GENERAL INFORMATION The BeAnywhere DRIVE is a Remote Access system made of two different parts: the first part is a software that needs to be installed on the computer that you wish to have remote access to the BeAnywhere Server and a second part that is on the BeAnywhere DRIVE itself, that allows you to connect to your computer and control it from any other computer easily and securely. THE BEANYWHERE SERVICE BEANYWHERE SERVER The BeAnywhere Server is installed on the computer that you wish to have remote access to. It runs in the background as a Windows Service, ready to receive incoming connections from a remote computer, as long as the internet connection is active. So, to use BeAnywhere you will need to have your computer on and connected to the internet. It is also highly recommended a broadband internet connection. BEANYWHERE DRIVE The BeAnywhere DRIVE is a USB Device that allows you to access your remote computers anytime, anywhere. When you plug your BeAnywhere DRIVE to any other computer with internet access and login on your account, you ll be able to see the list of available computers associated to your account and also see all the features and options for each. SECURITY Security is our Priority! BeAnywhere is a service that aims to provide the utmost security to its users. With all online security issues nowadays, many computers connected to the Internet are vulnerable even if they do not have a Remote access solution installed. At BeAnywhere we share that concern. This is why security is, and will always be our priority. In all the stages for design and development of the BeAnywhere technology, security was the main concern and we sometimes sacrificed features and speed to uphold the Security in our system. The BeAnywhere Service developed its security system on 3 different layers or security levels. It will not be possible to use the service unless all three layers of security are 100% fulfilled.

LEVEL 1 USER SECURITY Right at the beginning of the initial set up, BeAnywhere asks the user to create a password of his/her own to access the service. This password has to be compulsorily constituted by 8 alphanumeric characters, which means that it has to be combined by letters and numbers, or special characters (like, +*- etc.). Apart from this password to access the service, you need to set a second password the Master Password. The Master Password is created by the user for each computer at the moment of the BeAnywhere Server installation, and can only be changed if the user is physically at his/her computer The Master Password is never known at any time by the BeAnywhere service. It is the user s exclusive knowledge, so that if by chance it is forgotten the only possibility will be to create a new Master Password, which means the physical presence of the user at his/her computer. LEVEL 2 COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY The BeAnywhere Service ensures that all communications between both computers have a digital signature, this way not allowing communications to be intercepted and/or changed by a third person. All the keyboard commands or the mouse clicks are encrypted and a digital signature is applied to each one, which enables that when the arrival computer receives that information, it is guaranteed essential inviolability. LEVEL 3 SYSTEM SECURITY BeAnywhere uses a RC4 standard 256 bits compatible cipher with a 2048 bit key for encryption between the two computers. This is the same security level used in security communication protocols, like for example the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol which is used for example by the Internet Banking, or to internet pages dedicated to processing online payments. SETUP As we said earlier, BeAnywhere DRIVE has of two different components: The BeAnywhere Server and the BeAnywhere DRIVE. Before you are able to setup either of the two parts, you will need to ACTIVATE your BeAnywhere DRIVE. To do so, please follow the steps below. ACTIVATION

1. Plug the BeAnywhere DRIVE into one of the available USB ports of the computer that you wish to prepare for remote access. Make sure that the internet connection is working. 2. The BeAnywhere DRIVE will launch automatically, and the language selection screen appears; 3. The first time you use the BeAnywhere DRIVE, you are invited to ACTIVATE and register your license. This is a required step. 4. Fill in the form with the necessary details and click REGISTER. You must enter the Activation Code supplied on the package exactly as it is supplied.

NOTE: You should memorize your username (Email) and password so you login to your BeAnywhere DRIVE account; 5. Once you click on REGISTER, an email will be sent to the address you provided, with the final instructions to complete the activation. 6. If you do not receive the Email in the following minutes, you can click on CONTINUE, so that you can ask for a resend or to change or correct the email address. If the address is correct and you still haven t received the email, verify that your email was not blocked by your SPAM filter.

7. If you have followed the instructions on the activation email, but the activation is not automatically detected, click on VERIFY ACTIVATION to complete the activation process. HOW TO SETUP THE BEANYWHERE SERVER To set up the BeAnywhere Server in any computer you just have to plug the BeAnywhere DRIVE in your computer with an active internet connection, in an available USB port. 1. Once you have the activation process completed, the BeAnywhere DRIVE s initial screen will appear. Click on INSTALL ; 2. Follow the setup wizard to complete the installation.

3. Once the install is complete, the BeAnywhere icon appears on the bottom right corner of your screen saying that the BeAnywhere is ready to receive remote requests. Anytime you wish to add a new computer to your BeAnywhere DRIVE, just follow these on the new computer. The BeAnywhere DRIVE you purchased allows you to add up to 3 computers. If you need to control additional comp0uter, you may acquire more licences at www.beanywhere.com. HOW TO USE THE BEANYWHERE DRIVE The BeAnywhere DRIVE is the second part, which allows you to actually access your remote PC anytime, anywhere. When the BeAnywhere DRIVE is plugged to any other computer with internet access, it will ask you for your username and password to login. When you login, it will list the available computers on your account which are ready to be remotely accessed, and shows the features and options available for each. To access a computer where you previously installed BeAnywhere, please follow the steps below: 1. Plug your BeAnywhere DRIVE on one of the available USB ports of any other computer connected to the internet. 2. BeAnywhere DRIVE will launch automatically;

3. Enter your Username (email address) and password and click ENTER ; 4. On the left, the list of available computers will appear. Select the PC that you wish to control and click CONNECT on the bottom right. In a few seconds your PC s screen will be in front of you.

NOTE In order to guarantee your SAFETY and PRIVACY, no access or login information will be registered on the computer that you use the BeAnywhere DRIVE. FEATURES BeAnywhere DRIVE gives you full access and control anytime, anywhere to your computers. BeAnywhere DRIVE is a complete tool which, apart from providing a simple and seamless access to your remote computers, also allows you to share files, transfer files, give access to family members or co-workers to your computers, host online commercial presentations, or synchronize files, all this with the utmost security and simplicity. Below you will find a detailed description of the available features in your BeAnywhere DRIVE. REMOTE DESKTOP Remote Desktop is the main feature on the BeAnywhere DRIVE. Simply put, Remote Desktop means the possibility to see and control your remote computer, control the mouse and keyboard just as if you were seated in front of your PC even if you re half way around the world. How to use Remote Desktop: 1. After you login with your BeAnywhere username and password, the available PC s on your account are listed:

2. Select the PC you wish to control and click Connect. 3. The connection to the remote computer starts. A pop up asking you for the MASTER PASSWORD will show. This is the password you have set for exclusive access to that particular Computer. 4. After a few seconds, your remote Computer s screen will be in front of you. You can now control the mouse and keyboard. What you are seeing is exactly what is happening on your PC.

FILE TRANSFER File Transfer is a complete and powerful feature which allows you to transfer files in a simple way from the PC where you are directly to your remote PC, or transfer files that stored in your remote PC to the PC where you are. BeAnywhere DRIVE File Transfer allows you to decide where you want to transfer the files to, with utmost security. How to use File Transfer: 1. Select the PC you wish to transfer files to or from, select File Transfer in the BeAnywhere DRIVE window and click Connect.

2. The connection to the remote computer starts. A pop up asking you for the MASTER PASSWORD will show. This is the password you have set for exclusive access to that particular Computer. 3. To send (upload) or download files, you can use Windows drag and drop feature. Browse to the folder where the files or folders you wish to transfer are, and drag the files or folders to the place you wish to copy them and the transfer will start immediately. You may transfer from the remote PC to the local PC or vice-versa. FILE SHARE BeAnywhere DRIVE allows you to send to your friends, co-workers, customers or family files that are too big to send by e-mail, always with full security and comfort. Nowadays, it s not difficult to have files that are 25, 30, 50MB or more in size, and with email limitations, sometimes it s not easy to send these files. To address this issue, BeAnywhere DRIVE created a simple way for you to send a file regardless of its size to anyone. Instead of sending the complete file, BeAnywhere sends a hyperlink that will allow the recipient to download the file directly from your computer. BeAnywhere DRIVE File Share generates a secure hyperlink protected by a password that you set, which is then used by the recipient to copy the file directly from your computer. You may control the expiration term for that link, who the receiver(s) will be and how many times that file can be copied from your computer. You can cancel the share at any time you wish to, by moving it to another folder.

Ho to use File Share: 1. Select the PC where the files to be sent are, select the File Share option and click on CONNECT 2. The connection to the remote computer starts. A pop up asking you for the MASTER PASSWORD will show. This is the password you have set for exclusive access to that particular Computer. 3. To Share a file, click Browse and locate the folder where the file you need is stored. Click OK. Enter a comment if you find it necessary, and click Next,

4. Enter the recipient s email address. An email will be sent by BeAnywhere to that email address so make sure that it is correct. Click Next 5. Security first! Set a password to protect that share. Set a password with at least 8 characters with both letters and numbers. You can also set a time limit for the share, and the number of times it can be downloaded. Don t forget to inform the recipients of the password, otherwise they will not be able to access the file.

6. An email is sent, with a link to your share. If you wish, you can copy the hyperlink, and paste it in a document for future reference, or email it to another person.

That s it! Now leave your PC on and connected to the Internet, and the recipients can download the file whenever they need. All the other files and folders on your PC are fully locked. The Share is ONLY for the file you selected. FILE SYNC File Sync is a feature that helps you to keep your files always synchronized across your computers. This feature may be extremely useful for people that work on the same files across multiple PCs and need to have them all in sync. How to use the File Sync: 1. Select the PC where the files to sync are stored, select File Sync option and click on CONNECT 2. The connection to the remote computer starts. A pop up asking you for the MASTER PASSWORD will show. This is the password you have set for exclusive access to that particular Computer. 3. The File Sync window allows you to select the folder or folders you wish to synchronize both on the PC where you are at the moment, and on the remote PC. After you select the folders, you ll need to choose if you want to sync local files to the remote PC (Local to remote), or sync remote files with local ones (Remote to Local), or just make sure that the most updated version of the files is the same on both folders (Both Ways). 4. Click on Start and see the contents of the selected folders sync up, as you requested.

GUEST INVITE Guest Invite basically refers to the BeAnywhere DRIVE Feature that allows you to invite a someone from your family, a friend, a co-worker, a customer, supplier, etc, and give them access to your computer. But, Guest Invite feature is much more than a mere screen sharing feature. For each invitation you create a different account, with different usernames and password, and in each you can set different permissions and access level. You can decide if your Guest can only see your screen, or if he can take control of the mouse and keyboard, decide if he can upload and/or download files from your PC, set a specific folder or allow full access to your entire computer s content. This feature is especially useful to ask a Computer savvy friend for help with a computer problem. Or, to easily receive or share large files from a co-worker; or even to invite a customer for an online screen-share presentation, and avoid the trip. There are no limits to the number of invitations. You may invite as many people as you want, and set for each a different access level and permissions. You can even set a time limit for the invitation so that it will expire when you want it to. And, at all times you are in control being able to remove the access with a single click. How to invite a Guest: 1. Select the PC where you want the invitation to come from, select the Guest Invite option and click on CONNECT

2. The connection to the remote computer starts. A pop up asking you for the MASTER PASSWORD will show. This is the password you have set for exclusive access to that particular Computer. 3. Your guest list for that computer will appear. The MASTER account is your own account. NEVER under any circumstances give your MASTER PASSWORD to anyone. To send an invitation, click on Invite New Guest ; 4. The Invitation Account setup screen will appear for. Carefully fill all the fields.

5. The Email address will be used as the guest account s username. You will need to send the password separately to the person you are inviting. You can set an expiration date for your invitation. Note that you may change these settings any time you want. You may choose if your guest will be able see the remote screen and if he will have control over the mouse and keyboard, if he has file transfer access, and if he can only access a specific folder or all the contents of your computer. In short, all the options you need to custom the invitation as you wish. You are in control. When you have all the settings, click on SAVE. 6. The invitation will be added to your list.

7. You can re-send the invitation again whenever you need to, or edit the account permissions. When the invitation is no longer needed, click on remove. Be sure to use this feature wisely. Only invite people you trust to have access your PC. 1GB OF STORAGE Finally, aside from all the features mentioned above, BeAnywhere DRIVE is also a small convenient portable USB thumb drive that you can use as an external storage device, like any thumb drive.
