Launch Internet Explorer 9 2. Clear your IE9 page cache if you have experienced a database access failure 3. In the upper right corner of IE9, click on the gear icon (see Figure 1a) 4. In the menu that appears, click on Internet Options (see Figure 1a) 5. IE9 will open the Internet Options window 6. In the Internet Options window, click on the Connections tab at the top (see Figure 1b) 7. At the bottom of the Connections tab, click on the LAN Settings button. (see Figure 1b) 8. IE9 will open the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window 9. In the LAN Settings window, check the box next to Use automatic configuration script (see Figure 2a) 10. In the Address box underneath Use automatic configuration script, put in https://iodine.tjhsst.edu/www/proxy.pac (see Figure 2a) 1

11. Click the OK button at the bottom of the LAN Settings window, then click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet Options window 12. Go to the webpage http://www.tjhsst.edu/research-academics/library/databases.html 13. Click on the name of the database you wish to access 14. IE9 will bring up the Windows Security password prompt. 15. In the username field, enter LOCAL\<yourusername> eg. LOCAL\2013awilliam and in the password field enter your TJ Password; the one you use to log in to Iodine. (see Figure 2b) 16. Click the OK button on the password prompt 17. Clear your Firefox page cache if you have experienced a database access failure 3. In the upper left corner of Firefox, click on the Firefox menu (see Figure 5a) 4. In the menu that appears, click on Options button (see Figure 5a) 5. Firefox will open the Options window 6. In the Options window, click on the Advanced tab at the top; then click on the Network tab that appears below it (see Figure 5b) 7. At the top of the Network tab, click on the Settings button in the Connections section (see Figure 5b) 8. Firefox will open the Connection Settings window 9. In the Connection Settings window, check the radio button next to Automatic proxy configuration URL (see Figure 6a) 10. In the address box underneath Automatic proxy configuration URL, put in https://iodine.tjhsst.edu/www/proxy.pac (see Figure 4a) 11. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Connection Settings window, then click the OK button at the bottom of the Options window 12. Go to the webpage http://www.tjhsst.edu/research-academics/library/databases.html 13. Click on the name of the database you wish to access 14. Firefox will bring up the Authentication Required password prompt. 3

15. In the username field, enter <yourusername> eg. 2013awilliam and in the password field enter your TJ Password; the one you use to log in to Iodine. (see Figure 6b) 16. In the menu that appears, click on Preferences button (see Figure 7a) 5. Firefox will open the Preferences window 6. In the Preferences window, click on the Advanced tab at the top; then click on the Network tab that appears below it (see Figure 7b) 7. At the top of the Network tab, click on the Settings button in the Connections section (see Figure 7b) 8. Firefox will open the Connection Settings window 9. In the Connection Settings window, check the radio button next to Automatic proxy configuration URL (see Figure 8a) 10. In the address box underneath Automatic proxy configuration URL, put in https://iodine.tjhsst.edu/www/proxy.pac (see Figure 8a) 11. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Connection Settings window, then click the red X button in the upper left corner of the Preferences window 12. Clear your Safari page cache if you have experienced a database access failure 3. In the upper left corner, click on the Safari menu (see Figure 9a) 4. In the menu that appears, click on Preferences (see Figure 9a) 5. Safari will open the Preferences window 6. in the Preferences window, click on the Advanced tab at the top (see Figure 9b) 7. At the bottom of the Advanced tab, click on the Change Setttings... button in the Proxies section (see Figure 9b) 8. Safari will open the Proxies windows 9. In the Proxies window, check the box next to Automatic Proxy Configuration (see Figure 10a) 10. In the URL box on the right, put in https://iodine.tjhsst.edu/www/proxy.pac (see Figure 10a) 11. Click on the OK button at the bottom of the Proxies window, then click the red X button in the upper left hand corner of the Advanced window. 12. Go to the webpage http://www.tjhsst.edu/research-academics/library/databases.html 13. Click on the name of the database you wish to access 14. Safari will bring up the Safari password prompt. 15. In the username field, enter <yourusername> eg. 2013awilliam and in the password field enter your TJ Password; the one you use to log in to Iodine. (see Figure 10b) 7

6. In the Options tab, click on the Under the Hood tab on the left (see Figure 11b) 7. At the bottom of the Under the Hood tab, click on the Change proxy settings button in the Network section (see Figure 11b) 8. Chrome will open the Internet Options window 9. At the bottom of the Connections tab, click on the LAN Settings button. (see Figure 12a) 10. Chrome will open the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window 11. In the LAN Settings window, check the box next to Use automatic configuration script (see Figure 12b) 12. At the bottom of the Under the Hood tab, click on the Change proxy settings button in the Network section (see Figure 13b) 8. Chrome will open the Proxies windows 9. In the Proxies window, check the box next to Automatic Proxy Configuration (see Figure 14a) 10. In the URL box on the right, put in https://iodine.tjhsst.edu/www/proxy.pac (see Figure 14a) 11. In the username field, enter <yourusername> eg. 2013awilliam and in the password field enter your TJ Password; the one you use to log in to Iodine. (see Figure 14b) 16.
