1. Introduction Remote Terminal Service (RTS) provides a secure way for authorized users to access corporate internal network services over the Internet. RTS provides you with a personalized portal that is customized for you based on the credentials that you enter into the RTS. Meanwhile, RTS infrastructure has been used for several years and already reached the end of support stage. The infrastructure must be upgrade. Updated RTS is implemented in order to continue provide such service to user. - Before you use this service, following prerequisites must be met: You are authorized and granted privilege to access RTS over the Internet as RTS requires your personal credentials to log onto the corporate network. Your - Internet Broadband If 2. Prerequisites - You Your PC must be running OS either Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2 or Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit windows version is supported. To add following URLs to Trusted Sites, you have to open Internet Explorer go to Tools menu select Internet Options go to Security tab click Trusted Sites and then add following URLs one-by-one. http://csg.mtr.com.hk https://csg.mtr.com.hk need Power User or Administrator privilege of your PC to install RTS client program. PC will be installed with RTS Client v12.1.0.30 or later. The RTS portal is configured to check the existence and version of the RTS Client on your PC. If the RTS Client is too old or does not exist, the RTS portal will prompt you to download and install the updated one as stated in 2. Download and Install RTS Client for Windows Vista/XP/7. Page 3

3. Logon Corporate Network via Internet 3.1. Connect your PC to Internet in accordance with your Internet Service Provider s (ISP) configuration guide. 3.2. After successful connection to the Internet, launch your Internet Explorer and go to MTR extranet portal http://info.mtr.com.hk. 3.3. Locate and click the Remote Terminal Service (RTS) and click Logon button to bring up the RTS logon page or type https://csg.mtr.com.hk into the Address field of your IE 3.4. The main logon page of RTS is displayed as follows. Figure 1 3.5. Enter your LAN id (your office XP workstation account) and password (your office XP workstation password) into the Username and Password fields respectively as depicted in Figure 1. (You are not require to enter the domain) 3.6. The main page is displayed after click the Log On button to log onto Corporate network. Page 4

According to user rights, their own application icon will be displayed 3.7. Double click the application icon for launch application e.g. EIP 3.8. Click the Log OFF to logout the RTS system. 3.9. Click the Return to Log On button to continue. Page 5

3.10. Log on page will be displayed for re-log or close Internet Explorer. Page 6

4. Download and Install RTS Client for Windows Vista/XP/7 4.1. Before download and install RTS client, the section 2 prerequisites must be met. 4.2. User can click and download Remote Terminal Service (RTS) Client from http://info.mtr.com.hk to install as depicted below 4.3. Click Run to continue Page 7

4.4. Click Run to continue 4.5. Please wait for install. 4.6. After installation completed, please client OK to continue. Page 8

4.7. User can locate and click the Remote Terminal Service (RTS) and click Logon button to bring up the RTS logon page or type https://csg.mtr.com.hk into the Address field of your IE RTS Portal will detect the existence of the RTS Client on your PC after your logging onto the RTS Portal. If you don t have RTS Client installed on your PC or your RTS Client is prior to version 12.1.0.30, the RTS Portal will prompt you to download and install the updated RTS Client. 4.8. However, please note that automatic installation of the RTS Client on Windows PC requires you to have administrative rights on your PC, or that the ActiveX control be registered in the Active Directory. 4.9. If no RTS client is detected on your local PC, you will be prompted to download and install the RTS Client at RTS logon page. Click the check box to accept agreement and then click the INSTALL button to continue. Page 9

4.10. Click Run button to continue. 4.11. RTS client is downloading. 4.12. Click Run button to continue. Page 10

4.13. RTS client is installing 4.14. After RTS client installation is completed, click OK button to continue. 4.15. The main logon page of RTS is displayed again as follows and the message An appropriate client is available on your computer. will be displayed to indicate RTS client installation success. Page 11

4.16. After logon success, double click the application e.g. EIP. The new RTS client should be run as follow 5. RTS Client Version RTS system supports RTS client version 8.0 or above for connection. The icon of connection centre of version12.1 is different from version 8.0 and version 10.0. After logon success and run application, the connection centre icon is displayed on right corner The RTS client version 12.1 The RTS client version 8.0 or 10.0 The RTS client version 8.0 or 10.0 can still connect to RTS system normally and PC does not need to update with latest client version unless it is corrupted or problem occur. 6. Printing from RTS Application When you logon RTS application, the printer driver of your local PC will be automatically created on the RTS backend server. The printer driver will be in the format of Client\your_NT_domain-your_id#\your_printer_model However, there is a chance that the RTS backend server fails to create printer driver for you when the printer driver installed locally to your PC is too new. Therefore, you are recommended to consult IT Help Desk at (852) 2993 2993 or E-mail: it-helpdesk@mtr.com.hk before buying any new model of printers if you want to use it with RTS. 7. Logout RTS Portal 7.1. You should logout from RTS Portal when you no longer require access to the applications hosted at RTS Portal. To logout from RTS Portal, you should follow the steps below: 7.2. Click the Log Off button located on the right top corner of the frame of the RTS Portal and select Disconnect to click After clicking the Log Off button, your RTS Portal connection will be terminated Page 13

7.3. Click the Return to Log On button to continue. 7.4. Log on page will be displayed for re-log or close Internet Explorer. Page 14
