1 Overview of the system The LMS-TAS (named LMS in the following description), is an order management software for the handling of loading processes. Mostly liquid products will be filled into trucks, rail way wagons, ships, containers or barrels. The software is designed for the communication to the batch and loading controllers type Batching Master 110i/210i or BC 20 from IBS BatchControl in 53925 Kall / Germany ( www.ibs-batchcontrol.com ). The loading processes of the trucks are controlled by the batch controllers, type Batching Master 110i/210i in the field. The printer communication controller PCC 400 communicates with the batch controllers in the field and it creates custody transfer proofed loading protocols after each loading process. The PCC 400 communicates also with the LMS Software via the local Ethernet. The LMS software is used for the management of contracts with the customers and planed loading orders. The LMS has different data bases and it creates delivery notes, statistics and reports. Page 4

Typical connection plan of the instruments: Terminal function: The PCC 400 is able to switch the Batching Master into an operator interface modus which is called Terminal Function. In this modus the PCC 400 is able to indicate question texts at the display of the Batching Master and the operator is able to make inputs via the keypad of the Batching Master. Access control: At the beginning of the loading procedure the operator needs to enter the ID code of the loading order at the Batching Master. When the order with this ID code is present in the PCC400, then the operator gets the access for the loading procedure. Page 5

2 Scope of functionalities of the LMS software 2.1 General functions The design of the LMS software is done conform the modern state of art of software development. It is easy to use. On the left site there are buttons for the switching between the main menus Administration, Management, Evaluations/Statistics and Terminal Monitoring. Data sets are shown in tables and they can be modified via the function buttons at the top line of the window. The following benefits allow a user-friendly operation: Various filter functions allow the searching of data when the data sets are shown as table. The filter function can be used only for one column of the table. Data input or the modification of the data sets via input windows. Selection possibilities of table elements or complete blocks for printing or for the copy into other programs like EXCEL. Printout of lists via Windows printer in the network or storing as PDF files. The sequence of the columns can be changed for each indication table. The sort sequence of the tables can be changed easily. Input fields for dates with calendar functions. Auto completion functions in the main input windows. Page 6

2.2 Master data Data bases for the following master data are available: customers, carriers, vehicles, products and storage locations. In the indication windows of the master data sets there are the following functionalities available: Insert, changing, delete, indication of list with filter functions and the printout of lists. 2.2.1 Customer data base The address and contact information of the customers are stored inside the customers data base. A list of contact persons is available for each customer, one person can be marked as main contact. Also a list of products which can be delivered to this customer is available. Different delivery addresses can be entered for each customer. At the input mask for the creation of an order it is possible to select a customer and the delivery address out of this data base. Page 7

2.2.2 Carrier data base The design of the data base of the carriers is similar to the data base of the customers. Sub lists with contact persons and possible products are available. For each carrier a list of dedicated vehicles is available. At the input mask for the creation of a loading order it is possible to select a carrier and the right vehicle out of this data base. Page 8

2.2.3 Vehicles data base The information about the vehicles are stored in a data base, each vehicle needs to be dedicated to a carrier. This data base can also be used for the information about different containers, IBC or barrels which are used for the barrel filling functionality. In the table valid products it is possible to select, which products are allowed for the transport with this vehicle: If the optional Multi-Chamber-Function is ordered, then it is possible to program the maximal volume for the chambers and to define the loading sequence of the chambers in this window: Page 9

2.2.4 Product data base All available products are listed inside the product data base. The information about the volume and mass units are defined and it is possible to define which kind of vehicles can be used for the transport of this product. 2.2.5 Storage locations data base In this window the information of storage locations (tanks) can be entered and the kind of the stored product is defined. The LMS software calculates the volume of product inside the tank. Product loadings (Exit) will be substracted automatically and product deliveries (Entries) can be booked manually. It is also possible to indicate the actual tank level, coming from a level instrument which is connected to a 4-20 ma analoge input of the batch controllers. Page 10

2.3 Order management and the planning of loadings Two kinds of orders are available: 1. Contracts are main contracts between the company and the customers. 2. Orders are planed loading orders for the transport of a product. Loading orders are dedicated to a contract and also the truck and the loading terminal can be selected. It s also possible to create an order when no contract is available. 2.3.1 Contracts (Main contracts with the customers) 2.3.1.1 Contract management Each contract will get an individual contract number. It is possible to define the time period in which the contract is valid. The customer name, the delivery address as well as the carrier can be selected out of the data bases. It s also possible to lock the contract for new deliveries. Each contract is valid for only one product. It can be selected in the following window: The contract can be limited by the value or by the numbers of deliveries. An overdraft of the contact can be forbidden, allowed or allowed one time. Page 11

2.3.1.2 Creation of a loading order out of a contract It is possible to define a loading order direct out of a contract by the button New Order in the function line at the top of the window. It is possible to generate more than one loading order at one time. After this the loading order is directly available. 2.3.2 Orders (Loading orders) The order can be created quick and easy out of a contract. The order will be named based on the contract number and the number of the order which is created from this contract. For each loading procedure it is necessary to create one order. Inside the order it is defined at which loading station the loading need to be done and in which time period the order is valid. Page 12

2.3.2.1 Loading data of an order The following information need to be entered: - Customer name - Delivery address - Carrier - Vehicle - Product - Quantity of the loading 2.3.2.2 Barrel filling Barrel filling is a special functionality of the LMS software. It is possible to program the value and how many barrels or IBCs have to be loaded. The numbers of barrels will be loaded at the loading station one after the other when this order will be selected. 2.3.2.3 Multi chamber loading (optional) If the optional multi chamber loading is available, then it s possible to enter an individual loading quantity for each chamber. The loading sequence is fixed in the vehicle data base. It s possible to have up to 6 chambers. If the order will be selected at the loading station, then the operator gets the indication which chamber will be loaded and which quantity is required. Page 13

2.4 Loading procedure / Delivery notes 2.4.1 Truck or wagon loading The procedure of the loading is as follow: An order for a loading will be programmed and released in the LMS software. This loading order has a code number. The operator has to enter this code number of the order at the batch controller in the field. The PCC 400 checks if the code is available. When the order is valid then the operator gets the access for the loading. Optional the operator needs to confirm some additional security instructions. The pre-set value for the loading will be sent to the batch controller. The loading can be started. During the loading process the PCC 400 transmits the actual statusinformation to the LMS software each 10 seconds. When the loading is finished, then the PCC 400 delivers a file with the batch results and a PDF-file of the custody transfer loading protocol to the LMS software. 2.4.2 Barrel loading The barrel loading is working in the same way like the truck loading. When the barrel loading order is selected at the loading station, then each barrel has its own pre-set value and each loading process runs independent. The PCC 400 sends the batch results for each barrel to the LMS software. The results of all loading processes will be added at the LMS software and the delivery note will be created. 2.4.3 Volume at standard temperature e.g. at 15 C If the flow conversion function at the batch controller is activated, then the volume at standard temperature will also be stored in the LMS software. 2.4.4 Product selection (optional) Via the PCC 400 and the Batching Master it s possible to make a product selection of up to 7 products. Then a Modbus relay module gives out the product way information signal in order to switch the right product way. Optional it is possible to select the product at the LMS software and then the product way information will be transmitted to the batching system in the field. Page 14

2.4.5 Monitoring of the loading terminals 2.4.5.1 Status indication of the loading terminals At the menu Terminal Monitoring Loading Terminals Monitoring the status of the loading terminals are indicated in a list. This list shows the loading information and the status of the loading process. The information comes from the PCC 400 and it will be updated each 10 seconds.
