Job Description Job title: Purpose of the post: Website and Digital Coordinator The Bristol SU Marketing & Communications department is responsible for high quality communications of Bristol SU s activities and campaigns to University of Bristol students, and other stakeholders. The post holder will develop Bristol SU s web presence to increase levels of audience engagement and commercial income online. The post holder will implement the Bristol SU online brand online and maintain in-house quality standards. The post holder will also drive the organisation s wider digital engagement via other online channels including e-communications and social media. Key to this role is being able to identify new opportunities for engagement whilst managing the day-to-day smooth running of the organisation s online operation. Main duties and responsibilities: 1 Online management and development Manage, improve and update Bristol SU s website and online shop via its Content Management Systems Develop the website as necessary to deliver a greater range of student services online and to increase its market reach. Use knowledge of SEO and web development to support the Bristol SU web and digital strategy. Eplore PPC marketing platforms for relevant areas of Bristol SU s online strategy. Optimise site conversions to maimise commercial effectiveness of Bristol SU websites Work closely with the University website team to ensure a high Bristol SU presence on digital platforms across the University as well as maintaining and developing integrated systems. Identify and implement new opportunities for development and increased engagement/traffic, including using deep content such as video. Troubleshoot problems with online channels as they arise. Support and train Bristol SU staff and students to update content and manage sections of the website independently. Develop systems, templates, information and training to enable Bristol SU clubs and societies to manage their own sections of the website. Ensure that Bristol SU s web presence is open to technological and market advances. Work with the Marketing Manager to develop effective tracking and reporting analytics across all websites and social network channels. 2 Email Drive Bristol SU s email strategy, using WYSIWYG design editors to deliver regular, engaging content. Identify opportunities for data segmentation to drive engagement and commercial income through email marketing Deliver all communications in accordance with the Data Protection Act. 3 Social networking, online community and eternal websites Support the Marketing Eecutive to create regular and engaging communications on our core social media platforms Facebook and Twitter and providing cover where required Lead on delivering strategy and content for new social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and LinkedIn, where there is rationale for doing so. Ensuring links between the website and social media are as strong as they can be. Support development of Bristol SU s digital platforms as a dynamic online community. Increase the presence of Bristol SU on eternal websites.

4 Wider input into Marketing and Communications Team Support the team in creating various online collateral including articles, web portals, adverts, web banners and other online design required for Bristol SU departments, campaigns and events. Contribute to ideas for marketing campaigns and lead the thinking for online elements of these. Maintain in-house quality standards and brand identity on all online channels. Set up, monitor and report email, social media and web analytics on a monthly basis. 5 Intranet and internal communications Develop and improve Bristol SU s internal communications online system. 6 Health and Safety Management To comply with all Bristol SU Health and Safety guidelines To take personal responsibility for Health and Safety of yourself and those around you To undertake Health & Safety training and attend meetings as required by Bristol SU. 7 Other Attend weekly organisation team briefings, departmental team meetings, monthly organisational development sessions and other such meetings to promote inter department communications, development of new ideas and success sharing. To adhere to, and to comply with Bristol SU s policies and procedures as detailed in the Staff Handbook. Undertake such other tasks as may be necessary in order to achieve the vision, mission and values of Bristol SU, as directed. Promote the vision, mission and values of Bristol SU through your interactions with internal and eternal stakeholders throughout your daily working routine. Contribute to relevant focus groups and Bristol SU and University of Bristol committees as required. Attend conferences and seminars that are of benefit to the Bristol SU as required. Training and Professional Development Bristol SU has achieved the Investors in People standard and considers professional development as key to the success of the individual within the organisation and for future career development. All staff are offered regular professional development through team briefings, organisation development sessions and in-house training. Each staff member takes part in the annual performance assessment review (PAR) and develops a personal development plan. Fleibility is required and there will be an epectation of longer hours during term time (especially October). We will consider requests for fleible working including job share. Holiday: Probationary period: 25 days per year plus bank holidays and university closure days. The majority of holiday is taken out of term time. This will be pro-rated for part-time workers.
