Forword Om behalf of swimming club De Geul and KNZB I would like to welcome you wholeheartedly at the 15th Open Netherlands Master Championships short course. As swimming club we are proud to welcome the Masters in Sportcentrum Papendrecht, the place where De Geul has its base since november 2014. In close cooperation with the municipality of Papendrecht and the employees of the sportcentre we have prepared ourselves during the last months for a Master tournament that promises to become a good event, full of atmosphere. The many volunteers will do their best to attend to the participants as well as possible, while they are realizing their sporting achievements. A word of thanks to everyone who has helped us to make this event possible is certainly appropriate here. We mention the local and regional entrepreneurs, the municipality of Papendrecht, the employees of the sportcentre and last but not least the many officials and volunteers. On behalf of the whole organisation committee I wish all participants, officials, spectators and volunteers a very good, fair and sporty tournament. Welcome to Papendrecht Dear masterswimmers, family members and spectators, Welcome to the Open Dutch Masters Championships in Papendrecht. During four days we will see the best of the Dutch and foreign Masters in action. About a thousand participants will provide many starts and will give everything in their power to deliver an appealing performance. Besides the love for the sports they share the fanaticism to make the very best of it. I am proud that de Geul, Sportcentrum Papendrecht and the municipality of Papendrecht can provide a fitting scene. Sportcentrum papendrecht is brand new and has a short history so it is extra nice to be able to welcome such a great event. Because all added together the participants, the organization en the spectators will provide a tremendous atmosphere. Papendrecht had a history of sports that makes us proud and at one time it was pronounced the most sportive municipality in the Netherlands so you can say that Papendrecht is sports minded. Because of this history we will do everything in our power to create the best circumstances for everyone involved. Of course I would like to use this opportunity to invite you to visit some other parts of Papendrecht, for instance the centre en the characteristic dike. When you do so, you will discover that Papendrecht has also interesting things to offer on a cultural level. Route & Parking Address Sportcentrum Papendrecht Burgemeester Keijzerweg 110 3353 CV Papendrecht Travel directions On the A 15, coming from Gorinchem or Rotterdam: take exit no 23 Papendrecht to N 3 direction Dordrecht (Papendrecht naar N 3 richting Dordrecht). After 500 meters take the exit Papendrecht, at the end of the exit turn to the right, Burgemeester Keijzerweg. Follow this road for about 1,5 kilometers, then you will reach a roundabout. Go all the way around, the fourth exit, back on the Burgemeester Keijzerweg. After 50 meters you ll find Sportcentrum papendrecht to your right. Coming from Breda, on the A16 direction Dordrecht, take the exit no 20 s Gravendeel and insert the Randweg/N3 direction Papendrecht. After 8 kilometers take exit Papendrecht and at the end of the exit go to the left, Burgemeester Keijzerweg. Go straight ahead for about 1,5 kilometers and take the fourth exit at the roundabout (all the way around) back to the Burgemeester Keijzerweg. After 50 meters you will find Sportcentrum Papendrecht at your right. NB: some navigation systems are not able to find the address, you can use Burgemeesterkeijzerweg 100 as an alternative. The entrance of Sportcentrum Papendrecht is located at the square in front of the hotel. - 6 -
Parking Since parts of the area around Sportcentrum Papendrecht are still under construction, there is limited parking space on parking lot 1. If this parking lot happens to be full there are several other parking lots in the immediate vicinity of Sportcentrum Papendrecht. Location P2: Bosbesplein ( a 2 minute walk) At the opposite side of the Burgemeester Keijzerweg, coming from the N3 you go to the right at the roundabout, first exit. After that you go to the right two times. You can get to the Sportcentrum very easily on foot. Location P3: Poldermolen (a 2 minute walk) Diagonally across the roundabout, behind the policy station and the fire department. Location P4: Van der Palmstraat (a 5-10 minute walk) Coming from the N3, take the roundabout for three quarters (Veerweg) and then at the second roundabout go to the right (Rembrandtlaan). After 300 meters there is a spacious Parking lot at your left, near a church. Directly behind this parking lot you ll find another big parking lot near the theater. Location P5: Rubensstraat (a 5 minute walk) Take the roundabout for three quarters (Veerweg) and then at the second roundabout turn to the right (Rembtrandtlaan). After 300 meters, across the bridge, turn to the right. At the end of the Paulus Potterstraat you ll find a parking lot near the church. At the end of the parking lot, in the right angle, there is a footpath/bicyclepath back to the Burgemeester Keijzerweg. Go to the right at the petrol station and you ll see the hotel and Sportcentrum Papendrecht. On behalf of the organization and the municipality of Papendrecht we kindly but urgently ask you the use only this parking lots. Please do not park your car in the housing areas in the vicinity of Sportcentrum Papendrecht. - 7 -
Public Transport You can easily get to Sportcentrum Papendrecht by public transport. From Dordrecht Centraal Station several bus lines are departing for Papendrecht. Without having to change lines you can take line 16 to Papendrecht/ Alblasserdam (get off at the stop Politiebureau) or line 19 to Nieuw Lekkerland/ Kinderdijk (get off at the stop Politiebureau). NB: do not take line 14, this bus drives all the way through Papendrecht but doesn t stop in the vicinity of the Sportcentrum. Departing from Rotterdam Centraal Station you can take the tube to Kralingse Zoom or to Zuidplein. Rotterdam Kralingse Zoom: line 87 to Sliedrecht (get off at the stop Politiebureau) or line 187 to Sliedrecht (get off at the stop Politiebureau). Rotterdam Zuidplein: line 91 to Sliedrecht (get off at the stop Busstation Papendrecht) From the stop Politiebureau you can see the Sportcentrum and the hotel at the other side of the roundabout. From the stop Busstation it is a 5 minute walk to Sportcentrum Papendrecht, via Burgemeester Keijzerweg direction Centrum. - 8 -
Horecaruimte Sportcentrum Papendrecht De horecaruimte van Sportcentrum Papendrecht is te vinden op de 1ste verdieping. Sportcentrum Papendrecht beschikt over een schitterende, lichte en ruime horecaruimte. Vanuit deze ruimte heeft u uitzicht op het recreatiebad en de sporthal. U kunt hier terecht voor een lekker koel drankje, warm bakje koffie/thee of een heerlijke snack. Participants information General Information Rules at Sportcentrum Papendrecht: It is not allowed to enter the pool with your shoes on. You must wear special shoes, which are not used outside, slippers or you can enter the pool barefooted. To make sure that the pool and the tribunes remain clean we kindly ask you to throw all of your waste in the dustbins. There is a smoking ban inside Sportcentrum Papendrecht, if you want to smoke you can find a special spot outside near the entrance. The cafeteria on the first floor is the only place where it is allowed to drink alcohol. Lockers: Around the pool, throughout the Sportcentrum you ll find lockers which you can use by putting in 0,20 each time. Warming up/ cooling down: Besides the 8x25 m. competition pool, Sportcentrum Papendrecht has a 4x25 m. pool. In this pool you can do your warming up or cooling down during all hours of the tournament. Starting 30 minutes before each session begins you can also use the competition pool for your warming up. Information desk: During the tournament you will find the information desk in the central hall. All questions concerning the competition and the tournament you can pose here. Cafetaria: The cafeteria is situated at the first floor of Sportcentrum Papendrecht. Wendy and Richard Vermeij and their employees will receive you here for something to eat or to drink. On Saturday evening the Master Buffet will take place at the cafeteria. Masterbuffet (not only for participants): The buffet will be set out for you on Saturday evening and it includes several dishes and 1 drink. If you want to eat vegetarian please let us know when you subscribe. The costs: 15,50 (subscription in advance), during the tournament the cafeteria will charge an extra 2,50 (as long as they have extra dishes in supply). Children up to and including 10 years get a 5 discount. Pictures: During the event Kees Jan van Overbeeke will be present to take pictures. You can ask him to take your picture. Competition Starting procedure: There will be no last callroom. You have to make sure that you re present at the start on time, we will not wait. We will use only one start and it will be an overhead start. All swimmers will start over each other, except during relays. After each finish the swimmers have to remain in the water, in their own lane, about 1 meter away from the wall. After the start of the next series, or at a signal from the jury, the swimmers have to leave the pool ad quickly as possible by the side of the pool. Unsubscriptions and DNS: Unsubscriptions for the competition have to be in possession of the jury before the start of the first jury meeting on that competition day. Unsubscriptions which are delivered later in the day or not starting without an unsubscription (DNS) will be sanctioned. Changes in the relay: Changes can only be passed on written until 30 minutes before the start of the relay to the jury secretary. Changes in the relay team are only allowed as long ad the relay team remains in the same age category and of the same gender (men-women-mixed). The referees have the right to take a participant out of the race if he or she has fallen too far behind relative to the entry time. Results: After final approval of the referee the results will be published in the small 4x25 m pool and in the cafeteria. The results will also be published at the site of KNZB Livetiming and the site of KNZB. Medals: For each individual program number 3 medals per age category will be handed out. For the relay programs 4 medals x 3 will be handed out per age category. Medals are to be collected at the medal table, you can find the table in the smaller 4x25 m pool. We do not send on the medals which are not collected. For each masterrecord a certificate is handed out, you can collect this certificate together with the medal at the medal table. Swimwear: During the Dutch Open Master Championships the KNZB follows the rules of the FINA concerning the swimwear. - 13 -
