SuccessTracker In OWL Pre-K, Success Tracker is used for recording and reporting of assessment data. Children do not take tests online. Registration To register for an account, follow these steps: 1. Go to www.pearsonsuccessnet.com. 2. Click Register. 3. Enter the product access code. TXPREKOWL2011B The product access code will unlock the products that are licensed to the school. If the product access code is needed, please call product support at 1-800-234-5832. 4. Complete the registration form. Enter the school s zip code and choose the school from the list. Do not register again if a log-in has already been assigned. After setting up Teachers begin by entering their user name and password, and then clicking Log in. Now the teacher home page appears. The teacher home page provides access to a full set of resources. Your Home Page Note: When the page first appears, if part of the page is not displaying, grab the gray scroll bar at the bottom and scroll to the right see the entire home page (For more information about registering for an account and creating a user name and password, watch the Teacher Registration tutorial on this Web site.) 1 P a g e
HOME There are several tabs at the top of the teacher home page: Home, Content, Planning, Classes, and Reports. This guide touches on what teachers will find under each tab The Home tab always returns the user to the teacher Home Page. The Content tab links to the Table of Contents of the textbooks, tests. Class Set Up After logging in, it s time to start setting up the classes: 1. From the teacher home page, click the Classes tab and select Build New Classes. 2. Enter the class name, and then select the available products for the students to use in that class. 3. Click Save. Adding Students To add students one at a time, do the following: 1. From the teacher home page, click the Classes tab and select Manage Classes. 2. Click View under the Roster column. 3. Click Add a student. 4. Type in the student s information (for Grade select XX for PreK) and create the student s user name and password. 5. Click Save to add this student to the class (or Save and add another to continue adding students.) 2 P a g e
Assign a Test To assign a test: 1. Choose Tests under the Content tab on the teacher home page. 2. Select a Test type from the drop-down menus. For example, select Screening Assessment, and then click Go. 3. Under Test Name column, click on the test (displayed in English and Spanish). A drop down menu will appear, click on Assign. 4. Next, choose which students should take the test. Place a check mark next to Student to assign the test to the whole class. To assign the test to only select students, simply place check marks next to their names. 5. To modify the dates that the test will be available for students, enter the dates at the top right, and then click Save. 6. After assigning the test, it is listed under the Planning tab by clicking Assignments at the top of the teacher home page. 3 P a g e
Score/Re-score Tests/ Screening/ Progress Monitoring To enter results for a student, 1. Choose Assignments from under the Planning tab. Click on a test listed under Assignment name and choose Edit/Score. 2. Click Score/ Re-score next to the student s name. 3. Using the data collected for that child on the related recording form (see your Planning and Assessment Guide), answer the questions about the child s performance on the assessment and assign a score based on the suggested point value. A = 1 point, B = 0 points. When you are finished click Save. This child s assessment data is now saved in the system! Refer to your Planning and Assessment Guide for information on how to use the assessment results for grouping and instruction. 4 P a g e
Reports Once assessment data is recorded in the system, you can run a variety of reports. Reports are accessed from the Reports tab. In the Mastery Report, you can select View By Texas Pre-K Outcomes to see data specific to Texas Outcomes. You can also save your reports to an Excel spreadsheet on your computer.
