1. Effects of the Windows Firewall 1-1 1. Effects of the Windows Firewall The Windows firewall is software that checks information (communication) sent from the internet or network, and either blocks or allows that information to pass to a computer. DAQWORX and recorder related software have programs that perform communications that can be interfered with by the Windows firewall. If a program fails to run due to the Windows firewall, you can either disable the firewall or refer to this document to specify to "Allow a Program Through Windows Firewall." PC Firewall Internet/Network Confirm befor setting to Windows firewall If DAQWORX and recorder related software do not work, it may not be only due to the Windows firewall. Check the following before attempting to configure a Windows firewall. Check the internet connection status using the ping command. If the ping fails, check the cables, hub, IP address settings, and other factors to determine the cause. Check that procedures performed on the software are correct. If the problem cannot be solved after taking the above measures, it is likely that there will be problems with the firewall settings.

Appendix. App-1 Appendix. Programs that can be granted permission Programs that may be influenced by the Windows firewall are as given below. All programs in your PC environment are not necessarily affected by the Windows firewall. If the problem is not solved even before checking the Windows firewall settings (see chapter 1, "Effects of the Window Firewall") and you suspect that the firewall is causing a malfunction, refer to the following to allow the program to pass the firewall.
