SUCCeEding experimenting SHARING Going further Are you ready for business? A department of Ecole Centrale de Lille in partnership with SKEMA Business School

Entreprendre [ ntr prendr ] Having an idea, regardless of its nature, and the will to put it into practice. In this respect, an "enterprise spirit" is closely bound with a determination to act, experiment, succeed and innovate This means being able to exploit opportunities and having the courage to see plans and projects through to completion. An enterprise spirit means keep further Fancy starting up something big?

are you ready for business? 3 Are you curious, dynamic, and ingenious? Are you ready to take up managerial responsibilities? Well, if you are, Welcome to Iteem! LEARN TO BECOME AN ENGINEER-MANAGER-ENTREPRENEUR IN 5 YEARS As a department of Ecole Centrale de Lille, Iteem offers training as Engineer-Manager-Entrepreneur in partnership with SKEMA Business School. This program is designed for final year scientific baccalaureate students and leads to the postgraduate engineering degree of Ecole Centrale de Lille (speciality industrial engineering and entrepreneurship - title of Engineer conferring the grade of Master). All too often seen as synonymous with company start-ups, the notion of "enterprise" is covered more fully at Iteem, including: company set-up, business development, the development of new markets, proposing new operating methods within a company or the development of projects for associations. MEETING COMPANIES NEEDS Faced with the new challenges of a rapidly changing economy, heightened international competition and even more stringent demands from clients, now more than ever before companies need to improve their capacity to adapt and innovate. Consequently, they are looking for managers with genuine entrepreneurial abilities that are required in order to successfully implement change. CAREER OUTLETS "In 2008 I hired two Iteem students even before they had started their terminal internship. The profile of the graduates of this innovative training program is exactly what I was looking for. The combination of technical and managerial skills enables students to understand and adapt to the various aspects of corporate life. Not only do they quickly get to grips with our customers projects but they also see to our own in-house projects as well. This «dual» training to be both an engineer and a manager offers a real advantage to my company and perfectly corresponds to the markets in which it operates" Didier Ligneel CEO - NRC Group By ensuring that the notion of «enterprise» is central to its curriculum, Iteem perfectly meets the needs expressed by companies. ENGINEER-MANAGER-ENTREPRENEUR: A TRAINING PROFILE OFFERING A WEALTH OF CAREER OUTLETS Today, the most frequently sought after applicant profiles on the labour market are those offering diverse career prospects. Companies need managers/engineers who are operational from the outset, who are capable of effectively running teams based on shared goals, capable of working independently and able to easily adapt to new situations. By offering its students top-level training in both engineering and management, Iteem gives them the advantage they need to a fulfilling and successful career, whether in an existing company or when starting up a new one. are you ready to succeed? 5 Are you keen to manage the technical, managerial and commercial factors needed to successfully complete complex projects? Iteem offers you the chance to succeed and acquire training in both engineering and management. "Today dual-skill profiles offer a real advantage. When we handle a property development project, our managerial skills enable us to manage it from A to Z, while our commercial skills, underpinned by our technical knowledge, certainly help in convincing our investors. It s no coincidence that Bouygues Construction employs so many staff with dual-skill profiles" Completing the curriculum for an engineering school and a management school in only five years is a major challenge, but Iteem makes it possible through a highly original course structure and an innovative approach to teaching, well suited to the unique characteristics of the syllabus. A CONCRETE AND INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO TEACHING Iteem encourages "hands-on" learning. During the first year, numerous practical assignments, role-play situations, case studies, conferences, company sponsored projects and work placements offer a useful link between theory and reallife applications. The curriculum is designed so that students have plenty of time for individual or group work. The goal is to encourage students to engage in learning outside the classroom as well. A HIGHLY ORIGINAL CURRICULUM STRUCTURE With this 5-year post baccalaureate training program, Iteem has organized the curriculum into three phases, including courses from the first year onwards, combined with practical experience. A taste for enterprise management is developed through a combination of three major management themes (project management, business development, and company creation) backed by a solid foundation in engineering. An initial 3-year phase, common to all students, enables them to acquire the basic knowledge they need. During the fourth year, an 8-month internship abroad is the decisive training in helping the student prepare for a career Antoine Boniface - Graduate (2008) Data Center and Business Park Project Manager Sodéarif (Bouygues Construction Group) Project management AN ENTERPRISE SPIRIT Business development Company creation During the fifth year, students opt for one of the specializations offered by Ecole Centrale de Lille, while also attending final-year classes at SKEMA Business School. Finally, they round off their career preparations with an terminal internship (5 months). Engineering sciences

Experience 16 months of in-company periods 8 months abroad (during the fourth year) 360 Hours of corporate/student projects 80% of students are members of at least one of Iteem s many associations are you ready to experiment?

are you ready to experiment? 7 Are you keen to take the initiative and assume responsibilities? Do you enjoy being faced with real-life situations out in the field? Iteem believes that it is never too early to develop an enterprise spirit, and attaches a great deal of importance to experimentation. CORPORATE EXPERIENCE Companies are seeking executives and managers who are immediately operational, and this is why the experience gained over your 16 months internships at Iteem is particularly appreciated by recruiters. Iteem s internships are seen as completely separate personal projects and each receives individual support, from the very beginning of research to the completion of the tasks set by the company. During the final year, students planning to set up businesses have the possibility to join a business incubator in collaboration with five advanced universities. The purpose of the 8-month internship during the fourth year of studies is not only to discover a new culture but also to obtain solid and rewarding professional experience, an important asset to the eyes of company managers. This particular aspect of the training offered at Iteem helps students become more independent and mature in their work. Student associations EXPeriment internship role-play situations "Iteem s program paves the way to the world of company start-ups. A genuine enterprise spirit is developed during the five years of study. After leaving Iteem, I set up a company which I later sold in order to launch an e-commerce project with lematelas.fr. The skills and versatility gained at Iteem enabled us to succeed, technically, administratively, as well as in project management and sales" GAINING EXPERIENCE THROUGH PROJECTS The corporate/student projects offer the perfect opportunity to experiment, enabling students to put their dual skills into practice by completion of projects by combining design and implementation-using technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and marketing aspects. ASSOCIATION-BASED EXPERIENCE At Iteem, association projects offer additional practical experience. These are undertaken at the initiative of the student, who is given complete freedom to manage things as they see fit. As an example, Iteem students have launched several projects which they manage as mini-companies, such as the Human Iteem association which has installed an irrigation system in Burkina Faso, or the Lille aux Enfants association which every year organizes a charity event in Lille to raise money for an association working to help children. A dynamic environment reasonably-sized ANNUAL STUDENT INTAKES STUDENTS COACHED BY A TUTOR are you INTER-YEAR "BUDDY SCHEMES" CULTURAL, HUMANITARIAN AND SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 20,000 GRADUATES (FOR BOTH SCHOOLS) ready to share?

are you ready to share? 9 Are you keen to share such key values as dynamism, commitment, perseverance, boldness and personal development with those around you? Iteem encourages this state of mind and thrives to maximize your personal and professional self-fulfilment. "You don t just become an engineer in five years. It s a long-term commitment, a personal development process, achieved through training which helps us to better understand both ourselves and others. I definitely felt that I grew as a person during this training program, which I will always see as the basis of my knowledge and my future" Aurore Moutte - Graduate (2008) Junior Project Leader, DEXIA BIL (Luxembourg) A STATE OF MIND At Iteem, becoming an engineer is not simply learning the skills and knowledge. It is also based on interpersonal skills, and above all, a specific state of mind developed throughout the program. During your first few days at Iteem, the reception activities organized by the organizing team and the students from the various classes all help to foster a genuine sense of belonging to the larger Iteem community. The diversity of student profiles at Iteem provides a source of personal enrichment for everyone concerned. An Iteem student typically demonstrates a wish to learn and share his/her knowledge and experience with others. The resulting spirit of mutual assistance is an important aspect in each student s personal development. This state of mind is also shared by Iteem faculty and its administrative team. Always open and willing to listen to students views and concerns, they have developed a climate of trust and proximity encouraging selffulfilment in addition to personal and professional success. COMMUNITY LIFE: SHARING A COMMON PASSION When they join Iteem, students can choose from among the dozen sports, cultural or artistic associations present on campus. The energy of community life at Iteem makes it possible for everyone to take part in these activities whatever their preferences, and to share their passion and enthusiasm with others. Iteem students also have their own Students Union office which organizes and actively improves student life including outings, travels, links with companies and the organization of conferences, etc. For further information: http://bde.iteem.ec-lille.fr ALUMNI NETWORKS The notion of sharing also lives on through the institution s social networks. From their first year at the school, students have access to the network of graduate engineers from Ecole Centrale de Lille and that of SKEMA Business School, along with the various services they offer.
