Job Summary 2014 has seen significant change in the Hospital and with a new Chairman and CEO in place. In 2015 we will continue our journey of exciting redevelopment of the Hospital. To support that, we are looking for an exceptional HR Advisor, reporting to the Head of Human Resources; to join the team in delivering a proactive and flexible HR service supporting managers and staff. As part of this you will: Provide first line advice to all managers and staff on HR issues Employee relations and providing high quality, timely and pragmatic advice to managers and staff Management of the HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements Delivery of annual training and development plan and management of the e-learning database Support the monthly payroll run Management of the HR system Person Specification We are looking for an experienced generalist HR Advisor who echoes the Hospitals brand identity and culture. As a confident, professional, polished communicator, you will provide a professional, comprehensive, proactive and pragmatic HR service to managers and staff. You will have gained exposure to employee relations issues, and have experience in providing ER advice to managers driving successful outcomes.
Job Description Job Title: Reports to: HR ADVISOR HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES Job purpose: To deliver proactive and flexible HR service supporting managers and staff by providing relevant, appropriate and pragmatic HR advice and support, whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all Hospital procedures, documented policies and employment legislation. Summary of role and responsibilities The role requires a generalist with an extensive knowledge of HR policies and procedures. The HR Advisor supports the Head of HR in all areas but specifically leads on: First line advice to all managers and staff on HR issues Employee relations and providing high quality, timely and pragmatic advice to managers and staff; Management of the HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements; delivery of the annual training and development plan and management of the e-learning database; Support the monthly payroll run; and Management of the HR system; The post holder may lead on specific HR projects and will work collaboratively with all Departments to provide core operational and transactional HR service and support. They will also be responsible for managing HR systems and processes and assisting managers to resolve employee issues by providing professional and high quality advice and support. Specific Responsibilities: To provide a professional, comprehensive, proactive and pragmatic HR service to Managers and staff. To provide a high quality generalist HR service encompassing employee relations, performance management, learning and development, pay and reward, and employment law issues; To provide first line advice to all managers and staff on HR issues
Updating and implementing the annual Training and Development plan including managing of the e-learning system; overseeing all training administration Providing HR advice, support and input into any change initiatives; Maintaining and implementing HR policies and procedures and creating new policies following legislative or organisational changes; Managing and maintaining HR systems and processes ensuring at all times that the HR database is up to date and accurate. Support managers and staff in using ESS/MSS Work closely with the Head of HR to ensure that the monthly payroll runs smoothly and is accurate Working closely with the Recruitment Advisor to ensure a positive on-boarding process for new starters
Person Specification Qualifications, Training, Professional Memberships or Accreditations: Full or part qualified member of the CIPD. Funding for completion of CIPD training may be available for the right candidate. Experience: Generalist HR experience. Previous experience as a HR Advisor is desirable Strong employment law experience Experience in providing ER advice to line managers which drives successful outcomes; Previous experience in updating and implementing new policies and procedures Some experience of payroll would be helpful but is not essential as full training will be provided Skills: Confident communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships based on trust at all levels Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment Strong attention to details Proficient in the use of MS Office and HR Systems, ideally HR.net and ADP Freedom.

Normal working hours are from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with 30minutes for lunch. However you may be required to work at times other than this.
