Bv Murray Farm A Great Place to Be School News - Week 1 Term 3 14/07/2015- Page 1 Address: Tracey Ave Carlingford NSW 2118 Phone: (02) 9871 5952 Fax: (02) 9872 1301 Email: murrayfarm-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au Web: www.murrayfarm-p.schools.nsw.edu.au PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE Dear Parents and Caregivers, WELCOME BACK Welcome back to school for Term 3. I hope that all our students have had a relaxing and safe holiday and have returned to school ready for another busy and productive term. Monday was a School Development Day, during which staff undertook CPR and Emergency Care training, as well as spending time becoming familiar with the new History syllabus, to be introduced next year. Joint grade planning was also undertaken to support learning this term. Another professional day of learning was well worthwhile. ENROLMENTS - KINDERGARTEN 2016 We have received quite a number of enrolment applications for Kindergarten 2016. If you know anyone wishing to enrol their child into Kindergarten for next year, please invite them to enrol soon. As you may be aware, the school is growing very quickly and for planning purposes, we need to know how many children we are likely to have next year, so we can organise classrooms etc. PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS At the end of last term, teachers conducted parent interviews. Thank you to the teachers for making themselves available for this important feedback. I hope that parents found the interviews worthwhile and informative. CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Mrs Sanders, who after a few years of being a temporary teacher at Murray Farm Public School, was successful in her application for permanency. She is now a permanent member of our staff. Welcome aboard. SELECTIVE HIGH SCHOOL Congratulations to 37 of our Year 6 students who were successful in receiving offers to various selective high schools for next year. Some of these students are on waiting lists, while most have received definite placement offers. 1

It was a wonderful result to have 37 successful results out of 55 student applications. Commiserations to those who were not successful this time. It is simply not possible to offer places to all those who apply, and many highly talented students miss out. JULY PARENTS & CITIZENS (P&C) MEETING A reminder to all parents that the next P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday 21 July at 7.30pm in the staff room. All are welcome to attend.
