Outlook Web Access is an online, limited version of an Outlook client which can be used to access an exchange account from a web browser, without having an Outlook client installed on hard disk drive. To begin, start and internet browser (Internet Explorer is recommended) and type the following line into the address bar: www.sasktelexchange.com Your Internet Browser will take you to this page, where you can specify if you are on a public computer, your own private computer or if you wish to use Outlook Web Access Light. You then will be prompted for your e-mail address and password. After entering both, click on Log on. 1
Mail The Mail tab has the ability for a user to change the pane view to split the screen from top to bottom or right to left. You are also able to navigate the Inbox as well as the associated folders. In the bottom left hand corner there are six different menu options, each of which will take you to a different section. The mail tab is selected by default. The other options available are: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Documents and Public Folders. 6 Different Menu Options 2
Calendar The Calendar tab will allow you to view and edit the calendar of your account. The calendar is a full featured calendar where if on the Lite or Plus package, a user can have shared and personal calendars. Users can also switch between many different views such as daily, weekly, work week and month views. 3
Contacts The Contacts tab, will allow you to view and create contacts in Outlook Web Access. Contacts (depending on the package chosen) will also allow for a personal and global address list. Global address lists are similar to most corporate address books where users of a company are automatically added to the list and are searchable by users within that company. Tasks The Tasks tab brings up any e-mails that you have previously marked as flagged or to remind you of things to do. 4
Documents The Document tab window is used to access Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services servers, or Windows file share servers from Outlook Web Access which allows you to view files and post information. Click on Open Location to start. Public Folders The Public Folders tab, will allow you to gain access through your mail to shared folders within the company. 5
Outlook Web Access Options Menu In the top right corner of the above screen shot is where the Options menu is located. If you click on the Options button you will be brought to the options menu for Outlook Web Access. 6
Regional Settings The Regional Settings tab will allow you to change the language and date/time formats in Outlook Web Access. Messaging The Messaging tab allows you to change your e-mail signature, as well as many options like message format or how to mark messages as read and play sounds when receiving a message. 7
Spelling The Spelling tab contains options related to spellchecking such as : 1. Ignore words in UPPERCASE 2. Ignore words with numbers 3. Always check spelling before sending Dictionary Language can also be changed by utilizing the drop down menu. Calendar The Calendar tab controls the options for viewing your calendar. 8
Out Of Office Assistant The Out Of Office Assistant tab is where a user can turn on the Out of Office Assistant and set the auto reply message and the time frame. Rules The Rules tab will allow the user to create, view and change rules for the inbox. 9
E-mail Security The E-mail Security tab gives the users the option to download S/MIME Control (security features for message encrypting. Please note if this option is utilized that Internet Explorer 8.0 is required. Junk E-mail The Junk E-mail tab allows the user to enable automatic junk e-mail filtering or to disable it. 10
General Settings The General Settings tab contains accessibility and appearance settings, as well as determining to use the global address list or contacts first when using e-mail name resolution. Deleted Items The Deleted Items tab sets options for automatic deletion upon logoff and recovering deleted items. 11
