Moving Existing Files to SoftChalk Cloud This document is for SoftChalk Desktop Users who have existing SoftChalk Lessons. To take advantage of anytime access and automatic lesson updating in the Tri-C SoftChalk Cloud, the zip file of each lesson must be moved to your Tri-C SoftChalk Cloud account. Moving existing lessons into the cloud is as simple as opening the lesson and saving it to Tri-C SoftChalk Cloud. You may save existing files to the Softchalk Cloud from Blackboard or your local drive. Follow these step-by-step instructions to move your existing SoftChalk lessons and activities to your SoftChalk Cloud account. 1. Go to https://tri-c.softchalkcloud.com/login site and Open the SoftChalk Create application. If you have never opened SoftChalk Create from the Tri-C Cloud, review the Getting Started with Tri-C SoftChalk Cloud document to get a visual guide for opening SoftChalk Create from the cloud.
Use the following instructions to save SoftChalk lessons from inside Blackboard. 1. Click File on the menu bar. Click on Open from LMS. When using this method please note the location of your Blackboard content. 2. Note that the Open From LMS view window opens. Your current server information will appear here.
3. Open the folder of the content that contains your SoftChalk lesson. Select the SoftChalk Lesson from the Repository and click Open.
4. The SoftChalk lesson opens. 5. Click File on the menu bar and select Save to SoftChalk Cloud. 6. The Save to Cloud window will open. Be sure to select Personal. Selecting Public will share your lesson with all Tri-C faculty. Selecting No Access will prohibit anyone except the author from viewing the lesson. Click the Save button.
7. You will know you have successfully saved to the cloud because your lesson is now listed under your Private SoftChalk Cloud account. 8. Your lesson is also now accessible in My Lessons & Courses section of SoftChalk Cloud. This is where you will access the lesson to make updates to it and to get links to place the lesson in Blackboard.
Use the following instructions to save from your local computer. 1. Click File on the menu bar. Click on Open Packaged Lesson. v v 2. The Open SoftChalk Package window will appear. Find the lesson you want to save, and click on the lesson. It may be a zip file or a srsc.zip file. The lesson name will appear in the File name area. Click Open. If you see a list of HTML files, go back to File and be sure to select Open Packaged lesson.
3. The file will open in the SoftChalk Create view. 4. Go to File and select Save To Softchalk Cloud from the drop down menu. 5. The Save to Cloud window will open. Be sure to select Personal. Selecting Public will share your lesson with all Tri-C faculty. Selecting No Access will prohibit anyone except the author from viewing the lesson. Click the Save button.
