University of Brighton Information Services quoting the Auth ID and Card Payment ID s, as shown below. Frequently Asked Questions Is it safe to type my credit card details onto the UniCard website? Yes. Your bank and credit card details are encrypted and secure which stops anyone trying to steal your details. We recommend that you check that no-one is watching when you enter your personal bank details. Ideally enter your information when you are alone - preferably in your home or halls and not in a public area such as a coffee shop or bar. As with all transactions over the internet, check that the URL (web address) starts with https:// and that a padlock is displayed to confirm that the site is secure. Why am I unable to deposit more than 125? To comply with Financial Services Association (FSA) regulations the University of Brighton must set a maximum limit of 125. Why is only 5 displayed on the Top-Up with Menu? As you increase your online balance to the maximum limit of 125 the available top-up amounts reduce. For example, if you had 110:00 in your account the top-up values would include 5, 10 and 15 only. Page 12 last update Nov 2014

Managing your UniCard account online What do I do if money does not appear when I check my UniCard balance? Check the email account that you gave when entering your credit card details. You should have received an email conformation acknowledging your payment. Also check your spam folder in case the email has appeared there. The email should appear within a few minutes of your credit card deposit. If you have not received the email it is likely that the deposit was not processed. Double check your own bank account to make sure that the payment has not been processed. You can also check your 'Account History' which shows you all your deposits and transactions - check the date and time to see if the amount is displayed. What do I do if I see an error message after typing my credit card details? If an error message is displayed, check that you have entered your details correctly. If your details are correct: make a note of the error message report the problem using one of the following methods: o send an email to unicard@brighton.ac.uk o ring 01273 644555 o Visit a library Help Desk where staff may be able to provide assistance. To ensure that your problem is solved as quickly as possible, please include the error message in any email. Below are two examples of the type of error messages you may see if there is a problem with your request to credit funds onto your UniCard Account. Example error message 1 The above error message may indicate that the network is down to the company that deals with credit card transactions, please report this to unicard@brighton.ac.uk Printed Thursday, 30 July 2015 Page 13

University of Brighton Information Services Example error message 2 The above error message generally indicates that the session has time out and therefore the user is requested to please try again, however if the message continues, please report this to unicard@brighton.ac.uk Does the UniCard website store my payment details or do I have to re-enter them each time I make a payment to my account? Users are required to enter their credit card details each time they make a payment to their account; this is implemented for security reasons. Who do I go to if I need help or have a problem? If you experience any issues using the UniCard Online facility there are several ways to get help: o send an email to unicard@brighton.ac.uk o ring 01273 644555 o Visit a University of Brighton library where staff may be able to provide assistance. Please remember to include as much information as possible in any email, including the text of any error messages. Where can I find more detailed information about the UniCard Online Facility?
