GETTING STARTED 1. DOWNLOAD FROM THE APP STORE OR GOOGLE PLAY The PicMonkey mobile app is available for iphone and Android phones. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play, or you can request a download link via text message on our mobile page. 2. OPEN THE APP AND START EDITING When you open the PicMonkey app, you ll see images from your phone s camera roll or photos. Tap an image to select, and you can immediately start editing. Here s a few tips for navigating the app: Zoom in/out by touching with two fingers and spreading them apart or pinching together. Rotate text and stickers by touching with two fingers and turning. After you ve zoomed in, use two fingers to pan across the image while preserving your zoom. Double-tap an image to instantly zoom fully in or out. 3. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SOPHISTICATED PHOTO EFFECTS We ve brought some of our standout features from our online photo editor to the mobile app, providing the expressive power you need to make pics you love. Try layering multiple effects for your own custom combo! Or use paint on/paint off to, say, turn your pic black and white except for one brilliant spot of color. FAQ 1. WHY DON T I SEE ALL THE FEATURES OF PICMONKEY.COM IN THE MOBILE APP? PicMonkey s mobile app is designed to give you all the features you want in a mobile app and nothing you don t. We know you re on the go when you re using your phone to edit photos, so all your favorite effects are there for you, with sliders to fine tune the look, and tools to paint them on exactly where you want them. Some tools, like Curves and Clone, are better for a true desktop experience, so we left them out. We knew Draw would be particularly fun on mobile, so we tricked it out to be super-responsive and delightful. We think we arrived at the Goldilocks-perfect combo. But we re innovation freaks, here at PicMonkey HQ. So we re already hard at work on new features to add to subsequent releases of the PicMonkey mobile app. Stay tuned; there s much, much more to come. 2. WHY PLAY IN SUCH A CROWDED SPACE? However, if you re feeling like you d like some more help, we ll never give you up or let you down: run around to our blog for a whole bunch of tips and tutorials. 6. HOW DO PAINT-ON EFFECTS WORK? To paint on an effect, first tap the effect you want to use. The effect immediately transforms your image, with a fade slider and brush and eraser buttons below it. Tap the paintbrush, and you ll be in paint mode; the effect will only appear where you paint it on with your fingertip. Tap the eraser when you want to paint off the effect from pecific areas. 7. HOW DO I ADD MULTIPLE EFFECTS AT ONCE? To apply multiple effects to a photo, tap the effect and tap the check mark in the upper right corner to accept changes. Tap the Effects button again, choose a new effect, and tap the checkmark to accept changes. Repeat until you have added all the photo effects you want. 8. I USED THIS APP TO EDIT AN IMAGE. HOW DO I GO BACK TO MAKE CHANGES? From the app s home screen, tap your PicMonkey album under Camera Roll/All Photos to add new effects, stickers, and text. Or you can add an image to Hub and open it later on PicMonkey.com. In both cases it will be flattened: you won t be able to change existing stickers or text, or undo any saved changes. If you want to be able to change text or stickers after saving, you can do so if you edit the image and save to Hub from PicMonkey.com
