Boston Ridge Cluster Welcome Neighbor The most I can do for my friend is simply be his friend. -Henry David Thoreau

Welcome Packet We value you as our neighbor and we would like to welcome you to the Boston Ridge Cluster in Reston. We are within walking distance to the metro, nice restaurants and shops and adjacent to a Reston path that leads to many outdoor and leisure endeavors for you to explore! We strive to create a pleasant community where everyone feels at home. Stay informed. Please go to our website: www.bostonridge.org and register so that you can keep apprised of current news and upcoming events in our community. Local Highlights Below is a map of south Reston where you will find some of the highlights nearby like swimming pools, tennis courts, public golf course, playgrounds, South Lakes Shopping center, the Metro, Reston paths, the W&OD bike path, the Cross Country trail, Lake Thoreau and Lake Audubon as well as other nearby amenities.

Our Friendly Neighbor Guide We love our neighbors! Friendly and considerate neighbors have the power to create an awesome community where everyone feels at home. Please participate in our community! Trash: Trash days are Tuesday and Friday mornings. Trash should be placed on sidewalk in front of your home no earlier that the night before. Please bring your trash receptacles inside or to the rear of your home after the trash has been collected. This schedule is subject to change on snow days and holidays so check the disposal company s website regarding these changes. Do not leave thin trash bags out overnight as the crows will make a feast of your trash! Recycling: Recycling is picked up on Fridays. Please use a marked recycling bin and place on the sidewalk in front of your house no earlier than the night before. Acceptable items are: cardboard, paper, plastic, and aluminum. Please breakdown boxes. Glass can be recycled at Reston South Park & Ride at the corner of Reston Pkwy and Lawyers Road. If you are leaving early for the weekend or won t be home on one of these days, ask one of your neighbors to help you retrieve the trash and recycling receptacles. Snow: Who doesn t enjoy a snow day? Please clear snow off the sidewalk(s) in front of your home for the safety of others in our community on the day that the snow falls. If you are physically unable to do this, please fi nd a willing neighbor to help you out. Our community is plowed in the street areas only so it is your responsibility to clear your own parking spot. Luckily, we live close to well plowed streets and the Reston Association trails are plowed making it easy to get around both by car and by foot during a major snowstorm. Please respect the hard work of the individuals who have cleared a space for themselves and refrain from parking there while the snow impedes our parking spaces.

Yards: Our landscaper will mow your lawn and the common areas. Plant and tree landscaped yards require less maintenance and add beauty as grass is sometimes hard to grow in our shady community. As the leaves fall - the landscape company will collect the leaves that you push into the grassy common areas. Please, please DO NOT put your leaves or yard debris in the woods. This hurts the forest ecology and it is against the law. Trees planted on your property can not be removed without prior approval of the Reston Association. Please keep your yard and outdoor space looking nice. It will add to the beauty of our entire community. You are welcome to join your neighbors during our spring and fall clean up days. Parking: The Boston Ridge community currently has unrestricted parking and there are approximately 2 spaces available per unit. Some areas of the community (like 2001-2009) have a small parking lot near their homes and you may learn of some unwritten agreements among neighbors. For example, some neighbors agree to respect each other by leaving at least one space per home available nearby so people who are elderly, disabled, have small children or who arrive home late are not walking a distance or in the dark alone. Be considerate of your neighbors, if parking is scarce, have your visitors park farther away so your neighbors won t be inconvenienced. There is an area across the parking area from 2019 to 2035 Headlands Circle where you can park oversized vehicles. Keep your vehicle registration up-to-date or your vehicle will be subject to towing. If you have moved here from another state or county, the DMV and Fairfax County expect you to change your license and vehicle registration within 30 days of moving to Virginia. Pets and More: We love pets. The red trail that goes through our community and the playing field adjacent to our entrance are both great for exercising your pet and you! Keep your pet on a leash for the safety of others. Please remember to pick up after your pet and dispose of your trash properly. Reston Association provides bags and trash receptacles along the trail - if you have forgotten yours.

Be especially respectful of your next door neighbors - keep noise to a minimum during quiet hours. Please refrain from smoking next to the windows of your neighbors. Discover nearby community amenities: As a resident of Boston Ridge, you are also a member of Reston Association. Participate in activities and classes offered by the Reston Association. Get your annual pool and tennis passes and explore www.reston.org to find out more about being a member of the Reston Association and our many amenities.
