As Australia s market leader in data centres, Metronode operates and manages 10 data centre facilities throughout Australia with particular expertise in high-density, energy efficient data centre design and construction (Australian first with Uptime Institute Tier III Gold certification for Operational Sustainability and awarded highest NABERS Rating for Australian Data Centre Energy Efficiency).

4 Our Vision Our vision is to be experts in ultra-high bandwidth networks and high-density, energy-efficient data centres across Australia. Accordingly, our mission is to achieve world s best practice for delivering, securing and managing the data that is critical for both government and enterprise. We achieve this through our planned investment which continually improves the service performance of our networks and meets the infrastructure requirements of our customers. Corporate credentials Originally established as Nextgen Networks in 2001, Nextgen Group has played a vital role in the evolution of Australia s telecommunications and data centre services markets. In particular, we have delivered game changing solutions to mining, oil and gas, defence and federal government organisations. We are 71% owned by Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP), which has $US154.5 billion in net assets and is one of the world s leading investors. The remaining 29% is held by CIMIC Group Investments Pty Ltd, a major Australian construction and engineering company. These owners provide Nextgen Group with the financial strength and stability to continue to invest and service Australia s leading corporate and government organisations. Fifteen years of rapid growth has been underpinned by a foundation of product innovation, service reliability and customer loyalty.

6 Ultra High-Speed Network For Australian businesses, government agencies, carriers and system integrators, Nextgen Group offers total infrastructure solutions that deliver meaningful business outcomes. We operate one of Australia s largest and most sophisticated networks. It connects to Australia s mainland capital cities and to regional and remote areas, connecting communities across the country, including Alice Springs, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Mackay, and Tennant Creek. As part of this we also established Australia s first national Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) network. 7 North-West Cable System In May 2014, Nextgen Group announced a project called the North-West Cable System (NWCS). The NWCS will be Australia s first purpose-built, subsea, fibre-optic network for the resources industry. The subsea cable system will be built, owned and operated by Nextgen Group and will form part of Nextgen s national fibre network. The cable system seamlessly connects offshore Oil and Gas facilities in the Browse, Bonaparte and Carnarvon Basins to on-shore locations including data centres and business headquarters. This is achieved through: 2,100km fibre between landing stations Port Hedland and Darwin Branching cables and riser cables to the Oil and Gas platforms Terrestrial optical fibre connectivity The project is scheduled for completion in August The Benefits Additionally, the cable system connects the Pilbara region which has 44,000 employees and an export in excess or $47b AUD annually ( com.au/pilbara), making it key for economic growth in Australia. Oil and Gas The NWCS is integrated with the Nextgen Group terrestrial network to provide dedicated transmission services to off-shore oil and gas platforms. Services are available in speeds up to 40Gbps wavelengths and customers connected to the NWCS will have access to the full suite of service offerings. The services can be provided back to Perth, Darwin or to the capital cities along the Eastern seaboard. Applications of the cable include: Remote Operations and Monitoring Emergency Management Live Remote Feed Analysis of Telemetry information On platform worker entertainment Australia is a major exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the third largest exporter in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2011, Australia exported 18.9 million tonnes of LNG valued at approximately $11.1 billion (innovation.gov.au). Many resource companies operate in this space and often in remote off-shore locations. The requirements for connectivity are driven by the operational improvements now available through the digitisation, remote access and mobilisation of every aspect of the platform operations. The North-West Cable System offers an alternative solution to satellite connectivity with greater speeds and superior reliability, which is especially evident in adverse weather conditions.

8 Metronode Data Centres Nextgen Group s capabilities are supported by our data centres, which operate under the Metronode brand, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nextgen Group. Metronode is Australia s leading data centre specialist with many leading accreditations and certifications. We own, operate and manage data centres with high-density, low latency capacity and have achieved leading energy efficiency ratings. First to achieve 4.5 NABERS rating for data centre energy efficiency at the Silverwater and Melbourne facilities Over 34,000m 2 of lettable area throughout Australia with plans for further expansion Being vendor neutral offers customers the flexibility to work with the preferred service provider however there are definite advantages when we work with Nextgen Networks. We offer a variety of facilities across our five first-generation and five second-generation locations including private suites and co-location space. The second-generation data centres are designed to deliver a world-leading power usage effectiveness (PUE* ) rating of below 1.2. This is part of Metronode s commitment to creating a better future by using energy more efficiently.
