Transportation to ASI Scandinavia This document will show you how to get to the ASI Scandinavia convention at Tyrifjord Videregående Skole from a couple of different locations. Overview of transportation Because of the location of the school, the following transportation route would be the natural one to follow: Oslo Airport Gardermoen Bus to Vik Minibus to Tyrifjord Videregående skole (ASI convention) or Sandefjord Airport Torp Moss Airport OSL (Airport) TVS Vik (Small town) Oslo Central station Enter mainbuidling and look for signs to Bussterminalen Oslo S & Busterminal Busterminal Find bus nr. 200 to Hønefoss Vik Cross under the road to the other side Page 2
OSL (Gardermoen) By bus The easiest way to travel from Gardermoen to Tyrifjord videregående skole (the Adventist high school where the ASI convention takes place) is by bus. Askeladden is the name of the bus company that takes you directly from the airport to Vik. The ordinary schedule for this bus is as follows: Days OSL Gardermoen Vik (departure.) By train Another option is to travel from Gardermoen to Oslo by train. You can take the ordinary train or the express train called Flytoget. When you arrive in Oslo you go to the bus terminal and find bus nr. 200 to Hønefoss. Flytoget: 6 trains per hour (Every 10 th minute) Prices: 180 NOK (Adult), 90 NOK (Student) Ordinary train: Approximately 2 trains per hour Prices: 90 NOK Notice: If you don t buy a ticket before you enter the train, you will have to pay 40 NOK extra. Moss airport (Rygge) Oslo S By train There are only ordinary trains going from Rygge to Oslo S. Ordinary train: Approximately 1 train per hour Prices: 160 NOK Notice: If you don t buy a ticket before you enter the train, you will have to pay 20 NOK extra. Look for ticket machines at the train station to save money. Visit www.nsb.no for more information. By bus There is an express bus going between Rygge and Oslo bus terminal. By using the bus you will come straight to the bus terminal and don t have to find your way from the train station. The bus is called Ryggeekspressen. When you get to Sandvika, go to the right towards Hønefoss on E16. By TVS minibus Arrival: We will try to pick up as many as possible that arrives on the 29 th of December. Make sure that we know that you are coming, and when you need to be picked up. Contact: logistics@asiscanindavia.org. Departure: There will be transportation to Vik at certain times on the 3 rd of January. A list will be put up where you can sign up for transportation to VIK at these times. We also recommend that busses and cars that are going in this direction would be filled up. Notice: If you are coming from Oslo by bus, you need to walk under the road to get to the other side. Both ordinary buses and TVS minibus will leave from this place. By car (Coming from Oslo) As you drive past Vik, which is on your left hand side, take the first exit to the right and follow the path as showed in blue on the map below. To Hønefoss To TVS To Oslo Follow this road for 10 km and then take to the left as shown on the map below. Drive down the hill to the School. You are heartily welcome! Page 8
TVS (ASI Conference) To Vik Sandefjord Airport (Torp) Oslo S (118 km) By bus There is an express bus going between Torp and Oslo bus terminal. By using the bus you will come straight to the bus terminal and don t have to find your way from the train station. The bus is called Torpekspressen. Page 9
Torpekspressen: Visit http://torpekspressen.no and choose your flight Prices: 240 NOK (Adult), 180 NOK (Student) Other busses: There are three other busses that go from Sandefjord to Oslo. But they all stop at Fokserød just beside E18. This is 3.5 km from the airport (map to the right). To take a taxi is very expensive, but if you are a big group maybe it will pay off. The price for this shuttle bus is included in the train ticket. Take the train to Oslo S. Ordinary train: Approximately 1 train per hour Prices to Oslo S: 245 NOK (Adult), 184 NOK (Student) When you come to Oslo S Follow the signs to Bussterminalen look for bus nr. 200 to Hønefoss.
