A decrease in material gauge will reduce the overall typical weights. Please contact Benchmark Technical Services should further information be required. SYSTEM ATTACHMENT Benchmark HOC System A vertical mullion is attached to the face of the Karrier Panel at the required centres, secured using KSAFL6 fasteners. Adjustable clips (pre-assembled with rubber isolators attached) are installed onto the mullions and can slide up and down and once situated in the correct location are held in place using Hexagonal Headed M8 stainless steel set screws. The cassettes are located onto the clips using prefabricated hooks. Once in place, stainless steel selfdrilling screws are installed through the top flange of cassette to attach cassette to the vertical mullion to prevent movement in service. Tray Cassette Option Extruded aluminium track to BS1474 in 6063/T6 grade alloy is bonded to the tray cassette. Folded top edge of cassette secured to aluminium secondary rail system using self-drilling / self-tapping stainless steel coated screws. Extruded aluminium secondary rail system to BS1474 in 6063/T6 grade alloy. Coated black. Recessed Fix Option The Aluminium cassette is attached directly to the Karrier panel with rivets. Shingle The shingle cassettes interlock with one another. Stainless steel shingle clips hook on to the shingle cassette and are then riveted to the face of the Benchmark. Sealant tape is used to isolate the clip from the face of the Karrier panel and minimise rattle. Interlocking Plank Interlocking Plank Cassettes are fixed directly back to the Benchmark Karrier panel with rivets. Sealant tape is used to isolate the cassette from the face of the. STRUCTURAL LOAD/SPAN TABLE FOR KARRIER PANEL (To be checked against unfactored design wind-loads) Notes: 1. Values have been calculated using the limit state method in the European Recommendations for the Design of Sandwich Panels (ECCS document No.115 2001), taking imposed loads, temperature and creep into account. 2. For each value individual and combined load cases with appropriate load factors and temperatures have been considered. These are detailed under Structural Performance in Building Design Section. 3. The table is for dark coloured panels. 4. The following deflection limits have been used: Pressure Loading L/100 Suction Loading L/100 5. For intermediate values linear interpolation may be used. 6. The actual wind suction load resisted by the panel is dependent upon the number of fasteners used and material of the rail. The fastener calculation should be carried out in accordance with the appropriate standard. For further advice please contact Benchmark Envirocare Technical Services. 7. The allowable tolerance between bearing planes of adjacent supports is L/600, where L is the distance between supports. 8. Load span tables for spans outside of those shown are available from the Benchmark Technical Services department. PACKING AND STORAGE Aluminium Cassettes The cassettes are packed on a pallet with cardboard on top. Cardboard is also placed between each set of cassettes. A completed pack is wrapped in cardboard and wood is fixed around the top and sides. Packaging is completed by shrink wrapping the entire pallet in polythene. Protect Benchmark aluminium pallets during storage against rain, penetration of moisture and condensation. Avoid any condensation forming (e.g. when transporting cold cassettes to warmer rooms). Only pallets of identical size should be stacked. Store the pallets stacked one over the other (do not store panels standing vertically), with a maximum of 2 pallets of the same format stacked on top of each other (heavy pallets at the bottom).storage exceeding 6 months should be avoided, as it may become difficult to remove the protective foil. When stacking the cassettes nothing should be placed in-between them, as this could produce marks on the panels. The Benchmark s are stacked horizontally. Removable hot melt adhesive is laid between each panel. The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with polystyrene and timber packing and the entire pack is wrapped in polythene. To ensure panels remain in prime condition while stored onsite, the panels need to be stored in a safe, clean and trade free area. Personnel should not walk over packs. Store the panels on a slight slope ensuring any penetrating rainwater drains off and ensure regular inspection the panel packs. Should panel s need to be stored for a period of time in excess of 3 months, please contact Benchmark Technical Services. The number of panels in each pack depends on panel length and weight. Typical pack height is 1100mm (based on 100mm thick panel). Panels per pack Sea Freight Fully timber crated packs are available on projects requiring delivery by sea freight shipping, at additional cost. Alternatively, steel containers can be used. Special loading charges apply. HANDLING The pallets must be handled carefully during transport and unloading. Do not handle open pallets. Upon delivery the pallets must be examined for any damage due to moisture (panels that have become wet must be dried to avoid any spots or corrosion forming). Individual cassettes must be lifted off the pallet by two people holding all four corners and not drawn over each other. Carry the cassettes vertically. Wear gloves to avoid staining. To avoid possible reflection differences, it is recommended to install the panels in the same direction as marked on the protective peel-off-foil. Please note that should the protective foil partially come off during processing, dirtied edges can occur in the course of time. GUARANTEES & WARRANTIES Benchmark will provide external coating and product guarantees on an individual project basis. DELIVERY AND OFF- LOADING Transportation of Benchmark packs to site is by road transport (unless indicated otherwise). It is the customer s responsibility to check the site for restrictions (i.e. entrance to site, power lines etc.) and agree a storage area to be used, also to identify the correct type/methods of off-loading/hoisting facilities to be used i.e. crane, crane forks, lifting beam/ slings and airbags, forklift or specialist lifting equipment. Always check the current certification of the crane, crane forks, lifting beam, slings, forklift, or specialist lifting equipment prior to carrying out offloading/hoisting operation (i.e. with correct current SWL Certification).
