OUR PEOPLE AND TRAINING INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT The greatest thing you can instil in a workforce is pride in who they are, what they do and who they work for. At Forgacs, our people are proud of the growth we have achieved together and are genuinely excited about our future. Pat Tallon, CEO, Civmec Group Forgacs has grown and developed a highly skilled and competent workforce capable of constructing, assembling, maintaining and servicing complex offshore and onshore modularised steel structures and civil construction works. Our recruitment strategy is to attract, develop and retain the right people; those with values aligned to our own. Our success is attributed to applying the best ideas, people and technology in forming highly experienced project management teams and a committed workforce that are engaged and dedicated to the realisation of our values and vision. We acknowledge that the development and professionalism of our people underpins our performance; they drive continuous improvement, deliver outcomes and continually pursue excellence. We ensure the right people deliver the right projects, providing our clients with the best technical knowledge, industry experience and capability to drive high performance and exceed expectations. We have made a commitment to stay at the forefront of our industry, providing our people with the right skills and training for today and a pathway for the future. Forgacs recognises the essential role training and professional development plays in enhancing the skills of the workforce, retaining a competitive edge and offering our clients competent and capable teams to meet their objectives. Drawing on the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status of our parent company, Forgacs invests in our people to enhance their skills, to support their professional development and to enable them to reach their full potential. Forgacs is committed to providing employment, training opportunities and cultural diversity awareness within its organisation. Our vision is to make a positive difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our Reconciliation Action Plan will help us achieve that vision. We acknowledge and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their full participation in the economic development of this nation. To ensure that our business is inclusive, our employees are encouraged and provided with the opportunity to develop their understanding of the cultures of our nation s first people. From actively seeking out local Indigenous suppliers and subcontractors to fostering young talent, we aim to improve the lives of those Indigenous Australians amongst us. Our parent company, Civmec s training team works in partnership with the Wirrpanda Foundation to provide free training for the Foundation s candidates. Many of these candidates have gone on to find full-time employment within Civmec and Forgacs. Additionally, our partnership with the David Liddiard Group via our sister company Civmec DLG aims to provide Indigenous Australians with opportunities to participate through employment and career transition. Our combined understanding and experience in both industry capability and Indigenous participation, ensures that each project is able to demonstrate authentic engagement with local Indigenous communities while upskilling the local workforce, ensuring a sustainable economic benefit wherever we deliver projects. INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY AND VALUE ENGINEERING At Forgacs, we challenge existing processes and practices. We look beyond constraints for more practical solutions. We work smarter to achieve better project outcomes. We seek opportunities to become involved in projects in partnership with our clients, where possible. Our experience tells us that early involvement during the project concept phase gives greater ability to influence design. This, in turn, can have a positive effect on construction and schedule outcomes. This early involvement, and subsequent value engineering, ensures schedule and cost benefits for the project. Maximum results achieved through early contractor involvement, addressing issues such as: Design and specification critique; Materials selection; Standardisation in selection and sizing of equipment; Offsite fabrication and modularisation; Automation of installation processes; Constructability; Programming and scheduling refinements; Commissioning process finalisation; and Verification and validation Our fresh and open-minded approach to problem solving, together with technical expertise and cost effectiveness, has earned Forgacs an enviable track record as well as that all important vote of confidence repeat business....
