Access to the fencing area will be subject to control by attendants. 3
Fencers in the fencing area are required to keep their equipment in a closed fencing bag at the end of the piste, and these must be removed straight away at the end of the match. All fencers and referees are required to be present: for the pools on the piste 10 minutes before the start of the bouts for tableau of 64 on the piste 15 minutes before the start of the bouts Attention: If it is possible, matches can start 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Competitions INDIVIDUAL The information will be displayed: At 3:00 p.m. on the evening before the competition: The list of fencers entered The FIE official ranking for the event The qualifying pools, including the timetable and piste numbers for each pool. Pools and preliminary integral direct elimination table The pools, which are published the evening before the competition, will not be changed except in extraordinary circumstances. The pools must be exclusively of 7, or 6 & 7 Among the fencers entered, the top 16 of the FIE rankings are exempt from the preliminary round. (art. o.31.3) In the case of one of the top 16 fencers entered not presenting him or herself at the event, their place in the tableau remains empty and the national federation of that fencer must pay the FIE a fine of 500. (art. 0.33.3) After the round of pools, the top 16 fencers classified in the rankings (cf. o.19) are exempt from the preliminary tableau. In the case of 2 or more fencers being ranked equally at 16 th place, these fencers must fight a barrage to 5 hits to determine who is placed in 16th place. (art. o.32.2) The remainder of the fencers qualifying from the pools will make up a preliminary integral direct elimination table. This will be based on the indices of the fencers in all the pools (in the case of a tie on indices, the fencers will be separated by drawing lots). This table, be it complete or incomplete, will be fenced until only 32 fencers remain. Confirmation of results It is the responsibility of the fencers to ensure that the results of the pools and their direct elimination fights are recorded correctly. To avoid any sort of error, the DT will publish the pool results and the list of qualifiers and eliminated fencers after the round of pools following the completion of all pools. The delegations have 5 minutes to submit any disputes. The tableau of direct elimination, with timetable and piste numbers will be displayed after the time of protest has expired. No calls will be made over the microphone for the pools and for the matches in the DE tableau for qualification or the tableau of 64 on the second day. Organization of the tableau of 32 through to the final TEAMS All fencers winning their matches in the tableau of 64 must go immediately to the weapons control in the call room. Special places indicated by barriers designated for coaches will be found on each colored piste. The coaches may not leave this area except during the minute break. A specific protocol will be applied from the table 32, 16 and 8. Fencers (dressed in full fencing attire) and volunteers will escort the referees from the call room to their respective pistes. The representative of the Weapon Control delivers the weapons in a fencing bag to volunteers who will join the fencers and referees when they are escorted to the colored pistes. Saturday 15 November 2:00 p.m. publication of the: - list of entered teams - official FIE ranking for the competition in question - direct elimination table of the team competition with schedules and pistes Organization of the tableau of 32 through to the final The first four teams will be placed in the direct elimination table according to the current official team ranking of the FIE (cf. o.86); the remaining ranked teams will be placed in the table by drawing of lots in pairs. All the teams who win their last matches in the tableau of 16 must go immediately to the weapons control in the call room. Special places indicated by barriers designated for teams will be found on each colored piste. The team members may not leave this area. A specific protocol will be applied from Table of 8. 5
The representative of the Weapon Control delivers the weapons in a fencing bag to volunteers who will deliver them to the colored pistes. PRESENTATION OF THE FINALISTS The 4 individual finalists will be presented on the final piste to the public before the start of the semi-finals with their fencing credentials. The team finalists (3rd place match and final) are presented to the public on the piste They will present themselves in full fencing attire, with a weapon in their hand. o They salute the public with the guard to their chin. o The referees of the final are presented as well. The awards ceremony will take place 5 minutes after the last final of the day.
