Polar Park Arctic Wildlife Centre Photo Polar Park The world s northernmost wildlife park and one of Northern Norway s most popular tourist attractions. With its 114 acres of natural habitat, it houses arctic animals such as wolves, brown bear, lynx, wolverine, moose, reindeer, musk oxen and fox. During the summer there is also a farm animal enclosure for the children to enjoy and interact with the animals. Guided tour of the park. Polar Park - Wolf Camp The wolves in Wolf Camp are socialised, and accustomed to associate with humans at close range. We give you the unique opportunity to meet the wolves at Polar Park inside the enclosure! Meet this mythical animal, and discover the actual truth about wolves. Polar Park - Howl Night Join us and get a unique and fantastic experience after closing time. Imagine it being dark, crunchy snow underfoot, if we re lucky the northern lights. As we enter the park we are taught to howl for the wolves and they howl back. Photo Peter Rosen Polar Park - Wolf Lodge Photo Polar Park How would you like to stay overnight in the Wolf Lodge at Polar Park. Built in the middle of a large wolf enclosure, this is a truly unique experience. The lodge has large windows at 3 sides - so you see the wolves and the wolves see you. Windows in the roof make it possible to view the Northern Lights or the midnight sun depending on the season. Ofoten Railway The Ofoten Railway extends for 42 km from Narvik to the Swedish border and winds its way through steep, rugged, mountainous terrain north of the Arctic Circle. The journey is a tourist attraction in itself. The line was once described as the 8th Wonder of the World and was the northernmost, coldest and harshest railway construction project the world had ever seen.

Ofoten Railway & Navvy trek Photo Lise Hansen Combination tour Ofoten Railway, navvy trek and RIB. In a rich and wild nature setting the Navvy Trail Winds its way down from the mountain to the fjord. The frame work for this picturesque walk is nature itself with vibrant colours, brilliant light and unique sounds. The Navvy Trail has been branded a cultural Heritage trail. War History & Museum The brand new, modern and interactive war museum has opened. The exhibition documents the events taking place in the Narvik region in the period 1940 1945. As part of its status as a national institution for learning, the exhibits have also been expanded to include information on human rights, war and conflicts across the world, giving the museum another deeper dimension. Battlefield excursion Photo Nicola Mulryan Narvik and the surrounding region s dramatic history from World War II is well known in the history books. For two months a bitter battle for Narvik and the iron-ore raged between the invading forces and the French, Polish and Norwegian troops on land, and a considerable British flotilla at sea. The Battle of Narvik was the first major victory gained by the Allies during World War II. A more in depth story of the events that took place here with a visit to several sights/memorials in the region - also including the museum. Narvik Mountain Lodge Photo Pål Jakobsen Stunning lodge located half way up the Fagernes Mountain. Combine this with activities such as a walk on snow-shoes, hiking, dining, northern light excursion or just enjoying the view from their luxurious balcony with a warm drink in hand. Fun and games in the snow for those feeling playful. In the summer why not have a BBQ whilst watching the sun that never sets.

Narvik Mountain Cable car Photo Pål Jakobsen Take the cable car to one of the most famous viewpoints in Northern Norway - the mountain restaurant at Narvikfjellet, 656 metres above sea level. From here, you can experience either the midnight sun or the brand new winter product called Lights at the Lodge (northern lights excursion). Several walking tours can be organised from here. Sled rides down the mountain in the winter. Climbing Park fun for both children and adults. Ski slopes, children s slopes, equipment hire. Panoramic Skjomen (summer only) Photo Jens Christiansen ESCAPE Skjomen is known for its scenic and volcanic terrain with high, steep mountains, waterfalls and clear water. Skjomtind, Reintind, and Klubbviktind are three of the many staggering mountains surrounding the fjord. The Frostisen glacier, which is one of the larger plateau glaciers in Norway, is located just west of the fjord. Skjomen Golf Park is an 18-hole full size golf course set in surroundings like you have never seen. During the summer you can play golf 24-hours with the midnight sun as backdrop. Gratangen Norwegian Coastal History in a nutshell Norwegian coastal history goes back thousands of years, and in the picturesque village of Gratangen you can learn how this has evolved. Visit the boat museum which hosts one of Norther Europe s largest collection of traditional Nordland boats (Fembøring 10-ored boats). This is how fishing used to be. From here you visit the modern salmon farm, giving you an introduction into how part of todays fishing industry operates. All this in the most beautiful setting. Complete the day with a stop at Bryggeloftet for some local refreshments. Njalasouka Adventures A sleigh ride to the Njalasouka lavvu is the start of an exciting trip that brings you high up in the mountains with a fantastic mountain scenery that creates a perfect backdrop for your Sami day out. Traditional Sami food combined with storytelling, activities and the opportunity of being a reindeer herder for a day. During the summer we offer hiking tours in the Beisfjord Mountains enjoying the spectacular scenery, ending up at the lavvu for refreshments.

Moose safari Photo: Fremover Try something different and join us in the search for The King of the forest. Winter as well as summer this majestic animal roams the forests close to our communities and seeing them up close makes you realise their true size. Remember to bring a camera. Fjord cruise & Sea eagle safari Experience the fantastic Ofotfjord with its majestic mountains and deep fjords, where war history and natural surroundings meet in perfect harmony. With on board comfort and light refreshments you go looking for sea eagles and porpoises whilst at the same time your senses take in the sounds and smells of sea life. Aurora Skystation Abisko Abisko, in the middle of the auroral zone, is considered to be the best place on earth to see the Aurora Borealis. With its practically permanent cloud-free sky active northern lights can be seen almost every night. Inside the Aurora Sky Station, an aurora exhibition emphasizes observing and understanding the northern lights. A scale model of the solar system helps to better understand the Aurora Borealis. Aurora Hunting The Aurora Borealis, also called the Northern lights, is only visible in the Northern Hemisphere in the period September to April. However, the best time is from October till February. We can offer several excursions where we og looking for this incredible phenomena, hopefully leaving you with memories of a lifetime. Dog sledding Glide across the blanket of snow to the sound of the runners and the panting of the dogs. The journey will take us out into the magnificent mountain landscape where we enjoy views that stretch for miles.

Snowmobile excursions Go on an adventure and experience the wild mountains on one of our environmentally friendly snowmobiles. Drive your own snowmobile or travel in twos. JUKKASJÄRVI ICE HOTEL ICEHOTEL is the world s first and largest hotel built of snow and ice and it is situated in Jukkasjärvi. It covers 5,500 square meters and is constructed from 1,000 tonnes of ice. Day trip, stay overnight, get married, northern light Excursions. COMBINATION TOUR EXCLUSIVE Take the train from Narvik to Kiruna (Sweden). From here, you ride the snowmobile to Jukkasjärvi Ice hotel. Lunch and warm drink served. Tour of the ice-hotel before being collected by coach and returned to Narvik. In the footsteps of the iron-ore Enjoy the magnificent train ride from Narvik to Kiruna, where most of the iron-ore is mined. The mines are as large as cities. You will be taken on a bus tour 1.4 km underground in the mines which also host an exhibition. Leaving Kiruna on a coach back to Narvik the tour ends at LKAB s port terminal where all the iron-ore is shipped from. Hiking treks in Tøttadalen Tøttatoppen is one of Narvik s most famous peaks, and in order to be considered a true Narviking you must have climbed this mountain. It is located to the east of the town centre and stretches

1234 metres above sea level. We offer several treks along the trails of Tøttadalen. We have everything from short and easy to long and difficult. Everyone should be able to enjoy a day out. Winter festival week (March every year) Every year in March (usually week 11) Narvik transforms and and turns into a town dating back 120 years. The winter festival week is a festival honouring the navvies and those who contributed to building the Ofoten Railway. Men and women dress as they did 100 years ago and there are plenty of activities, for adults and children, both during the days and in the evenings. Limousine ride Why not explore the region in a different way - in a private limousine? Alternatively, you can combine this with the Foutain 47 excursion. Boat from Narvik to Risvær in Lofoten, enjoy lunch and then be picked up by limousine and taken back to Narvik. Exclusive boat ride in a Fountain 47 Photo Rune Dahl Visit exclusive Risvær Brygge situated on a group of islands outside Lofoten. Enjoy lunch there before going on to visit Trollfjorden in Lofoten. Return to Narvik by oat, bus or private car.
