Exporting from FirstClass Create a folder on the desktop of your workstation Label the folder Export Inside the Export folder create three additional folders and label them Email Export Contacts Export Folder Export Calendars and calendar data cannot be exported from FirstClass
Exporting Emails from FirstClass Emails that you receive and open expire after 60 days. These emails are purged from the mail server. If you want to save some of these emails follow these procedures.
Start FirstClass and open your mail box Select those emails that you want to export by clicking on the first email, then hold down the shift key and select other emails. You can select individual emails or multiple emails. ( see slide)
A window opens when you right click on the selected emails. Find and click on export. A message will appear asking where do you want the export to go. Find the Export folder on the desktop. Open that folder and find the Email Export folder. Open that folder and save to the Email Export folder.
Check to see if the selected emails were exported to the Email Export folder in the Export folder. When you open the Email folder it should resemble the top right example. Open one of the saved emails (second right example ) You should see 4 options. Find the text document, it usually is the third choice. Open the text document and you should see all the information from that email. See the next slide You can open the other examples to see if there is additional information. ( i.e. an attachment )

Exporting Contacts from FirstClass Exporting contacts will be formatted in a csv. File This file can then be bulk uploaded into Office 365 There is a problem with exporting mailing lists. Do not attempt to export a mailing list. You will follow the same procedure as you did when exporting emails.
Open the contacts icon in FirstClass Double click on the Contacts icon Select by clicking on the first selection and holding down the shift key to select your contacts You can select individual contacts or several contacts Do not select a list
Right click in the center of your selections A small window will appear with export as a selection. Click on export Viewing the second example make sure that you select: Selected Contacts and For Use with Outlook ( csv ) Click OK Save to the Contacts folder on the desktop.
Open the contacts folder. You should now see the csv file. The file name will be the first contact on the list. Open the csv file. It will look like a typical excel spreadsheet. ( second picture ) Do nothing to this file. You will use this csv file to import into Outlook.
