Cambridge Judge Business School Further particulars JOB TITLE: REPORTS TO: HEAD OF CUSTOM PROGRAMME MARKETING (FIXED-TERM, MATERNITY COVER) MARKETING DIRECTOR Background Executive Education is a major activity in Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) providing open and tailored programmes to the corporate world that are built on the knowledge and expertise of our network of academics and business practitioners. JBS Executive Education Ltd (JBSEEL) is a limited company, wholly owned by the University of Cambridge. The department works with the faculty from the School and the wider University to design and deliver a range of short courses for senior executives from around the world. The programmes are of broadly two types: open enrolment and custom designed programmes. Our open programmes are held throughout the year in Cambridge, and are timetabled between 12 and 18 months ahead, while custom programmes are specifically designed for our clients needs and can be held at quite short notice. Executive Education is continuing to implement a Business Management System (BMS), which links their Client Relationship Management system with their finance system. All staff member are required to use this system and ensure information is current and accurate. The role The primary focus of the role of Head of Custom Programme Marketing is to increase the profile and visibility of custom programmes and proactively work to generate leads through marketing activity. This includes external marketing in the form of social media, direct mail campaigns, business development events for lead generation and profile raising. It also includes internal marketing to CJBS faculty about upcoming opportunities and communicating to University audiences about the scale and breadth of Custom Programme activities. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing strategy to support business development Implement and develop marketing strategy for custom programmes in collaboration with the Marketing Director. Work with individual Business Development Directors (BDDs) to support their business development plans with events, specific campaigns and branding guidance. Meet BDDs individually on monthly basis to ensure effective marketing and business development support. In coordination with the Marketing Director, promote and support marketing of Centres within customised programmes, such as the Middle East Leadership Research Centre, the Centre for Compliance and Trust and the Professional Service Firm portfolio. 1

Integrate this marketing activity across the entire team, specifically including Open Programme colleagues in order to ensure integration and continuity. Identify regional and sectorial business opportunities for BDDs and work to develop them. Provide information about the executive education market via benchmarking and competitor analysis for BDDs. Materials and content development Maintain and develop content communications strategy showcasing research, opinion and thoughtleadership from the Executive Education team, CJBS faculty and other influencers. Develop brochures and other external facing materials to promote custom programmes. Update and maintain custom webpages with content, visuals and infographics on an ongoing basis. Work with BDDs and clients to develop case studies, endorsements and video testimonials. With Marketing Director, work with External Affairs PR team to ensure regular PR, features and vlogs. Work with External Affairs to ensure up-to-date branding and messaging is adhered to. Lead generation through marketing activity With the media agency, develop a paid media schedule to increase new business lead generation. Develop a communications plan and ensure regular communications with past, current and potential clients. Using Inside View and other list sources, proactively identify and target specific people, sectors and regions with email communications and direct mail. In collaboration with the Marketing Officer, produce monthly reports highlighting ROI from marketing activity including leads, web analytics, social media monitoring and press monitoring. Ongoing strategic projects Take a lead role in the Executive Education website development project. Work with the Marketing Officer to offer a marketing service for select custom clients by supporting marketing campaigns and creating promotional content such as brochures, email templates, press communications and articles. Support the Executive Education team with internal communications to stakeholders across the University and at the School, including events and regular Executive News e-communications. With the Marketing Director and CEO, develop communication strategy for the Financial Times rankings. Manage custom marketing budget, raise purchase orders and report on spend. 2

The person The ideal candidate should have the following qualities, skills and attributes. You are asked to provide a covering letter demonstrating how your own experience meets these requirements. ESSENTIAL Educated to degree level or equivalent. Significant marketing experience, ideally in a commercial environment. Proven track record and experience of working in a customer focused service environment and an understanding of the importance of marketing s role in creating strong client relationships. An understanding of branding, messaging, social media and the latest digital platforms and channels. Outstanding communication and presentation skills at all levels written and verbal. Ability to interact professionally and with confidence with senior-level executives and academics in an international context. Self-motivated, confident and articulate; good knowledge of business sectors an advantage. Accuracy and close attention to detail, ability to maintain this under pressure, and an understanding of the importance of delivering results on time and to a high standard. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and very confident in working with CRM databases. Enjoys working as part of a team but able to work independently, taking responsibility and initiative where required. DESIRABLE CIM qualification. Line management experience. Experience using Adobe products: InDesign, Photoshop and Professional. Benefits This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The salary will be 40,000 per annum. There will be a three month probationary period. Holiday entitlement is 33 days per annum plus eight days of public holidays (the holiday year runs from 1 October to 30 September). The post holder will be eligible to participate in the Company s staff incentive plan (Annual Employee Bonus Scheme). This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave. The funds for this post are available for one year or the return of the post holder whichever is the earlier. Internal applicants wishing to undertake a secondment are welcome to apply.
