We can support you with either option.

4 INSTRUCTOR TRAINING SCHEME We build our team by recruiting the best candidates for our Instructor Training Scheme and investing heavily in their training and development... EARN WHILST YOU TRAIN Most Instructor Training programmes cost thousands of pounds up front, only last a couple of months and are usually in the quiet winter season. Mendip has pioneered an alternative way into the industry. We pay you from day one. You ll earn at least 530 per month and you ll get a full year of training and experience. The basic allowance can be topped up as soon as you gain in-house or NGB qualifications. By the time our peak season begins you ll be able to lead your own sessions in some activities and top up your basic allowance by 22 per 2.5 hour session. If you add the cost of training and qualifications to your basic allowance and your session bonus payments you ll be earning the equivalent of a full time instructor. There are also other opportunities to increase your earnings with paid casual work available in the Alpine Lounge Café-Bar and the snow sport equipment fitting room. EXPERIENCE No previous experience necessary. Our unique two day interview gives us the opportunity to really get to know each other. You ll get the chance to try some of our activities, have a tour of our centre and facilities and meet our team. 9 MENDIP ACTIVITY CENTRE Mendip Snowsport Centre forms the central part of our 250 acre woodland activity site. MENDIP SNOWSPORT CENTRE Our 250 acre woodland activity site on the edge of the Mendips has a private 50 acre rock sport quarry with a 150 foot abseil and climbs to challenge all ages. We also have a climbing tower, a permanent archery and rifle shooting range, a dry slope for skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing, a large camping area, several bush craft and forest school sites, orienteering courses and an abandoned mineral mine for an introduction to caving. 10 HEWISH MULTI-ACTIVITY SITE Our green field multi-activity site in Hewish has exclusive river access, an assault course with two parallel lanes of obstacles, archery ranges and team building challenges! HEWISH Our multi-activity site in Hewish has exclusive access to the Old Bridge River for canoeing, kayaking, raft building, river crossings and bridge building. This green field site is home to our assault course which consists of two parallel lanes of identical obstacles, archery ranges and initiative exercises. 11 BURRINGTON COMBE Burrington Combe is renowned for its limestone climbing and access to the largest underground cave network in the UK. Mendip have been proud custodians of this landmark site for more than 25 years! BURRINGTON COMBE Deep in the heart of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - this gorge has exposed some great limestone rock, ideal for climbing and abseiling. Burrington Combe also conceals the largest underground river system in the UK and is a national centre for caving. Mendip has been proud custodians of this landmark site, located just 2 miles from our main base, for well over 25 years! 12 MENDIP S TENTED VILLAGE Mendip s 40 acre tented village forms part of our 250 acre activity centre and accommodates schools, youth groups and corporate teams from April to October. MENDIP HILL TOP CAMPSITE Mendip s 40 acre canvas village forms part of our 250 acre Activity Centre within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The accommodation village has been built specifically for large groups and provides the perfect base for an activity camp. The ten canvas bunkhouses accommodate up to 120 people and the central canvas Hub is 3,600 square feet of flexible marquee space that can accommodate up to 250 people. Our canvas village is booked by schools, youth groups and for corporate teams.

13 ON SITE FACILITIES Our on site facilities are utilised to ensure you get the most out of your training opportunity BASECAMP Basecamp is our unique multi-purpose function room. You ll use Basecamp for the theory based parts of any NGB courses and in-house training we run at the centre. THE ALPINE LOUNGE We recently refurbished our cafe-bar taking inspiration from vintage alpine ski lodges. The result is a cosy, inviting and rustic interior and a great new menu. Our menu is sourced from local suppliers, Somerset Farms and West Country suppliers. It's simple, filling, honest, affordable après-ski food. As a member of our team you ll benefit from cheap hot drinks, snacks and meals which are available all day, every day.
