Meet Information Date: Saturday 31 st October 2009 Venue: Pool Facilities: s: Supervision: Heat Marshalling: The Peak, Stirling Sports Village, Forthbank, Stirling FK7 7UJ 25m, 6 lanes, anti-turbulence lane ropes with full electronic timing and scoreboard. Café and bar facilities available. Warm-ups will be split to accommodate numbers & age range of competitors. Access to Poolside: 8.40am Warm Up: 9.00 9.40am for Start 9.50am Finish approx 3.00pm *** Schools must provide a teacher/parent to supervise their school swimmers on poolside. *** Event summary will be posted at various locations around the poolside. Swimmers will be called for in whole events, at least one event prior to their swim and marshalled into heats in the designated marshalling areas. Swimmers will then be sent down in heat order to the starting blocks. Age Groups: *** Swimmers under 8yrs may not enter *** 12yrs & Under may enter 1 individual event and a 4 x 50m relay. 13/14yrs, 15/16yrs, 17/19yrs may enter a maximum of 2 individual events and a 4 x 50m canon relay. If a swimmer wishes to enter two individual events, one of these must be a 200m or 400m. Age Groups 12yrs & Under: 13/14yrs, 15/16yrs, 17/19yrs: Open Category Open Events 50m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle 4 x 50m Free Teams (Schools may enter an A and B team) 100m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle 200m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle & IM 4 x 50m Canon - one boy & girl from 1 individual age group and one boy & girl from 13-19yrs age group (Schools may enter an A and B team) Events 400m Freestyle & Medley (IM) Central Schools Championships & Scottish Schools Finals Eligibility: 1. Swimmers must be participating in a full time course of education at a school or college, on a course up to and including HNC level. 2. Age group events are defined as age on the 31 st December 2010. 3. Swimmers may only be considered for the Scottish Schools Finals with times achieved at the area championships, as long as the times are within the published consideration time. 4. A maximum of three swimmers from each area can be submitted to the Scottish Schools Finals for each event. NOTE: In addition, most events can only accept the twenty fastest swimmers, 17-19yrs only the ten fastest swimmers, therefore if a swimmer gets a consideration time it may not be accepted as a qualification time. Seeding: 12yrs/U age group events will be run as mixed boys and girls based on entry times. 13/14-17/19 yrs age groups events will be run as mixed age groups based on entry times. Awards: All events Medals for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd. In the Open events medals will be presented to 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd placing for individual age categories. Presentation shields will be awarded to the following: 12yrs/U Girls & 12yrs/U Boys Team Winners 13-19yrs Canon Team Winners Top Primary & Secondary School based on cumulative points from the top six swimmers. Points will be awarded as follows: 1 st Place = 6 points 2 nd Place = 5 points 3 rd Place = 4 points 4 th Place = 3 points 5 th Place = 2 points 6 th Place = 1 point. Entries: The correct fee(s) must accompany the completed paperwork and be sent to the Area Rep by Saturday 10 th October. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the meet management. Application to use the above named equipment can be made on the day to the Meet Nominated Official. Any person wishing to do this must be able to provide identification, and evidence that they have swimmer(s) competing in the meet. Application must be made on the official SASA form. Scottish Schools Swimming Finals Entries: The results from the Central Schools Championships will be collated and checked against the published Scottish Schools consideration times. From the top 3 performances in each event, names will be submitted for consideration for the Scottish Schools Swimming Finals. The selected swimmer s school/college being represented will be sent the entry information for the Scottish Schools Swimming Finals.
