Scope Plataforma Deltana As a result of a competitive process, Statoil was awarded (Feb. 27, 2003) a licence for exploitation and exploration of non-associated natural gas for Plataforma Deltana Block 4. Approx. area 1.435 km2 Between 200 and 800 meter of water depth Licence awarded to Statoil and PDVSA Gas. The latter will decide its participation between 1% and 35%, at the moment of declaration of commerciality. Initially this is a project for exploration and reservoir delineation, in order to confirm reserves. Once these are known, the development plan will be prepared.

l Plataforma Deltana Exploration Drilling AEROTECNICA Capure Drilling planned to start 2 nd quarter 2004, with one well. Synergies will be promoted with other operators. Contracting strategy under preparation. Bidding process starts in the last quarter of the year. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment is crucial step in process.
