We are very glad to hear you have been selected and we are looking forward to meeting you in Budapest from December 8 to 12. The Tool Fair X will be a special event in The 10th edition of the Tool Fair continues with a concept which is well-known in the youth field, offering an exciting combination of laboratory and market to experience tools for learning. To make this event a very successful and enjoyable experience for you and for us as well, we have compiled this information guide. Here you can find all important information needed for your preparation. ABOUT TOOL FAIR X The concept Tool Fair X - Cross the line will offer chances to the participants to shape educational and experiential pathways, to run workshops to share tools for learning with colleagues from the international level as well as to participate in workshops held by others. However, beyond merely experiencing a wide variety of tools for learning, the Tool Fair aims to provide a space to reflect on tools, give and receive feedback and pave the way for their transferability and further development.

3 This way, the Tool Fair X aims to contribute not only to the learning outcomes of each individual participant but also to the quality of tools for learning and learning process at European level in coherence with the European Training Strategy. Aims and objectives The plans to provide more space for different sectors (youth, formal and non-formal educational and business) by creating a learning environment which is beneficial for each sector s representatives. The Aims of Tool Fair X are: to develop the quality and variety of Tools for Learning in the European Youth Field; to contribute to the educational and experiential pathway of each participant, particularly in relation to the competences of creating and using such tools; to contribute to the future direction of the Tools for Learning strategy, including the future of Tool Fairs; to celebrate the successes of ten years of Tool Fair activity. The organizers The project is organized by the Hungarian National Agency of Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme in cooperation with SALTO EuroMed Resource Centre, and the Italian, Maltese, German, Polish, French, Romanian and Turkish National Agencies of Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The National Agencies are responsible for the implementation of the permanent and decentralized actions of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. They are in charge of the complete life cycle of selected projects, from analyzing the grant request to monitoring projects on the spot. SALTO (Support, Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities) Youth Resource Centres (RC) provide training and cooperation opportunities aiming at quality improvement and recognition of non-formal learning. 4 Profile of the participants Participant of this event are experts from different sectors such as public and private who have created an educational tool and/or are willing to share and further develop their tools during the event. Tool Fair X. particularly directed at youth workers, such as trainers, facilitators, coaches working in the non-formal educational field, as well as youth policy makers or the representatives of formal education or business sector working with youth. Working language Working language of this training course will be English. Methodologies: Non-formal learning - Important feature of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme The programme provides important opportunities for you to learn new things, get ideas and experience. Therefore it is a key instrument for non-formal and informal learning in a European dimension. Non-formal learning refers to the learning which takes place outside formal educational curriculum. Non-formal learning activities involve people on a voluntary basis and are carefully planned, to foster the participants' personal, social and professional development. Youthpass Every person who takes part in an Eramus+ Youth in Action project is entitled to receive a Youthpass Certificate, which describes and validates the non-formal and informal learning experience and outcomes acquired during the project. Issuing a Youthpass Certificate supports learning processes within the Erasmus+ Youth in Action projects and enhances the quality of the projects. More information is available at:

5 THE VENUE The venue and the accommodation will be in Budapest in the European Youth Centre of Budapest. The Hungarian NA will provide full board and lodging for the duration of the event (additional days are at your own expense and need to be organized by yourself). TRAVEL INFORMATION Once selected - Participants should contact their National Agency (NA) or SALTO Resource Centres for travel arrangements Participants are required to take the cheapest means of transport (APEX, economy or tourist class). You can find more details about travel options on the webpage of the European Youth Centre: Planning your travel We will start the programme in the evening of 8th December 2015 in the European Youth Centre Budapest. This means, that you should schedule your arrival before 18h00 (CET), in order to be on time. Departure is on 12th December 2015, look for flights or trains that are in the morning or in the afternoon. In case your National Agency can prove that you need to stay an extra night due to the price of your tickets please contact toolfairx@ncsszi.hu.

6 If you arrive to Budapest by plane Public transport: There is also a possibility to take public transport. Please note that the centre is rather far from the airport and it takes app. an hour and a half. For public transport you need to buy tickets, one costs 350 HUF and valid for one way. From the airport: Bus no. 200E - to: Kőbánya-Kispest (final stop), 20 mins change to Metro 3 (blue line) - until Nyugati Pályaudvar (direction: Újpest); 12 stops, 20 mins change to bus no. 91 or 291 until Zivatar utca; 4 stops, 5-10 mins Cross the road, walk on downhill until you find Zivatar Street on your right. The Centre is further up the street to your left. More information about the public transport: Airport Minibus/Shuttle Bus From the Airport, take the Airport Minibus/Shuttle Bus. This is the easiest way to get to anywhere in Budapest from the airport. You can buy a return ticket (app HUF per person) at the Airport Minibus counter (arrivals area). Indicate the address of the European Youth Centre and wait until the driver of the minibus calls you. You can book the return minibus to the airport at the reception of the European Youth Centre (one day before your departure). More information about the Airport Minibus /Shuttle Bus: Taxi Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the airport. Please note that Főtaxi is the only taxi company that is allowed to wait at the departure/arrival exits of the airport. Főtaxi has fixed prices for transfer fares from the airport to

7 different zones of Budapest. The European Youth Centre is placed in zone 3. A one way travel costs 6500 HUF (=22 ). Take the bus no. 91 or 291 until Zivatar utca; 4 stops, 5-10 mins Cross the road, walk on downhill until you find Zivatar Street on your right. The Centre is further up the street to your left. Arrival at Keleti pályaudvar (Eastern railway station): Take the Metro 2 (red line) until Deák tér; 3 stops, 5 mins change to Metro 3 (blue line) until Nyugati pu (direction: Újpest); 2 stops, 5 mins change to bus no. 91 or 291 until Zivatar utca; 4 stops, 5-10 mins Cross the road, walk on downhill until you find Zivatar Street on your right. The Centre is further up the street to your left. Arrival at Déli pályaudvar (Southern railway station): Take the tram 61 until Széll Kálmán tér (direction: Hűvösvölgy); 1 stop, 5 mins Change to tram 4 or 6 until Mechwart liget; 2 stops, 5 mins From there you just need to cross the park and on the 2nd crossroad you will find EYCB.

8 PRACTICAL INFORMATION Time Zone Budapest is in the Central European time zone (CET). The weather December is one of the coldest months of the year in Budapest, Hungary. During this month, expect very cold weather conditions and a frosty biting wind. Snowfall is frequent but not that heavy. The days are shortest and the nights are longest at this time. The average daily temperature in December is no more than 1 C. Weather - check it out: Currency The Hungarian currency is Hungarian Forints. Exchanging foreign currency into Forints is possible in banks, official currency exchange offices and travel agencies. If you would like to exchange money, you can do it at railway stations or in bigger hubs. The official rates are about 310 Hungarian Forints (HUF) for 1 EUR. We advise you to exchange money at official exchange places (also at railway stations). 1 is between 310 and 320 HUF Electricity Hungary has the 220 Volt 2 pin electricity plus (like in mainland Europe) - bring adaptors if needed (and your chargers for mobile phones, cameras etc.

9 Insurance You are required to have your own health insurance (E111, EuroCross, etc). You might want to think about taking out travel insurance, for specific risks linked to travelling (damage to luggage, cancellations, etc). Contact your health insurance or travel agency for more details. Please contact your National Agency to find out if the cover your insurance costs.
