the Import Evidence icon [ ] to import evidence that was not recorded using the EVIDENCE Mobile app but is saved on the smartphone. See Screen 1 below. 2. You will be prompted to select the type of evidence (Audio, Video, or Photo) you want to import. See Screen 2 below. 3. You can then select the location from where you want to import the file. Tap the Set as default checkbox if you want to import the files from the same location each time. See Screen 3 below. For example, to import a video saved on your smartphone, select the video from the list by tapping Pick (the term may be different depending on your smartphone model). See Screen 4 below. 4. The selected file will be automatically added to the Evidence List (All Pending Upload). You can then select and upload it as described in 2.3.1 above. See Screen 5 below. TASER International, Inc. Import Evidence Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 Screen 4 Screen 5 2.3.3 SETTINGS 1. Press the settings button [ ] of your smartphone to view more options in the EVIDENCE Mobile app. See Screen 1 below. Note: The button icon may vary depending on your phone model. 2. Tap the About [ ] icon to view the app version number. See Screen 2 below. Tap the return button [ ] of your smartphone to get back to app screen. 3. Tap the Sign Out [ ] icon to log out of your EVIDENCE.com account. See Screen 1 below. 4. Tap the Force Close [ ] icon to shutdown the app. See Screen 1 below. 5. Tap the Settings [ ] icon to view and manage the app settings. See Screens 1 and 3 below. 6. You can manage (select) the Settings based on your agency s policies: Automatic GPS Tagging: Associates evidence capture via this app with GPS data. The GPS data requires that the user enable the GPS on the smartphone. ID Prefix: A prefix that will be automatically pre-populated in the Evidence Edit screen for the user s convenience. Enter a prefix and tap OK to save it. See Screens 3 and 4 below. TASER International, Inc. Page 9 of 11

Require PIN: Allows the user to designate a four-digit PIN code to view the Evidence List screen. Tap the Require PIN checkbox. Read the Disclaimer and tap OK to continue. Enter a four-digit PIN and tap Submit to save it. See Screens 5 and 6 below. Delete After Upload: Selecting this checkbox will automatically delete any evidence from the user s smartphone once the upload has completed successfully. The evidence that was imported will not be deleted from its external location. See Screen 7 below. Network Upload Limit: The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded to EVIDENCE.com while using the Cellular Data network. This can be enabled by a user who uploads a lot of evidence via the mobile network and wants to set a size limit. See Screen 8 below. 7.
