Annual Meeting of the German Pharmaceutical Society DPhG Trends and Perspectives in Pharmaceutical Sciences Frankfurt/Main September 24 26, 2014 at Goethe University

Welcome Address Dear colleagues, as President of the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG) and congress chairman I would like to invite you to come to Frankfurt in September and attend our Annual DPhG meeting 2014 that focuses on Trends and Perspectives in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This meeting is a very special meeting for us, because thanks to the initiative of Prof. Schubert-Zsilavecz, the Vice President of Goethe University, our meeting will be part of the jubilee festivities celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Goethe University. The city of Frankfurt in the heart of Germany and Europe is the ideal place to honor our very close relationship with one of our most important partners, the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (PSJ). The founder of the PSJ, Nagayoshi Nagai, spent his postdoc time in Germany and in 1871 he started his famous works on ephedrine in the laboratory of Prof. Hofmann. We will dedicate a special afternoon session to the Medicinal Chemistry in Japan. One of the highlights of the meeting will be the Nagayoshi Nagai Memorial Lecture given by Prof. Shibasaki, the President of the PSJ. I look forward to welcoming you in Frankfurt for a fruitful meeting with stimulating scientific exchange and discussions. Prof. Dr. Dieter Steinhilber DPhG President
