November, 2015 Dear Destination Imagination community, I'm happy being able to officially invite you to the 2016 DI Poland Tournament, which will take place from 1 st to 3 th April in Wrocław. Here you ll have the opportunity to meet hundred Teams from Poland but also those from all over the world. Last year we hosted DI Teams from China, Germany, Israel, Ukraine, USA, Singapore and Turkey. We will be honored to welcome you at our 2016 Tournament! During your stay at Wrocław, you'll have the opportunity to take part in an exciting DI competition, make many friends, and rest in comfortable conditions. All these factors make us hope that the tournament will be inspiring to you and your stay in Wrocław will bring you many positive memories. THE ORGANIZATION OF THE TOURNAMENT Date: April, 1 th - 3 th Location: Wrocław Congress Center/Orbita Hall Housing: Groups will stay at a three stars hotel in Wrocław with breakfast and dinner Campanile Wrocław Centrum Participants: About 250 Teams from Poland and International Teams Levels: RS, EL, ML, SL, UL SCHEDULE From 29 th to 31 th of March there is a special package of city tours for International Teams planned. Day 1 (Tuesday, March, 29 th ): Afternoon/ evening: Check-in for International Teams, time for taking a rest. Day 2 (Wednesday, March, 30 th ): Check-in for International Teams. Time for sightseeing for International Teams. Day 3 (Thursday, March, 31 th ): Check-in for International Teams. Time for sightseeing for International Teams. Day 4 (Friday, April, 1 st ): Check-in for International Teams. Time for sightseeing for International Teams. Registration for all Teams. Opening Ceremony. Day 5 (Saturday, April, 2 nd ): Presentation of Team Challenges/ Instant Challenges. Buddy Team Challenge. Surprise and party for all Teams. Day 6 (Sunday, April, 3 rd ): Presentation of Team Challenges/ Instant Challenges. Celebration for Teams and TMs. Closing Ceremony (in the evening). Day 7 (Monday, April, 4 th ): Check-out for all Teams (after breakfast). If your are unable to fit in presented schedule because of your potential flight days, please let us know.
Registration Package Total packet (Tuesday- Monday) cost is 540 $ (USD); 90$ per person/per night for International Teams. This cost includes tournament fees, housing, full meals (three times each day) and transport. We provide an english- language Group Leader for each International Team throughout the event duration. Special Events The Opening Ceremony will officially begin our event, while during Closing Ceremony we are going to award diplomas and trophies to each winning Team, as well as special awards. Saturday evening, we invite you to take part in Buddy Team Challenge and After Party. We also encourage you to take part in the tradition of pin trading. This well-known activity in DI community is great way to gain souvenirs and make new friends. Buddy Teams Throughout the Tournament days there will be many opportunities for you and your Buddy Team to bond: you could share a meal, attend a special event as a group Buddy Team Challenge, cheer for them at their Team Challenge Presentation. We suggest your Team to bring your Buddy Team a small gift that represents your country. Items from your town, school or any other creative gifts will be perfect! You will receive a contact to your Buddy Team two weeks before the Tournament to have time to contact and introduce yourself. Housing The DI Tournament will be held in Wrocław, which is one of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Poland. Located on a picturesque confluence of Odra river, gives the opportunity for amazing River Trips. All International Teams and many of polish Teams will be accommodated in a three stars hotel Campanile Wrocław Centrum.
Airport Transfer The Wrocław Nicolaus Copernicus Airport is located in the south-west part of Wrocław, about 10 km away from the city centre. We provide an airport transfer (round-trip) for all International Teams. City Tours There is a special package of City Tours prepared for International Teams. They can choose one or more days to spend with Wrocław`s and its neighbourhood most attractive places. Option 1 - The History of the City and Cultural Day (70 $ per person) The Market Square with The Dwarves City Tour The National Forum of Music Odra River cruise District of Mutual Respect (optional) Option 2 - The Creative Day (70 $ per person) Hydropolis Gardens of Experiences Humanitarium Wrocław Technology Park Option 3 - The Entertainment Day (70 $ per person) The Wrocław ZOO Bowling Sky Tower City View Shopping An advanced version of each package will be available for Teams that will be willing to visit Wrocław and polish Tournament for the second time.
The Market Square covers almost 3.8 hectare and is included on the list on the list of the largest old market sites in Poland (larger market squares are located in Krakow and Olecko only). The late Gothic City Hall with its 66- metre tower is the highest building of this type in the country. The Dwarfs City Tour Dwarfs are small figurines that first appeared in the streets of Wrocław (Poland) in 2001. Since then their number have been continually growing and today they are considered as a tourist attraction: those who would like to combine sight- seeing in Wrocław with dwarf-tracking are offered special brochures with map and mobile application software on the smartphone. Currently (2015) there are over 300 dwarfs spread all over the city.
District of Mutual Respect The District of Mutual Respect, the anomalous area includes three churches - Lutheran, Orthodox and Roman Catholic - and a Jewish synagogue almost side-byside in a short crescent curling along the promenade where the city s defensive fortifications once stood. The Wroclaw ZOO It uses many historical buildings from the 19th century and adjusts them to modern standards. The Monkey House and the Butterfly House within the Terrarium facility are examples of such modernisation. The Africarium - complex of enclosures presenting different ecosystems of Dark Land's waters. Many aquariums, water tanks and basins will show us, among other, the Red Sea's coral reef, hippopotamuses, freshwater fish from Malawi and Tanganika lakes. The Odrarium - even though the ZOO might be associated with exotic animals, according to a Polish saying you praise the foreign not knowing of yours we wish to enrich the aquarium collection with a new, outdoor exhibition of native flora and fauna. The aim is to introduce the Oder (the Odra river) to its visitors.
Gardens of Experiences Humanitarium Humanitarium is an educational amusement park in Wroclaw. The park operates within the Pracze Campus area within the framework of EIT+ Wroclaw Research Center. It is an interactive exhibition about the human body, laws of Physics and ecology equipped with individual observation stands. Classes in botanical gardens and laboratories conducted by animators complement the exhibition.
Hydropolis Hydropolis - Eco Education Centre located in rebuild water reservoir offers above 60 interactive exhibitions that show the role of water in universe and human live. Sky Tower Is a skyscraper in Wrocław. Construction began in December 2007 with the demolition of the 24-story Poltegor structure, until then the tallest building in the city. Sky Tower is the tallest building in Poland in the category of height to roof and category of highest floor. On the 49th floor is a publicly accessible viewpoint.
