Salesforce.com are opening a UK datacentre with government security accreditation, opening these services to UK Government clients. 1. Scope of our services This document describes Accenture s Force.com Cloud Services and should be read in conjunction with the associated Government Cloud IV Services documentation. Accenture provides Force.com Cloud Services that include: Application Portfolio Optimisation: define a strategy for transitioning development towards Force.com. The strategy would include identifying specific opportunities and possible roadmaps. This can include a suitability assessment of migration to cloud for an application portfolio as well as help compare and contrast vendors. Pilots: setup parallel pilot projects as well as doing actual cost comparison analysis based on the different pricing models as part of the pilots. Implementation / Setup: provide resources to help setup and configure the Force.com environment and deploy this into the organisation. An implementation can further include the migration of existing applications or inflight development of new applications onto Force.com. Governance: define processes for Force.com provisioning and usage. Confirm that controls are in place and roles well-defined to help manage the Force.com environments and ensure cost effective usage. Application Migration: provide resources to help migrate existing applications to Force.com. In particular Java applications that need to be modified to ensure compatibility with Force.com. Application Development: provide resources to support application development on Force.com, either as the core development team or as Subject Matter Experts. 2. Approach The Accenture Force.com Services are based on Accenture s tried and tested methodology for delivering cloud application assessments and implementations. This includes a series of toolkits and templates for all phases which have been developed with clients in numerous industries from across the world. The following outlines the process for a Force.com Implementation. Timelines will vary and will depend on the scope of the services as well as the scale and number of applications in question. Depending on the scope of the services the phases below may be executed in isolation. 3
Force.com Implementation Process 3. Assets and tools Accenture brings a comprehensive set of tools and methodologies for rapid completion of cost-effective Force.com projects. Accenture uses a range of assets and tools throughout the delivery lifecycle to achieve high performance examples of which are provided below: Accenture Delivery Suite The Accenture Delivery Methods Estimator for SaaS is used to estimate Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations including Salesforce.com and includes estimating factors calibrated using actuals from prior projects. SaaS Delivery Toolkit Provides a tool to manage the activities associated with the implementation of a SaaS solution and for on-going maintenance and optimisation post go-live including: o Requirements Gathering and Prioritisation o Design Specification o Test Enablement o Project Status o Risk and Issues Management o Project Reporting & Dashboards o Project Plans & Release Schedules o Resource Allocation Accenture Delivery Methods for iterative development is used to provide a methodology for rapid application development of applications on the Force.com platform. Accenture Enterprise Services for Government (AESG) 4
Accenture Enterprise Services for Government (AESG) provides an enterprise solution for the back office functions of a government, namely Finance, Human Capital Management and Procurement. It links industry-leading processes packaged with complete project lifecycle documentation and a range of tools, methods and templates tailored to the needs of the public sector industry. 4. The Accenture Cloud Application Factory for Force.com To gain greater agility, transparency and cost control, leading organisations are embracing an emerging opportunity: migrating their application portfolios to the cloud. But to maximise the returns from moving to the cloud, Accenture recommends that IT organisations first optimise their application portfolios which involves analysing the portfolios to identify the applications that are best suited to the cloud and create a plan for transforming operating models and the IT organisation to become much more cloud-friendly. Recognising these cloud migration requirements, Accenture has developed the Accenture Cloud Application Factory for Force.com: an industrialised delivery approach that makes it easier to either migrate existing applications or custom-build new ones on the Force.com platform. The Accenture Cloud Application Factory for Force.com enables IT organisations to reduce cloud migration costs by using repeatable delivery processes, scalable delivery resources, and tried and tested development tools. To assist IT departments to achieve cost and time reduction benefits, the Accenture Cloud Application Factory for Force.com comprises the following elements: Suitability Survey: Identifies groups of applications for which migration to Force.com offers the greatest potential return for the lowest cost. Component Library: Tracks and manages application components and identifies commonalities to help cut development time and cost on an on-going basis. Accenture SaaS Delivery Toolkit: Manages and maintains applications, enhancements and upgrades, as well as resources and releases.
