Hook Norton Day Centre 1 day per week, 16 per session (Hook Norton). The Hook Norton Day Centre is open to local elderly people and operates every Monday (except public holidays) from 1000hrs 1500hrs in the Hook Norton Baptist Church Hall. Members either walk or are transported by their families or volunteer drivers to the Hall, where they are given a welcoming cup of tea/coffee and biscuits. After a morning of conversation with other members and volunteers, a freshly prepared lunch is served. During the afternoon there is always some form of entertainment a singalong, bingo, games Baptist Church Hall, Netting Street, Hook Norton, OX15 and films provided by Age Concern in Banbury, an illustrated talk and sometimes a 5NJ visit by a representative of the Oxfordshire Museum who brings interesting artefacts for discussion. Local musicians sometimes provide music for the members and children from the Hook Norton school visit us and entertain us with music or drama. Twice a year there is an outing in the summer for lunch at a local beauty spot or garden centre and at Christmastime, a festive lunch at a nearby restaurant. The members are also invited to attend the annual Christmas production at the school. Before returning to their homes, the members are given tea/coffee and cake.
