HOW TO USE THIS DIRECTORY The campsites in this directory are listed under the Guide Regions where they are situated. There is a map showing the various Regions on page 9. At the time of printing, the campsite information is correct, but variations may occur from time to time, particularly with names/numbers of booking officers. Please advise State Camping Committee via your Region Camping Consultant (RCC) or through the Support Centre on 3252 3061, if you find any discrepancies. Symbols have been used for some information: Residential accommodation Under canvas accommodation Cooking equipment supplied Full catering only As public venues are increasingly being used for trips and camps, it is important that leaders are aware of any potential outside disturbances and consider these in risk management plans prior to camp (eg. Fathers for security ). Leaders are urged to visit campsites beforehand to ensure that they will satisfy the requirements of your camp. Campsites for use by Guides must be ratified. They must be visited and assessed by your RCC or an experienced camper appointed by the RCC. Documentation is via the Campsite Inspection Form. Campsites may be submitted to camping committee for inclusion in this Campsite Directory or kept for region/district/unit use alone. IMPORTANT NOTE These ratification s are for campsites only. You MUST NOT automatically assume that any adventurous activities offered are also ratified. Two different processes are involved here. Ratification of adventurous activities isn t difficult. Phone your RAAC (Region Adventurous Activities Consultant) or RWAC (Region Water Activities Consultant) for advice. Page 4
QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN CHOOSING A VENUE The Camping Association of Victoria has provided these guidelines to assist you. You need to ensure the campsite matches your needs.
