Any Internet user can access this part f the applicatin. 1.1 GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1.1 FORM INPUT FIELDS All frms f the applicatin can cntain the fllwing kind f input fields. 1.1.1.1 Text field Figure 1: Input field: Text field A text field can cntain the kind f data types defined in the table belw: Type Shrt Descriptin Sample value(s) Free text The text field allws the user t enter any character r number in any fficial language f the EU. The length f the data entered may be limited. An amunt is a number cntaining an integer part and a decimal part: Hell123 Amunt The decimal part must be cnstituted f 2 digits; After validatin, the left-padding zeres f the integer are nt displayed; The decimal part and the integer part must be separated by a dt (.); Cmma (,) is used fr thusands separatrs. Integer A psitive integer value. 4 Rate Year A rate is cmpsed f a main part and a decimal part separated by a dt (.). The main part and the decimal part are cmpsed f tw digits. 1.1.1.2 Date field A valid year is an integer value. Selecting anther item will autmatically unselect the first item. 1.1.2 REPEATABLE PARTS Sme sectins f the frms can be repeated several times. Such sectins cntain a + buttn, allwing the user t add an ccurrence f the sectin, and a - buttn (nt clickable if nly ne ccurrence is displayed), allwing the user t remve the last ccurrence f the sectin. 1.1.3 SPECIFIC KEYBOARD KEYS Figure 9: Repeatable part Backspace: when brwsing the applicatin, pressing n the backspace keybard key will nt g back a page. N actin will be perfrmed when pressing n the backspace keybard key; Enter: when filling a frm, pressing n the enter keybard key will nt save the frm. N actin will be perfrmed when pressing n the enter keybard key. 1.1.4 INFORMATION BOXES In rder t help the users t fill in the fields f the frms, sme infrmatin bxes are available fr sme specific fields. Fr such fields, a questin mark is displayed next t the label f the field as shwn in Figure 10: Infrmatin bx. By selecting a new value in the tlbar cmb bx, yu can change the number f rws t be displayed in ne result page. The user can als srt the list f data n specific clumn (nt available fr all clumns in all tables) by clicking n the clumn header. Clicking nce will srt the data by the clumn criterin in ascending rder and an up arrw will be displayed next t the label f the clumn header; Figure 13: List f items - Ascending srting n a specific clumn Clicking a secnd time will srt the data by the clumn criterin in descending rder (fr date) and a dwn arrw will be displayed next t the label f the clumn header; Figure 14: List f items - Descending srting n a specific clumn Clicking a third time times will remve the srting n the clumn and cme back t the default srting if there exists ne. Sme explanatins abut the aim and the behaviur f TEDB are displayed as well as tw links allwing the access t the main functinalities f the public applicatin: Search tax; Search refrm. 1.2 ANY INTERNET USER - DISSEMINATION INTERFACE The fllwing table lists the different actins that a user can perfrm in the Disseminatin sectin. The last clumn indicates the cases in which the actin shuld be perfrmed. Actin Details When t perfrm the actin? Search Tax Sectin 1.2.1 Search Refrm Sectin 1.2.2 A tax can be searched thrugh the search tl available in the public TEDBv2. A refrm can be searched thrugh the search tl available in the public TEDBv2. 1.2.1 SEARCH TAX Table 2: Disseminatin Interface - List f actins The user has clicked n the crrespnding link n the public interface hme page. The page displayed is divided in fur sectins allwing the user t filter the taxes: Simple Search, Advanced Search, Histric Search, and Member State selectin. When clicking n the Search buttn, the user sees all the taxes crrespnding t the search criteria previusly entered. 1.2.1.1 Search all If yu leave all fields empty and click n the Search buttn, a full search is perfrmed. As a result, the prcess displays all published taxes. 1.2.1.2 Simple search This frame includes nly ne text bx: Keywrd. Enter the term yu want t find and click n the Search buttn. Text based search Figure 16: Search tax: Simple Search The simple search is a free text based search. This means that: Any characters are allwed. Hwever, the characters? and * have special usage.? matches ne character except white spaces; * matches ne r several characters except white spaces. The search engine will match exact wrds. Fr example, search n cme will retrieve all exact wrds cme but it will nt retrieve wrds including cme as a part f themselves like incme r becme. Page 9 f 26

The cntent f the field value is analysed in rder t determine if the entry matches the required frmat: Fr text field, n restrictin is defined; Fr a date, the frmat shuld be (YYYY/MM/DD), therwise the date is cnsidered as invalid; Fr integer numeric field, the value shuld nly cntain numeric characters [0..9]; Fr decimal numeric field, the value shuld nly cntain numeric characters [0..9] and the decimal separatr (.); Fr predefined values, n restrictin is defined. A new advanced search criterin appears T remve a search criterin, click n the - buttn. The last criterin disappears. Nte: Yu can cmbine a maximum f three advanced search criteria in a single query with "AND" and/r "OR" lgical peratr. These peratrs have the same precedence. That means the evaluatin f the expressin: crit1 OR crit2 AND crit3 is equals t (crit1 OR crit2) AND crit3 1.2.1.4 Histric search This frame allws entering tw date fields in the Frm and T fields. The search prcess returns all the taxes having its versin date cntained after the Frm date and befre the T date entered. If n date is entered in ne (bth) field(s), the search prcess ignres this (these) cnstraint(s). Figure 20: Search tax: Histric Search 1.2.1.5 Member States selectin Figure 21: Search Tax: Member State selectin In rder t limit the search results t taxes published by a subset f MSs, yu can select them individually r use the Check/Uncheck all Member States and Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eurzne check bxes. REF: Errr! Unknwn dcument prperty 1.2.1.5.1 Check/Uncheck all Member States If yu select (unselect) the Check/Uncheck all Member States check bx, all listed cuntries are selected (unselected). Yur selectin is editable, thus yu can refine the selected cuntries if yu want. 1.2.1.5.2 Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eur zne If yu select (unselect) the Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eurzne check bx, all eur zne cuntries (i.e. the MSs fllwed by the (Eur) text) are selected (unselected). Yur selectin is editable, thus yu can refine the selected cuntries if yu want. 1.2.1.6 Cmbine search criteria The fur search frames can be cmbined independently with each ther. This is useful fr example t refine a simple search in rder t reduce the result and find easily the tax yu want. The cmbinatin is perfrmed with a lgical "AND" peratr between the fur sectins. 1.2.1.7 View Search results After clicking n the Search buttn, the user is autmatically redirected t the search result page. This page displays a table cntaining all taxes matching the prvided search criteria. Depending n the prvided criteria, the cntent f the results list is adapted as described in the fllwing sectins. The taxes displayed in the table are srted by default n the Versin date clumn in descending rder. 1.2.1.7.1 Standard search result list If n advanced search criteria have been entered in the search, the results f the tax search are displayed in a table cntaining fur clumns: Check bxes clumns used t select multiple taxes; Tax name: the name f the tax; Member State: the MS the tax is applied in; Versin date: Date f the latest versin f the tax. Figure 22: Search Tax: Standard search results list. 1.2.1.7.2 Advanced search result list If yu specified advanced search criteria in the search, the results f the tax search are displayed in a table cntaining the fur clumns described in previus sectin and ne clumn fr each specific field n which an advanced search criterin was entered. She/He will be autmatically redirected t the tax search page with all search fields empty. 1.2.1.7.3.2 Exprt Search results The user can exprt the retrieved taxes int a CSV frmat file by clicking n the Exprt Results buttn. The CSV file cntains the same clumns as the nes displayed n the screen f the user. Depending n the Internet brwser used, a specific pp-up appears allwing the user t: Open the exprted file directly; Save the file n her/his lcal file system; Cancel the actin. Page 17 f 26

It cnsists in a cmbbx cntaining the tw fllwing items: Highlights: all ccurrences f the prvided keywrd are highlighted in the selected tax details screen; Links: fr all ccurrences f the prvided keywrd, a hyperlink is added abve the tax details in the selected tax details screen. A click n this link will scrll the screen t the text including this keywrd. The fllwing figures illustrate the view f taxes frm a query including a keywrd #002. The page displayed is divided in 2 frames allwing the user t filter the refrms: Simple Search and Member State selectin. When clicking n the Search buttn, the user sees all the refrms crrespnding t the search criteria previusly entered. 1.2.2.1 Search all If yu leave all fields empty and click n the Search buttn, a full search is perfrmed. As a result, the prcess dispays all published refrms. 1.2.2.2 Simple search This frame includes the tw fllwing fields allwing filtering the refrms: Refrm Name: the name f the refrm t find. Measure Name: the name f the measure assciated with the refrm t find. The user can enter the term she/he wants t find (r nt) and click n the Search buttn. Nte: A measure is assciated t ne and nly ne refrm. A refrm can be assciated t ne r mre measure(s). Nature f the field The Refrm Name and Measure Name fields accept input f Free text data type. The refrm search n free text means: Any characters are allwed. Hwever, the characters? and * have special use.? matches any character except white spaces exactly ne time. * matches any character except white spaces zer r mre times. The search engine is nt limited t exact wrds. Fr example, search n cme will retrieve all wrds including cme as a part f themselves like incme r becme. Page 21 f 26

There is als n synnyms dictinary. That means a search n car wrd nly perfrm the search n car wrd and nt n vehicle wrd. Available peratrs The Refrm Name peratr and Measure Name peratr fields accept the Cntains and Des nt cntain peratrs. Validatin f field value When yu click n the Search buttn, a validatin prcess is autmatically triggered. The cntent f each field value is analysed in rder t determine if the entry matches the required frmat. As all criteria f the frm are related t Free Text values, n restrictin is defined fr the input. Criteria cmbinatin Yu can cmbine simple search criteria in a single query. In this case, a lgical AND peratr is applied between bth criteria. 1.2.2.3 Member States selectin Figure 34: Search a Refrm: member state list In rder t limit the search results t refrms published by a subset f MSs, yu can select them individually r use the Check/Uncheck all Member States and Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eurzne check bxes. 1.2.2.3.1 Check/Uncheck all Member States If yu select (unselect) the Check/Uncheck all Member States check bx, all listed cuntries are selected (unselected). Yur selectin is editable, thus yu can refine the selected cuntries if yu want. 1.2.2.3.2 Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eur zne If yu select (unselect) the Check/Uncheck all Member States in the eurzne check bx, all eur zne cuntries (i.e. the MSs fllwed by the (Eur) text) are selected (unselected). Yur selectin is editable, thus yu can refine the selected cuntries if yu want. 1.2.2.4 Cmbine search criteria The tw search frames can be cmbined independently with each ther. This is useful fr example t refine a simple search in rder t reduce the result and find easily the refrm yu want. The cmbinatin is perfrmed with a lgical "AND" peratr between the tw sectins. 1.2.2.5 View Search results After clicking n the Search buttn, the user is autmatically redirected t the search result page. She/He will be autmatically redirected t the refrm search page with all search fields empty. 1.2.2.5.2.2 Exprt Search results The user can exprt the retrieved refrms int a CSV frmat file by clicking n the Exprt Results buttn. The CSV file cntains the same clumns as the nes displayed n the screen f the user. Depending n the Internet brwser used, a specific pp-up appears allwing the user t: Open the exprted file directly; Save the file n her/his lcal file system; Cancel the actin. Page 23 f 26
