SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUNS A. Underline the singular nouns in each sentence. RETEACHING: A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea. A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or idea. Add s to form the plural of most nouns. Some plural nouns are irregular, and their spellings need to be memorized. 1. I opened the door and found the shoes, cap, and bat I needed for the game. 2. I headed down to the fields with my bat on my shoulder. 3. My friends were standing by the fence near the dugout. 4.
